I love how you apologized to the scanner when it said too far, hahaha. Interesting scanner. I wish I had a way to try them all out so I could pick one.
Got my Einstar Vega two days ago. Love it. The scanning quality is very good but the mesh merging part of software is crap. Hopefully they will update it. Also, the battery really only lasts for 2-3 scans in HD mode.
Thank you for the review, it seems it is comparable in detail for cosmetic models. can you check some measurements of the scanners for accuracy? resolution and detail are less important than accuracy for my applications. (reverse engineering interfaces for modeling parts) again thank you for the effort! looking forward to more video's of this scanner, and maybe the Einstar 'classic' because it is in my price range, compared to this one.
Shining 3D will take back the scanner tomorrow because I released honest review they don't like. If I've time, I'll test dimensional accuracy before returning it.

I never ask anyone to believe me. No one pay me to make videos. (Look at my video quality) First I bought a Ferret from a local dealer, it works great, so I ordered Otter and Raptor from AliExpress when they were available. I didn't receive them before others.
very interested in your opinion on this.. from what i've seen the otter is the better play with the handle/ phone. the near looks pretty much the same as otter small (MARGINALLY better in some scans i've seen but also worse in others) large is further away so easier tracking but worse quality and significantly more expensive. and tbh the fact the software is worse then creality's if laughable .from a company thats been doing scanners for over a decade lol interested to see the full gammut of tests for dark items, large items and stuff
On my further testing after this video, I found that VEGA has a lot of issues on both small and large depth camera. The more I test with different object, the more I found it.
@@Payo-TensileCreator wild they're asking for it back kinda shady that they only wanted a good review. ironically they want you to compare to the miraco which while the vega will do better with dark objects small object has a larger FOV (slightly less detail) and more logical large object fov (slightly larger then og einstar) and WAY better software lol. so even what they want you to compare it to it's not necessarily going to go their way
Just returned an otter...total crap software and pretty much crap scanning ability. It wasn't reviewed as such so I don't trust any of these reviews now. Just make sure you can return any of these "affordable" scanners.
@@digital0785 user never wrong. I used scanner from creality, and it's difficult for me to get a completed scan as it always mis-align and lose tracking. There are many feedbacks over social medias about this as well.
You know every time you guys scan those stupid owls, it's like basically admitting you're a sellout and this is an advertisement. Scan some real objects that take skill and complexity.
There are 3 more videos after this one, scanning a bit more difficult objects. The result was bad and Shinning 3D took back the scanner before I could finish the testing.

You've to do anything to make it tracks.
To be honest, i also used both Otter and Vega, the scanning data are all looks great, but Vega is very portable and make a good job outdoor for me

Yes, that's right. I managed to do small 4 scans without processing and the battery drop below 20%

@@lmaternick it's not crap scanning ability. Software def needs improvement but if you couldn't get a scan out of it it's probably user error.
