2012 G37S Coupe owner here. This review is very accurate to my experience with mine. It's not the fastest car ever, it's not the lightest, but it's comfortable, fun, quick, looks so damn good, and is a perfect daily. I've modified mine a bit since I got it about a year ago, and before this, I had no experience working on cars. It's been a great platform to learn on. I love mine to death. If you're looking for a 2+2 RWD coupe with luxury, some sportiness, Japanese reliability, and plenty of aftermarket support, this is the way to go.
Zac Q I have a 2010 G37x Coupe and I 100% agree. Mine even has over 200k miles and it’s still going strong. I’m about to get the axle back stock exhaust swapped out for resonators to beef up the exhaust note.
These cars are the perfect first car for someone who wants a fast reliable, and cheap car. Bought mine for 5000 CAD (4000 USD) with 120000 miles and it's being so much fun for what it is.
@@kenpaacchi I did buy mine in 2018 so it was before car prices went up with Covid. I can still find g37s in Ontario with 100k miles for 6500 USD though.
I drive a G37 IPL, and am very pleased. Performance: my best 1/4 time is 14.4 seconds. The G has plenty of torque, but the final drive ratio is less than perfect for 1/4 mile times. The G shifts from 4th to 5th gear just before the finish line. So I am crossing the finish line at the bottom of the torque curve not the top. Automatic transmission: with 6 forward gears, the transmission is always “hunting” for the proper gear. The slightest change in road elevation, and the G will either up or down shift. Reliability is excellent. Other than routine maintenance such as tires and oil changes, I haven’t put a dime into the car. Summary: if you can find a used G37 IPL with less than 50,000 miles, get it. You will be please with the bang for your bucks.
TheDustyaman Haha. This guy's reviews are among my favorite on TH-cam....but what in the Sam hell is up with the jerky hand movements when introducing yourself and the car?! It had me chuckling hard.
I just pick up one of this baby 2011 G37S Coupe Premium with Sports packages 😍. It's very comfortable, balance, precise and fun to drive 😍🥰 And the exhaust notes put a smile on my face every I hit the paddle 🥰🙂 Handle very well when you want it to and very refine when you're just cruising on the freeways 🙂
I test drove one and it rode kinda harsh. The reg G37 I'd prefer. But transmission and power in the automatic was pretty impressive. Used these are a great deal for low $20Ks.
G-37x owner with a car that has 160k on the clock and still running strong. The one thing I thought it would be better at is winter driving, everything else has been great.
I just bought a 2008 with 178 k miles already on it. That's how good these cars are. I had a high mileage g35 as well with 150 k before selling it. The car has very little issues. It does have a small grind when I shift into 5th gear really fast. I think the syncros on 5th are a bit worn and that's not shocking for a car with that many miles on it. I didn't pay a lot for this car considering the excellent cosmetic condition and how well it drives. Mine is lowered and has niche rims, lookin great.. it also has the grill, trunk bill, and badge blacked out with a good quality plastidip job. that blacking out of the silver trim on the car really helps to give the car less of a luxury look. Mine looks anything but luxury now. I had started seeing some aggressive looking g37's around town and realized they didn't have to look like a yuppies car and I could just get myself another Infiniti which is what I know and like.
Huh, before doing this review I could have sworn I read that the S models got Brembos, and when I saw them on the car assumed they were legit. Doing some more googling now though I can't find any source talking about Brembos so I guess the previous owner rebranded them for some reason. Sam just got the car less than a month before and didn't make any of the changes himself so it must have been the owner before him. Regardless, the brakes felt good and the rotors were obviously upgraded from factory ones to the drilled and slotted rotors which probably helped.
Indeed if you treat them every so often with leather cleaner then they hold up perfectly fine, my 02 altima's seats are still in great condition and only now is the stitching starting to wear.
@1:24 those are Factory Akebono BBK not Brembo. the owner put the Brembo letters instead smh. hey let's meet up so you can drive my G37 6-speed Dyno Tuned to really represent this car.
JUST to clarify for fellow G37 Fans ( No offense Matt ! ) to get those killer seats, you have to get the "S" pkg in the G37. The non-S Seats are ok, but these are significantly better !! Merry Christmas everyone :)
I used to have a g37x coupe and the transmission had the problems he talkes about in the video. I remember doing some kind of update in the dealership for the transmission and it really made it much better.
Nice review! The G37 was giving the 3-series a run for its money back in the day (I still chose the 3 series) and then Infiniti just disappears for a while. Never understood it. They were so close to overtaking the 3-series, and probably would have with the release of the less-than-excellent F30, but then gave up at the last minute.
I own an '08 g37 coupe, ive had it since 2018. Its sept 2024 now, this car still flies, and very quick. Mine is a 6speed manual, not an automatic for you young people, just saying. 140mph, didnt feel like i was touching the pavement, i backed out. Im old, 55. Love my speed demon. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Render Lizswith those are unicorns. So hard to find them in the northeast since most people buy the 37x with awd which doesn't come with a manual. I did the next best thing.... got a jeep for the winter and a 370z for the summer
Seen several of Matt’s reviews by now and he’s not a bad reviewer at all. Thank god I did it right this time and bought a manual g37. My g35 was auto cause I wasn’t patient enough and I had buyers remorse big time . I’m not against autos btw and think they both have there pros and cons. I just couldn’t get over how crisp the shifts sounded when I heard some bad as manual cars shifting and it feels like that too.
Recently drove the modern equivalent of my '09 G37x. A '17 Q50 3.0T AWD. The steering is much better in the G. Plus the G feels more sporty. And the VQ sounds way better then the VR30. Plus I got mine for 10k! Name me a better daily for that price.
i have a 2012 g37 bro i love it. I never had any problems except for the usual tire change oil change new breaks . Go ahead and test drive it bro and get what you want at the end of the day youre the one who is going to be paying for it.
Those are not Brembo brakes. Coming from a 370Z owner, those are the stock Akebono sport brakes that Nissan puts on the G37/370Z sport. What a fail on the part of the owner, as if Akebono brakes are something to be ashamed of...
G37s 6spd owner here. Fair review except I disagree with the visibility since it has a pretty good blind spot. I baby the car and the manuals are infamous for 5th gear grind so don't be surprised. It was replaced under warranty and same issue many miles later. I think it's just a defect in the transmissions they use. Another off the wall complaint is the doors are very heavy. Nearly everyone doesn't shut the door properly when exiting.
love your reviews.... and ive watched enough of your videos that i can tell just by your facial expression when you launch the car if you really truly enjoy it!!! haha
All depends on how you treat them. If they're left in the sun all the time and/or not treated with conditioner, any leather will look horrible after 7 years or even less.
So happy with mine. Had a g35 before and now the g37s. Bought it with 178 thousand miles and my wrenches ready to go at any time she needs attention. I wouldn't recommend buying one with this many miles unless you're ready to work on it or have a cheap mechanic. The engine isn't showing signs of quitting any time soon. Honestly its still got plenty of power and will do 140 mph and then some.. not that id know or anything. I've never driven a real race car or anything but id have to say the g37 corners flat as hell with some decent coil overs and tires.. I'm so excited to get sway and strut bars in the future. The cars also got enough room in the trunk to put all my construction stuff for work. I've put my bicycle in the back seat of my g35 before. This car offers way more practicality than a 370 z and that's basically the entire reason I didn't get a 370z.
I have the G37 2013 Automatic, I feel pretty much the same as you, I bought it as a fun daily driver. The suspension is ok and has a bit of body roll, but its a fun project car.
I added Hotchkis anti roll bars, and it is a lot better. The next step for me are coil-overs. I don't think of it as a crazy sports coupe. But its reliable and fun.
Paper Man haha! I would feel guilty since at this point it’s high mileage and I am having automatic transmission neutral-1st gear, etc slip. I think the previous owner burned the hybrid clutch disk system. I am pretty sure it wasn’t me... 😝
Mr maran , this is your biggest fan in South Africa ,I really wish 2 meet with u as time goes on but I would also like 2 tell u 2 keep up the good work. only u give me precise information about cars and their acceleration etc , I also loved your Dodge challenger SRT demon ,#funniest reaction ever .keep up the good work 10 out of 10 from me.
My cousin owns a g37 automatic and it's very nice! The owner should really ditch the tacky tail lights and black out his headlight housing instead (even install some halos), stop pretending he has brembos and properly put an AKEBONO decal, and give this car a proper detail all the way from the inside out! I would even go as far as having the headliner redone in some alcantara and it would look killer and properly done! I own a 370z nismo and I feel like the 370z is always easier to find in manual and cheaper than a manual g37 especially if it's an IPL, probably high mileage too.
Thank you. for reviewing one but, who ever had it beat the shit out of it. Mine may have a bit lower miles but it's an 08 n looks in better shape than that.
Certain cars look gorgeous no matter what year there in, the g37 coupe is one of them, no matter what year its a beautiful car to look at. Same with the original supra and 96 mazda rx7
I've been tempted to upgrade from a 2013 FR-S to one of these or a Genesis V6 coupe. Except... I'll probably go for a manual trans. Wait... you used to be the WRX guy, right? You still driving that, or changed your name with your ride?
Looking at a 2013 g37x sedan with about 90000 miles for 12.9k and a ton of option. Would you recommend? Or what else should I look at to be sure it’s a good purchase?
Seems pretty reasonable if you're buying it from a reasonably trustworthy source. I bought my g37x from Carmax for around 10 grand (125k miles) and it was single owner, no crash history, premium audio package... If that helps. I see them for cheaper from random dealers though.
yo! this review is in my town! i recognize those backroads, plus the "W Western Reserve" and "New Buffalo" intersection on the navigation, this is literally like 10-15 minutes from my house!
Raptor 450 well you wouldn't be getting one. Out of like 300 there will be 5 manuals. Most people who look at an infiniti are around middle age n older and most ppl that age will not worry about shifting.
Marcus Blair you forgot about the young privates on the army and the Bay area California loves these and they swing them like crazy and they are usually manual
Marcus Blair trust me as air headed as the ppl are who get them I doubt they have the capacity to go online and carefully which one they get so yes they have gotten lucky my closest friend from ARMY got a g37s in a 6 speed manual
I'm honestly looking at getting a 2013 g37s coupe with the GTR paddles or a 2014 Q50 pretty soon, would you recommend them or a lets say a 2012 bmw 135i with an m sport package? Both are about the same price where I'm at
ClubZlut those who are addicted to "low" are likely going through early youth. It's just a phase, though not everyone would go through, I didn't. But if some one in their 30s or older tries to pull that off, it will be simply absurd and funny to look at. IMO.
Probably going to get a G 37 coupe within the next couple of weeks since someone pulled out in front of me yesterday in my Ultima coupe which had the V6 the manual it has all the options I wanted but I’m pretty sure it’s totaled thankfully everyone is all right praise the Lord but it’s a little bit of a bummer cause I’m going to have a hard time getting a manual so I think I’m probably going to have to settle with a automatic but I’ll be all right. Jesus bless y’all.

You should ahah. Just be careful of the black ones, they show scratches really easily.
Humza Khan all wheel drive?!

You ever put adults in the backseat? Have they complained about the head and legroom?

I have this thought process that you kinda really can't judge the leather quality on a 7 year old car.
Why not? Good leather will still feel good all it's life as long as it's taken care of and not sitting in the sun for decades.

Holy shit matt went from, HELLO GUYS SUBARUWRXFAN HERE!!! to was good my nigga subaruwrxfan out here.
Damn boi been hitting that gym👍
The leather seats do not hold up well.
All depends on how you treat them. If they're left in the sun all the time and/or not treated with conditioner, any leather will look horrible after 7 years or even less.
The older pre-2010 G37 have terrible leather material, the newer ones feel much more robust
My 2009 has the notorious bubbles. The leather itself though, is still nice
not true, my old one was a 2008 g37s in black and my seats were perfect no lie. it all definetly depends on the owner
I wish I could attach pics
How was it
I have the G37 2013 Automatic, I feel pretty much the same as you, I bought it as a fun daily driver.
I have a 12 G37 Sport sedan and it doesn’t have much body roll it’s more stiff compared to the 08 G35 I was going to get
Mr maran , this is your biggest fan in South Africa ,I really wish 2 meet with u as time goes on but I would also like 2 tell u 2 keep up the good work. only u give me precise information about cars and their acceleration etc , I also loved your Dodge challenger SRT demon ,#funniest reaction ever .keep up the good work 10 out of 10 from me.
They put the ad right before his "backroad" run 😭😂
My cousin owns a g37 automatic and it's very nice! The owner should really ditch the tacky tail lights and black out his headlight housing instead (even install some halos), stop pretending he has brembos and properly put an AKEBONO decal, and give this car a proper detail all the way from the inside out! I would even go as far as having the headliner redone in some alcantara and it would look killer and properly done!
I own a 370z nismo and I feel like the 370z is always easier to find in manual and cheaper than a manual g37 especially if it's an IPL, probably high mileage too.
why is this guy driving a sport coupe in what looks like a rural or farm road?
I need an aux cord! My 2005 G35x has friggin built in Bose Speakers but no aux
Thank you. for reviewing one but, who ever had it beat the shit out of it. Mine may have a bit lower miles but it's an 08 n looks in better shape than that.
Does the usb port work for playing music in the car?
Yes from an ipod or iPhone only.
@@cooldaddyslick6869 Lies. Both my 4 & 16 GB sticks fit in just fine, no Apple crap necessary. 🤣
I love these cars!
So hard to find black, less than 115k miles, under $10k and with ipl body kit....
My dream car 😍😍
been waitin' for this!! :)
7:20
thx
Certain cars look gorgeous no matter what year there in, the g37 coupe is one of them, no matter what year its a beautiful car to look at. Same with the original supra and 96 mazda rx7
finally an infiniti
I've been tempted to upgrade from a 2013 FR-S to one of these or a Genesis V6 coupe.
Except... I'll probably go for a manual trans.
Wait... you used to be the WRX guy, right? You still driving that, or changed your name with your ride?
I bet the owner is blacked out
Sam Lung 👎👎
DeOndré Anderson lmfao does she know she's a side girl cause if she's looking at g37 vids, you just exposed yourself m8
Was really hoping it would have been the 6 speed manual.
Mrakstunna well that would have been disappointing
Why is that? I've driven the auto and found it to be quite boring. The manual is much more engaging and a different driving experience.
Mrakstunna bro does it matter gawd lee I hate car enthusiasts that hate on automatics like dang
@@milowalks lol fr. that shit annoys the hell out of me... Oh its an automatic?? damn the car sucks
Auto does suck. U weenies need to grow a pair
great review man! Been following you for a long time! keep up the good work!
Bro you can shift your own gears with the DS mode. Use the + to up shift and the - to down shift. It shifts a lot quicker that way than the pedals
How's the road noise in this thing? I heard they are very loud and bothersome over long periods.
2003 audi rs6 review?
anyone?
man the cars paint looks rough
@mat marran im confused between this and the genesis coupe 3.8 🤔
VQ powaaaa !
Ohhhh... so that’s how they film those smooth camera move shots, it’s like attached to a stick (saw in rear bumper reflection)
blacked out rides are so 2010ish....
Acuravigor47 nah they're still nice but this one looks like shit, his paint is all sorts of fucked up
Blacked our cars are played out. Time to move on.
Acuravigor47 blacked out cars have been played out for awhile you are right
@@infamousian123 dark silver is where it's at nowadays, those look beautiful!
@@carlosandleon dark silver with black rims
yo! this review is in my town! i recognize those backroads, plus the "W Western Reserve" and "New Buffalo" intersection on the navigation, this is literally like 10-15 minutes from my house!
My grandma's RX8 is sexy!!
i thought you said my grandmas sexy and i almost dialed 911
K so I have a 2011 G37 xS coupe my reverse lights and back up camera aren't working...anyone know the problem? Reverse switch?
Did you figure it out? I have 2008 m35 and my rear camera and right rear LED brake light is not working now.
I'd never buy a G with an automatic.
Tyler Wallace I'm sure they got lucky or ordered one online when you could.
Marcus Blair trust me as air headed as the ppl are who get them I doubt they have the capacity to go online and carefully which one they get so yes they have gotten lucky my closest friend from ARMY got a g37s in a 6 speed manual
Tyler Wallace wish my car was a 6 speed 😔
I'm honestly looking at getting a 2013 g37s coupe with the GTR paddles or a 2014 Q50 pretty soon, would you recommend them or a lets say a 2012 bmw 135i with an m sport package? Both are about the same price where I'm at
Connor McKay "with the GTR paddles" 😂 is that what sealed the deal
That car needs more low
ralph morales I normally hate slammed look, still do. But this car can use some shorter spring, the gap is hard to look at.
ralph morales LOW IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO.
Not everybody likes scraping over everything. Some actually like to, you know, drive their cars.
ClubZlut those who are addicted to "low" are likely going through early youth. It's just a phase, though not everyone would go through, I didn't.
But if some one in their 30s or older tries to pull that off, it will be simply absurd and funny to look at. IMO.
ClubZlut well low is nice but there is a line, low is good for cars but too low can destroy one I agree
It is literally my primary goal in life to get a fin ball. Preferably the coupe.
this car doesn't seem to be very exciting for a sports coupe, I'd rather get the 370z
i agree. you'd defintiely turn more heads driving by in a Z rather than a G.
depends on how ya mod
I liked the 370 too but ended up getting a g37. The 2 seat thing was just a turn off...
Coogi King get Recaro seats
Simple Skyline No you wouldn't unless your 5 ft 110 lb it's so tiny inside this car any day.
