In regards to the clip with the Maverick attacking an invisible target - it was a bug where ground vehicles weren't rendering in properly, and was patched after I recorded the footage for this review. I knew about the bug, and was checking the missile view to make sure it was still tracking. Game-breaking bug for CAS, but it was fixed somewhat promptly.
@@antonisashitteragain6993 Actually there was some ceremony for military officers today, and they flew because of them. It was very unusual to see them and even more of a coincidence, that Tim's video of Gripens dropped the same day.
Considering it is made to land on short runways (including roads) it is a feature that should be in. Tim is not wrong with saying that the canards only slow down the plane a little. This was an awesome review! I just unlocked the JAS39EBS HU C for Italy and man that made the painful grind so much more worth it! I'm just struggling with BVR in this thing as American jets are already pinging my RWR before my TWS even acknowledges their presence lol
6:00 As someone who has been playing the gripen since it was added, I can confidently say that it's been OP the entire time. Also, if I correctly recall, they haven't buffed it once but have nerfed it was it 5 or 6 times now. Just shows how insane it was on launch I guess.
Given that it pulls way better sustained turn than it can in real life, even still after all the nerfs, according to the two trials of the A and C that had performance data leaked out of them (Swiss and Indian trials) and yes, it very much was over performing the entire time. Heck, it still is. That said most everything still is so *shrug*. The real issue is that Gaijin will never, ever get it close to accurate, or any other jet that was introduced into service post Vietnam for that matter, because of classified information and Gaijin's understandable unwillingness to use any leaked information. So basically Gaijin is making $hit up for everything at top tier.
I'm grinding rank 4 Sweden rn with the A-21 but I wonder if the 109s are better suited for the average player to progress quicker? Amazing quality as always Tim 👏🎉
Just gridded the tree myself, the a21 have rly good guns but engine is lacking, I would say its better for new players. The 109 is the good old german plane, great climbing e decent agility. Both planes are great, but be aware that rank V and VI are pain, I suggest getting a premium or sticking to the 105g and j29f.
I was sad when Canada went with the F-35, because they had been looking at the Gripen, being from the US that would have been my only chance to see a Gripen in North America. Closest one otherwise is Brazil. Great review!
about the canard angling on the landing if you're not in sim control they wont angle at full potential like in the video thay are only at 50% of what they can do. Also the british one is a little bit different than the other ones since it has access to R-darter which pull 5 more G but seams to behave weird according to some.
I'm honestly a bit worried for the future of War Thunder. At the rate they add new aircraft, soon minor nations will start to run out of vehicles to add. After (for example) the F-22s and F-35s get added, what else will there be to add? Will they just add modifications? Or entirely conceptual or fictional aircraft? Anyways, keep up the amazing work tim, looking forward to more content! (Please do more swedish jet stuff!!)
Tim In fact, Brazil participated in the development of the Gripen NG and we used the Gripen E/F, which was an absurd big leap for us, because before the Gripen we used Mirage 2000BR (used 2000-9) and modernized F5( which was the vast majority of aircraft.)
