    I just bought a Get Lean set. I turned 40 this year, and started boxing back in June. I'm in the best shape I've ever been in. Now I'm setting a goal to be the best at jumping rope in the boxing facility. #wejump #dothething

    I had a cheap boxer type leather rope with weighted handles which was pretty good but wore down real fast. The. I bought a high tested speed rope and that was terrible it was always tangled up and the wire would catch on the handle. Finally bought a cross rope last month, it wasn’t cheap but it’s fantastic kit worth every penny. Makes jumping rope so much more fun.

    In similar fashion to the Jump Rope Dudes, I've used every rope on the market now that's worth trying.
    Re: Buddy Lee Jump rope - It's my favorite for what I'd call the pure joy of jumping rope and it's the rope that made me fall in love with jumping rope and turn it into a daily habit that I'm addicted to. I can put on a playlist of music and just bounce around for an hour and I'm smiling the whole time. Being able to cut it to the perfect length allows you to dial it in way more than the Cross Ropes where you're buying a fixed length. With the length of the handles you can really speed up and slow down your pace instantly. Compared to the Cross Ropes, it's also a lot quieter to use and and packs light for travel (I'm often on the road living out of a suitcase and use a lot of hotel gyms as my jumping grounds).
    Re: Cross Ropes - I own and loves these too (both the original set and new Infinity set), but for different reasons. While the Buddy Lee rope is pure joy, Cross Ropes are really more of an investment in a workout system than a jump rope. Being able to swap out weights of rope is awesome. I just find they're less fun to use (I don't want to spend all day jumping them). It's more about interval training of sorts than just zoning out and jumping rope. I think part of it here is that all of the ropes in this system (even the lightest one) carry a lot of momentum once you start spinning them. So once you get going you're really jumping a rope that's in motion (you have to bend to its will a little bit more) vs. the Buddy Lee rope where you're the master of it and it bends to what you want to do. Also don't like that I can't size the Cross Ropes to my height. I'm 6'1" and find the L size a little too long, which seems crazy given that they're for people 5'9" to 6'2". I take them to my gym and let other people shorter than me use them and they're wayyyy too long. For the amount I'm spending on the ropes would like tighter intervals of sizes to buy. Also, these ropes hurt a lot more when you mess up compared to something like Buddy Lee.
    Totally accurate feedback that the Buddy Lee ropes are not going to last as long. I can get about 9 months out of one (with skipping for 30+ minutes a day, indoor use), and to break a new one in asap you need to boil the rope in water for a couple minutes to get the kinks out of it. I actually bought 15 of these ropes now just to have them for years ahead in case he ever goes out of business, etc. They're also not going to give you the same kind of workout in the upper body that weighted ropes will.
    Overall, think the Jump Rope Dudes do well by recommending Cross Rope, and it's clear that there's passion behind the company and they put quality into the what they build. I just also wish they'd do a rope a little more like Buddy Lee's in terms of feeling so I absolutely LOVE using it for a long playlist session. So my recommendation would honestly be to buy both if you can afford it. Get the new Infinity Cross Rope system (both the Get Lean and Get Strong bundle), then also get a Buddy Lee just to try it out. There's something about it that's just awesome that's worth experiencing.

      CrackBerry Kevin - wow! what a great write up!
      Crossropes DO have a special place in our hearts, just as the market (like you've pointed out). We feel they have many advantages that other ropes simply can't offer.
      For burning fat, conditioning and over all fitness, we LOVE the crossrope!

    I jumped rope for 1 year by crossrope 1lbs. During this period, I suffered from wrist tenosynovitis. After Change the rope(other manufacturer) to 1.25lbs of 'light' handle, I feel more muscles engaged and I no longer experience wrist pain. I think this is because weight of handle. I feel disharmony between rope and handle weight in 1lbs of crossrope.

    • @JumpRopeDudes
      @JumpRopeDudes  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rafy Martinez - all the infinity ropes work with the infinity handles (But you aren't going to use the 1+ pound ropes on the slim handles - it's too tough on the wrists). If you only want one set of handles, we'd recommend you buy the bigger handles.

  • @johnh7464

    I use crossropes every day or almost every day. That gives me that super workout I am looking for. Just ordered the speed rope from rush athletics. I need a rope I won’t mind skipping on surfaces that may tear a rope up quicker. I only use a racquetball court or mat for my crossropes. I need a rope that I don’t have to care about all that much which is where the “money rope” comes in.

Question is, with the correct nutrition and constant hard work how well can i build with a weighted rope? I obviously wont get huge. Thats not my aim anyway.

      daniel Jacobs - a weighted rope is going to challenge your body and engage more muscles. Most sacrifice a little speed an intensity, but it's made for in resistance.

    Hey guys just wondering if the white handles can be used with the 1 and 2 pounds rope as well, or is it best to use the heavier ropes with the black handle only? what are the differences between the handles?

    • @JumpRopeDudes
      @JumpRopeDudes  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      x. Fan - All the infinity ropes fit all the infinity handles, but yes... Using the slim handles with he heavy ropes is really tough on the wrists/grip. We prefer the black infinity handles for the ropes over 1/2 pound

    I'd double like this vid if i could - Can you do a video with the different types of ropes, eg: weighted handles vs weighted rope.. rope vs synthetic vs Cable with heart rate monitor activity on time trial? give us some evidence of the significant difference between ropes?

    Would using the 1/4 lb rope with the black power handles feel substantially weird? Haha. Already have the power handles and heavy ropes but want to get a lighter rope for more speed work. Really wanna keep from buying other handles if I can since they're a bit expensive

    I got the buddy lee aero speed and what threw me off it was the thing had two joints before the rope- one before the ball bearing and one after it. Im used to having just 1 joint so it literally made the rope unusable until I sellotaped part of it together lol. Otherwise its an amazing rope just a little different learning curve

    I just got an Infinity GL set and I love it. I also got the starter kit last year and it's still going strong. Cross Rope is the real deal. Yes it is up there in price but compared to the cheap jump ropes, you get what you pay for. I bought many "cheap" jump ropes in the past and I've broke most of them. Only one made it to six months, most broke within 4 months or less and I had a couple that broke within two weeks. And the ones that didn't brake, well, I quit using them before they had a chance. And I'm talking about jump roping 5 - 6 a week for 30 - 60 minutes a day. Bottom line is, if you want quality, spend the money.

    Are all four ropes interchangeable with either handles ? I'm thinking one light rope & one heavier (1/4lb & the 1lb) should give me plenty of variety, but only want one set of handles. Are the bearings & attachments the same in both sets ? is just down to personal preference on slim or chunky handles ?

    • @JumpRopeDudes
      @JumpRopeDudes  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ian Black - All the infinity ropes will work with all the infinity handles. All the OG style ropes will work with all the OG style handles.
      For both sets, the "quick/slim" handles are best for 1/4 and 1/2 pound ropes. When you start getting into the heavier ropes, they really pull the handles and having that thicker rugged handle is a plus.

    • @ianblack7934
      @ianblack7934 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is the 1/4lb & 1/2 combo a big enough difference for varied workout ? (4 ounce doesn't seem much, but never used a weighted rope ) Currently got a leather 8mm rope (1st rope from Nov17,) quite happy with it but got a birthday (54, #gulp) coming up in March so tempted to get something I will use instead of socks & boxers again !

    • @JumpRopeDudes
      @JumpRopeDudes  6 ปีที่แล้ว

I've been to the crossrope website a number of times. I just can't bring myself to spend upwards $70+ on a rope. I made my own durable rope for under $10.
