There are two kinds of rhythm game players: one who likes hit sfx, and one who doesn't.
I am the one who likes it. It helps me sync the hit sfx with the song beats. But not all games. Some few have terribly unique sound effects that they kill the song. I would prefer to turn off one in those games.
also, don't forget resource heavy games that ultimately gives input, sound, or visual lag. that totally kills me.

    • @kagerouprojess9851
      @kagerouprojess9851 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

@@bmo3778 I'm most certainly the latter here. I like to hear the music in full, and having sfx for hitting notes can sort of take away from that enjoyment. The on-screen feedback without any other sounds is enough to keep me on rhythm, but I can totally understand how it can be helpful to some ppl as well.

    REAAAAALLY want this controller.
I'm one of the few people that have the full size arcade controller that was made for the PS3 that has a mini touch pad at the bottom.
Lots of work with converters to get it to work on the PS4 and Switch (did that also to get my Hori Wii exclusive large taiko drum to work on the switch).
Aaaaah, so upset that I missed out on getting one like you....
Got an extra or up for sharing the one you have?

You sure? Pretty sure there are far worse things, also if it was metal, it could have ended up in a price wall no one would ever pay.
Also, too many buttons is your argument of it not being good? You never played the game correctly or what? Even if we don't use everything, as a mecha fan, that thing is the closest it ever made to me to the feel of being inside one, so, I think you haven't really found the real purpose of the controller.

They're so expensive and I'm garbage at Rhythm games. Lol! But on a serious note. Unless you're worried about the controller breaking and having it take it back to Hori, I say just go ahead and open it. Most people who are interested in arcade parts are usually expecting it to already be tampered with or going to tamper with it themselves. If I had the controller I would immediately take the feet off the bottom and stick 3 mm foam across the entire base. poke holes in the foam for the screws and put it back on. The foam will probably help with some of the sound residence as well.

Thanks for the overview! I have one of the PS4 versions coming later this year, just got in on Hori's second order =3
Small note: the "original" Project Diva games are actually the PSP games, they came first. Project Diva Arcade was adapted from them, not vice-versa. Is a common misconception, I've seen a lot of folks referring to PJD Arcade as the "original" Project Diva game, but they were PSP games first!
Also, never use the shoulder buttons for slides when playing with a controller, use the analog sticks!! Shoulder buttons can't do some of the double slides so you have to use the analog sticks for them anyway, and the shoulder buttons can be re-bound to other buttons as needed but the analog sticks can not

Was curious on your preference if you haven't already said. Between the victrix pro or the mixbox, what's your preferred and go to controller of choice? I was leaning towards mixbox pretty heavily personally.

I want one of these so much!!! I had seen it a while ago on Play-Asia and since it said “Q2 2020” for the release date, I thought it was a product that was gonna be available for purchase later this year. I had no idea that they had actually been a preorder item only, and that they were just gonna ship in Q2 of this year. It makes me so sad! ;A; Hopefully they do a 2nd run, or maybe they have them for regular purchase for a while. If not, then I guess I’ll have to try my luck with a reseller in the future.

NihongoGamer I do too. I hope that the demand for the preorders was more than they expected, and hopefully they’re inclined to produce a second run. I’ll definitely keep an eye on it. I’ll be ready! >:3 I hope I don’t have to deal with stock running out, or having to buy from resellers. (I mean, if I have to, I’ll save up and buy it from a reseller, even if it’s a bit more expensive. I really want the controller, it’s so cool!!)

thing some people would do with this, is play smash with it since it works with switch and has analog sticks, making it so you can control your character properly. I have no idea how they’d use something like the slide pad and stuff, but it’d be interesting to see it in a Top 8 in ultimate!
