Memphis fan for life. My childhood revolves around Saturday morning at 11:00 on channel 5. I love Jerry Jarrett and The King. But for years I have heard Lawler say he walked into channel 5 and arranged to get wrestling switched from channel 13 to channel 5. But Jarrett is claiming here that he went and did it himself.
This is wonderful. I love listening to Mr. Jarrett on the old territory days. Heard these stories before but I can hear them over and over. I think someone should make a series based on the territory days and hopefully they do it while Jerry is still around as a resource. Not many of the players left unfortunately. Thanks Mr. Bradshaw & Mr. Brisco. Really enjoying your new show.
A quarter way into this great interview an somebody who will remain nameless has lost an eye an got 200 stitches. Times were different lol. But keep these interviews coming MAJOR THANKS once again to JBL & Mr. Brisco !!🙌🙌. This one is a gem.
Jerry Jarret used the Lou Thesz press which he gave to Tommy "Wild Fire" Rich and Steve Austin. He always came across on TV like in this video, a soft spoken, humble, intelligent guy. People outside of the Memphis area just don't understand how popular wrestling was in the 70s and 80s. Everyone watched it, whole families went to the matches, grandparents, parents, kids.
The first wrestling match I ever saw involved Jerry Jarrett, Jackie Fargo vs Jerry Lawler and Jim White for the Southern tag team titles on Saturday morning TV WHBQ. Jarrett and Fargo were the champions, Lawler and White with Sam Bass beat Jarrett to bloody pulp. I WAS HOOKED ON THE MEMPHIS TERRITORY! From that point on to about '79, then from '80 to about '86.
Jerry Jarrett is a genius and brilliant businessman. He could easily be overlooked or judged by the way he softly speaks and body language non threatening. He seems to be a man of honour too, which is lacking in general society.
It’s sad when he talks about the business he knew not existing anymore. “Storylines, drama, and emotion.” I wish WWE would have kept some of that Memphis heat 🔥 alive in their booking. It’s compelling. Lots of creativity! It can still work today. Personal issues draw money. I wish Jerry Lawler was part of today’s booking. I’m a lifelong fan either way. I just wish there was more heat and less bad comedy today.
If Watts and Crockett could have stayed with Verne Eddie Graham and Jerry Jerrett, there would have been a territory system today. And the winner would have been the fans.
These guys have an awesome show. They do something most can’t do. They let the guest talk. Thank You Both.
Glad you guys had an opportunity to interview JJ before his passing😊 R.I.P.😇
Thank you for interviewing him. RIP.

Jim Cornett did this but I believe it’s several videos. Some of which I think it’s paywalled.
Enjoyed talking to Jerry Jarrett on the car ride to Tampa a few weeks ago. A true gentlemen and wrestling royalty.
Huh?

This episode flew by for me. I have heard so much about Mr. Jarrett for years and being able to hear some of his stories was a true pleasure.🤘

Jerry Jarrett great stories about Memphis wrestler
Jerry Jarrett was the one who told Vince to put the belt on Bret Hart

I saw Jack Brisco work with Don Greene in Nashville and it is still my favorite match, even though Don lost in a two out of three round match

The age of politically correct governs all, even entertainment. It’s no longer a blank canvas
@@_sabathia_5929 You are 100 percent correct. I’m afraid the great pro wrestling is in the past. At least we have TH-cam.
