    I own these speakers myself and do recognize the deep low end here. However, the placement in this cabinet, and so close to the wall/back panel, makes them over pronounce the low end. If these speakers have more space to "breath" (rear bass port) , the low end will sound way more controlled. Also 'Dynamic" mode will increase the low end as well. After the 50 hours burn in period, the differences between the EQ settings (Classic, Monitor, Dynamic, Vocal) will be way clearer. I run these in dynamic mode with just a pinch of extra bass and treble at "+ 2 db" . These planar tweeters will give you magical crisp and very detailed high ends, not coming short in any way. Voices, guitars, brass, electro beeps, it's all there in a very nice and detailed way.The low end is powerful, deep and very controlled and detailed without being overwhelming (like in this video) These great speakers sound very close to good headphones.......

      @alleon76 Hope you enjoy them! They also do a great job watching movies I think.

      I bought these used a week ago to replace my old computer speakers (desk sits in a corner against the wall. I agree with you, close to a wall, the bass is super pronounced to the point of fatigue - even with the bass dialed all the way down. It wasn't until after I bought them that I realized this was a problem. If they're bookshelf speakers, why are they not designed to sit on a bookshelf without sounding over pronounced? It's unintuitive naming and kinda frustrating for a newbie like myself.

    just ordered these and they will bein by friday. I really can't wait. these sound amazing! i really wanted the wharfedale diamond 12.1 but the addition of a preamp would require a lot more research. I have an orbit plus that we are going to run into the Edifiers. really cant wait!

    Hi, how are you?, I wanted to ask you if you had issues with the vocal volume.
    Recently I bought the same model, but, for example, if I watch videos which are pure dialog, I have to raise a lot the volume, but if any effect or sound appears, reduce the volume (I tried the Vocal option but it does not make any change). Thanks

    Just trying for weeks to find out which speakers should I buy for my TV. I love listening music and a Soundbar I don't like it. I just sold it and I want to try something else but I don't wanna empty my pockets also. I love how dose sounds, specially the BASS 🙂. Tell me, did you used a subwoofer there?

    • @rdolle990
      @rdolle990 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      :) these can go very deep and low. First time I heard them playing in my living room I let go of any thought of needing a sub. Mids and highs are very good as well and I listen to lot of different kinds of music. Watch pricing for a while on Amzon (Germany in my case) as it's fluctuates a lot.

    I just got this speakers today. They have to settle in for a few weeks. The sound is very clear. A question ... Is it normal that the max volume is 50 on the display???

    • @rdolle990
      @rdolle990 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes they go to 50 indeed. And that is pretty loud. Enough to make things in our living room rattle and shake :) At some point you will need to turn down the bass a bit and the higher frequencies will become a little softer and rounder after the first 50 ish hours of playing.

    • @marcohermans3207
      @marcohermans3207 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rdolle990 ,thanks. In the beginning they sounded very strange. They sounded clean but no balance at all. Harsh high frequencies, bass was too much present. The mids were unnatural. I played with different modes but it was not what I was expecting and suddenly things changed. The weirdness was gone. I play them for 1 hour a day at moderate volume. They are starting to settle in. The bass is still to much for me in dynamic mode and with a little eq I'm getting there. The sound is coming together. The frequencies no longer fight eachother. But they stille have to settle in much longer. They love high res and cd quality music .

    • @rdolle990
      @rdolle990 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@marcohermans3207 Yes they sure need some break in. At the start I had a little too much upper bass and highs became smoother after some time. The EQ and tone settings you use are of course room and personal taste dependent. In the end these are very detailed speakers in both low and high frequency range.
      There are "warmer"and more bad recording forgiving speakers out there but they will not get close to the level of details of these Edifiers. There is real detailed depth and not just an over-pronounced upper base boost. They also do very well being connected to OPT with TV.

      I really trust Z reviews on TH-cam. He has a 40+ minute video on both the Swans and Edifiers. He explains why he thinks the swans are his favorite near field desk speakers, while the Edifiers are his favorite for a living room in their price range.

    • @rdolle990
      @rdolle990 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Swan seems to have very poor quality control and even worse service support. Lot's of complains of DOA's, defecting and waiting for months on Swan service replies to not even get stuff replaced at all.
