One aspect of this weapon that commentators don't point out enough is that flails have a particular huge ergonomic advantage that clubs and other weapons do not have. They don't transfer impact shock back into the hand of the user; the swinging joint interrupts any transfer of shock. If you spent all day bashing things in battle, the impact shock and fatigue from that shock can really hurt your hands. Being able to bash things incredibly hard without the fatigue and discomfort of impact shock is a huge advantage that you should have pointed out.
don't even say all day, just 30 minute of laborsome action gets you enough fatigue can easily end your palm ego. hand Strength Endurance training helps but fighting goes at much higher intensity

I do love this rendition of the medieval flail more so than the ball and chain type.
So I can only ask this, why the heck was THIS not popularized in media instead?!
Don't get me wrong, the ball and chain flail is neat too, but was probably more dangerous to use as compared to the longer-in-reach thresher flail.
It's because the Ball and Chain Flail never existed, it was only seen in artwork during the Crusades as propoganda, while the Thresher Flail does exist. I have fought against a Thresher Flail, they're annoying to fight against!
@HoboJoe2016 that I can agree with as I have gone up again Chain Flails and Threshing Flails in my re-enactment society. They're a pain!

This weapon is really cool! It would definitely take some practice to become proficient with, but most people (me among them) would have no clue how to defend against one.

There should be short bands of leather between the ring of the cudgel and staff, it's not getting full motion. Plus the staff and cudgel are too big/heavy. You'd get tired quick swinging this thing around. It would need to be more like a peasant threshing flail just adapted to warfare with maybe some iron banding or spikes on the cudgel, that's it.
Nah, leather would be too liable to snap under stress if you let it get dry or if it's too thin. A better option would probably be a fibrous plant based material like rope.
Unchanged from existing examples. You get tired if you are soft bodies modern person/untrained.

So just a surgestion the first three round's between the 6, you should have them draw stick's, stick's with colour's pair's them up, then they fight only the that persn three colour's three fight's, none of this hitting an oponant when their fighting some one else it cowardly not knightly atall, the worst two go, then i liked the rest, really guy's a knight would'nt.
