    Lawler was like a great musician or poet. He spun poetry with his promos and was a better worker than he gets credit for today. When he was a heel, he could draw massive heat with not only his promos, but by the things he would do. Watch his angle with Chris Champion RIP by the way. It was great. Jerry Lawler absolutely deserves the respect he gets. Love Ya King.

    Reigns eventually got to where they hoped he could be. But the stubbornness with him delayed the fans being happy with him. They just so transparently made him the top dog and stuck with that even though fans wanted Daniel Bryan so badly. I remember when he started as a singles wrestler and it was apparent that he’d be the next top guy for the foreseeable future that I was always happy that they kept delaying his ascension to the title for a long while.
    Initially he came up short and then when he won the Rumble I was not in love with him wrestling Brock. But when Rollins came out I was stoked because by that point I was just wanted anybody but Roman basically. But I’ve been cool with the heel run albeit I’m ready for a change. After more than two years and beating essentially everybody available I’m down to see someone else win it, ideally Cody. But I’ve enjoyed him a lot more as a heel and letting him be himself versus the force feeding of a hero character that we had for so long.

  • @freiza79

    Jerry Jarrett should have ran WWE. Vince should have paid Jeff Jarrett not to wrestle.

  • @melbias5046
    @melbias5046 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Back then wrestlers had to work in different territories to get better and it took a few years now they work at the place in florida and think they will be ready plus they write everything for them and even the match they had to follow. Plus everybody and their moms are bookers and they know everything

    • @Matt-cr4vv
      @Matt-cr4vv ปีที่แล้ว

      There’s no genuine reason why the PC would be detrimental to getting better versus the territories. You get the same things, namely working in front of audiences and learning how to work in TV. You also get coached by some of the best to ever do it. The perceived issues of the PC are largely misguided to the PC system itself. The perception of it not being a good place to learn is partially because people who do well there don’t have continuation to the main show, so you don’t see a ton of stars come out. If those who came out of NXT Lhasa continuity to the main shows you’d see a higher success rate. The other issue with the perception of the territories is the idea that everybody was can’t miss. People remember the guys who became big stars and decide that it means the territories were way better. But in reality the stars compared to the plethora of people in the territories were still rare to emerge. The small amount of stats to emerge is just much more noticeable when they all come from one place versus assorted around the county in various small promotions.

      @@Matt-cr4vv do you know that stone cold taker jack and so many more when the wwe was st it's last great run all those guys started in territory and it took at least 5 yo 8 years for them to get an idea how to work in a ring or fo interviews. Since then it's garbage. And nxt and the Florida camp has done nothing to produce stars. Now we have cookie cutter wrestlers who all look alike. And it's terrible Jim Cornette was the last of great teachers to make decent wrestlers Cena, Brock, Kane, and Orton. Now what does wwe have? A guy who has taken 6 years znd pushed down our throats the rocks cousin Roman reins

    • @cretinousjester3475
      @cretinousjester3475 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Joseph Kerlegon Jr.: Only if the WWF feels the full wrath of the courts. I have a feeling and it's just a gut one that Vince had taken some surprising and probably illegal steps to see to it that his empire escaped should he go down. For years, there were people that thought Jack Tunney was a legit "president" of the WWF. Who's to say that Jarrett couldn't come out as "principal stockholder" or something and "take control". Remember this was back before the Curtain Call finally killed all pretense so who knows. I do agree- it would've been interesting to see what would've happened had Vince went to jail.
      I'm not disagreeing with you. It's just that: Who knows what's gone on behind Vince's door? Say what you will but he's one of the most successful businessmen of the late 20th century. He literally conquered the wrestling world. Maybe it's worse off for it now but he did what he did.

    • @kaioh187

      Generally everyone but Bruce Pritchard supports the story. Its why he hates Jarrett so very much.
      Linda McMahon would have run the overall business. Jarrett would have supervised the wrestling in terms of shows and TV production.
