Such great awareness raising about Prader-Willi syndrome, thank you for sharing your story. Best wishes from all of us at the International Prader-Willi Syndrome Organisation.
My son is 11yrs old and also has Prader-Willi. We had unbelievable success putting him on a carnivore low carb diet. It cut his hunger and food seeking by more than half and he was able to loss a substantial amount of weight. Please look into this. No need to count calories or restrict food on this diet. Doctors are shocked at the results, our whole family eats this way.
That sounds incredible. Keep it up. David generally eats healthy and meats, dairy etc. Similiar to your diet. We also believe that we dont need to count calories and live life to the fullest.
it is a torture to feel hungry all the time. I went through that when I was pregnant and had to eat every 30 mins. ate and puked, ate and puked. *LOL* I went to the doctor to seek help to stop the hunger pangs but he told me to just eat during this period of time.... I pity this boy!
Very happy boy and looks very healthy, kudos to the family for such great work. My niece was born half year ago with prader willi and I pray there is more advances in drugs to help with the hunger and mood swings so when she gets older this condition can be less impactful in her life.
Maybe this is an unhelpful suggestion but could drugs work that also help against binge eating disorder? I take ADHD medication (Elvanse / Vyvanse) that’s also used to treat binge eating disorders and they make me not feel hungry at all. I‘m also wondering if Ozempic could work. I believe it also lowers hunger and appetite. But obviously those work on people who don‘t have Prader-Willi so it might not have that affect on them.
I had a friend in my old school with the same condition and it was really tough for me and my classmates. He would get mad when teacher stopped him from refilling his plate during lunch (lunches were like the kids grab their portions and eat while teachers just guard), he would cause trouble in PE, scream in people’s ear, he would snatch the bikes from year 3 kids during playtime, force people to get off the swing so he can take a turn saying “I am going to swing for a few minutes then you guys go” but indeed never allow us to get a turn and a lot more but one of the things the entire class hates about him is that back then my water bottle had one of those water mist sprayer function and when I went to the toilet or get my stationery from my locker, he would spray the mist on his face and wipe it so I wouldn’t notice but luckily I had my friends who would wait till I come back and say “He used your water bottle to use the misty thingamajig” and as you would tel I would get mad. He always tried relying on us to stand up for bullies but he never learnt his lesson that sometimes he has to try to stand up on his own although he keeps on saying “I promise I will learn my lesson”. Therefore, we still try to respect him at the same time try not to put him in our pride.
Why not try fasting and dry fasting to cure the hunger part of prader Willi syndrome? Because in fasting your body eats it’s own stored fat so they are not going to be hungry if they are fasting because there body is already eating there stored fat instead of food.
He does not look well-nourished. You should try making nutrient dense food with minerals and naturally pre and pro biotic food. There is always a bs diagnosis that leads people not to try to improve underlying issues.
Trust me, he is very well - nourished. He eats a well balanced diet. It is really not easy to improve their many issues that they go through. Many issues need lots of repetitions and time to improve. We are working very close with his school and he has come a long long way. He is managing himself pretty well at the moment.

The puking was probably what was causing the hunger
When I see someone that has a meltdown in public I normally just irogne them because as someone that has a disability I can understand why they do it
Amazing parents, they are the reason he isn't overweight

Unlike some people with Prader-Willi syndrome, David is not overweight.

Yea what’s sad is the food pyramid diet makes their hunger 100 times worse with all the sugar and carbs.
I love her german accent!
I am also hungry all the time.
Sounds like we all have this disease
God Bless you

You better fast with drinks water help body get rid of diseases.

He is missing a part of a chromosome (if not the whole), it's gonna be a bit hard to fix the underlying issue

Don't eat me, though. I'm skinner than bone.
Try to express more intelligent thoughts.
HUH??? This is a disease??? I’m always hungry too. Oh my gosh
Pws is a very specific condition and presentation of which insatiable hunger is just one of the many issues
