We need to protest to be heard as this is serious!
    Cost if living
    Energy crisis
    Recession
    This is concerning!

Thank you for your continued dedication, a couple of useful points for me with spreading the arrears and also my son has left full time education so I am expecting my payments to drop come September, my concern is that they won't and the difficulty in getting these correctly altered.
Would appreciate your advice on this as I think another commenter has raised the subject too.

Child Benefit will stop on 31st August. But you can see if the other person has already cancelled it by reporting a change on the CMS webpage. That triggers a check for child benefit. It may work, but most likely not.

Mandatory reconsiderations can only be requested within 32 days on the back of a change to liability (such as change to income) - change to collect and pay or DEO etc is not a change to the liability. In this case, if you think you’re wrongly on Collect & Pay your best bet is to put in a complaint.
Also if the receiving parent does not give bank details the case won’t go onto collect & pay but the case itself cannot be closed - the CMS has no legal basis to do that

Thanks for raising that. Dont delay do it today... or asap. its easy to let it lapse.

Hi @childmaintenanceuk, do you know of any case when the mother (receiving parent) leaves the country with the child. Based on what I gathered the case should be closed if either the child or receiving parent are permanently out of the country.
Do you know if all I need to do is just make a call? Do they close the case straight away as soon it is reported and proved?
Please let me know if you know anything, thanks

What happens if the RP does not inform CMS or CB of child leaving college. My daughter left but the ex refuses to contact CMS or CB. Its frustrating as I have provided proof but nothing has been done

@@jayskee5816 I asked for mandatory consideration on the subject. CMS refused to accept and I logged an appeal with HMCTS. This was almost 2 years ago. A date for a hearing was set for Jan 24. My ex failed to attend. The judge adjourned the case for ex to appear and explain why she did not inform CMS of Child Benefit that our son had stopped full time education. My advice is do not let the system beat you.

Inform CMS, and HMRC to cancel the child benefit. If not successful, you could ask for a DNA test which would cost £250, but the other parties would need to come back to the UK to do. If the test is refused, then CMS stops, and you get a test refund.

The CMS in its current state is in the control of RP and is so open to abuse

I dont disagree. We see it everyday on our facebook group when receiving parents make false claims of non payment.

After re consideration I spoke to David the great ( in his own head ) after reading all the relevant evidence I sent in he chirps up that I shouldn’t have my son 7 nights and seven days for his mental health ?!!!🙄🤬
After making a complaint and talking to Karen who was superb and agreed he was out of order and that the CMS have cocked up they then offered me a 100 pounds in compensation 😮😮😮😂😂
They’ve sent a text asking for bank details 😮😮
My reply … you’ve got them because you’ve by force took this dreamt up amount from my account !!!!
They’ve tried to butter me up after taking £9k out my account …. They are muppets but as they’ve admitted when I get to court they’re going to have egg on their face !! More like a 4 ft omelette !! 😂😂😂

Hi, please can I ask a quick question? As a paying parent working full-time and getting a little top up from universal credit.
Currently on direct pay but struggling financially at the moment to continue on direct pay. Is it advisable to go on collect and pay? Because I only get a top-up on my wages from universal credit based on my net pay each month. Please advise. Thanks

@@neyopa456 no. They will charge you 20 per cent more if you are on Collect and Pay. That 20 percent is kept by the CMS as admin fees.

Surely if you know you should be paying maintenance and are going into arrears you save it each week so when CMS have sorted it you can quickly pay the receiving parent. Otherwise you are harming your own child by the receiving parent not being able to afford whatever they need. Don’t understand your mentality and this video is very irresponsible.

    • @childmaintenanceuk
      @childmaintenanceuk  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

I can tell from your comments that you dont know how the Child Maintenance Service works. First of all I have not missed any payments. The issue is that the CMS is so inefficient it took them around 9 months to make a change, which was then backdated and created a situation of around £1400 of paper arrears. Which their payment schedule then spreads out over a period my case it has been set up to pay those arrears at just under £7 per week. If you were familiar with the CMS, you would know that you have to stick to the payment schedule. Lump sums payments and overpayments if made outside of the schedule, they do not count as child maintenance payments. So no child has been harmed by me. As a responsible parent I have made all my payments on time and in full, AND CONTINUE TO DO SO.
The Child Maintenance Service has failed the child by not making the changes 9 months ago.
I fail to see why updating receiving and paying parent of changes at the Child Maintenance Service is irresponsible when the CMS have failed to update parents themselves. These things matter, and impact upon all parents and children daily.

? You have made a video bragging that you have extended the repayments to the receiving parent to be over 2 years. Of course you should have saved it every week the change wasn't actioned so YOUR child / children don't have to wait 2 years for it. I do know how CMS works.
