I remembered the first year I was on SWAT, trying to get used to the kit. My neighbors just shook their head as I was mowing the grass in shorts and my entry vest and gas mask. Lady Tac made me stop doing the gas mask thing, as she was worried I was going to have a heat stroke, she was probably right, you don't realize how brutal mowing the grass can be until you're doing it with extra weight on.
I did the whole 'transparent drafting ruler on the computer screen w/1080', and I'd say you gained 3" on the vertical, up from about 20.5", or +14%. Nice work!
I'm just about to start working out again after nearly 2 years off any regimen. I'd be surprised if I could do a single pull up with that vest on. Watching you is impressive and inspirational. Makes me excited to get back in shape.
Holy crap, 6 pull up improvement in one week! It took me 3 months to get from 8 pull ups to 20 pull ups. And I just did max rep each day with one day of rest. Improved by one rep each rep until after 16, took a little more time. Props to you! I’ll try if!
I improved pullups by doing it with weight and maxing out resting maxing out again until I could literally do zero it got me from 14 to 23 in a month or so
Try doing pull ups in pyramid reps too. Good gains from that. Also want to do 8-12 reps. If you can do over 20 pull ups, try adding weight ie- 20 pounds Max out. Take off weight do another 4 or 5 pull ups or as many as you can. Use resistance bands and Max out once more. (No rest period in between)
@@yuthecmdh4xx0rakanohomo83 no pyramids is say your doing a pyramid of 8 you would do one pull up hop off the bar then do 2 hop off, same thing building up then you get to 8 now your going down. Do 8 hop off then do 7 hop off rinse and repeat

its been a year, did you start? if not, you'd be surprised how easy it is to get into working out. literally start with 1 push up. 2 days later, do 2. just keep increasing. eventually you will get mad at yourself for skipping a day. this is how we form good habits. you'll keep progressively overloading, and adding in new workouts.
I love the fact that your father is just cool with you wearing a weight vest for a week. He's probably used to hearing things like that from you by now.
Well i can tell you from my exp, back when i started working in the army, we didn't take the west off for basically 3 months, i got a lot of stronger, i also lost like 10 kilos, and i was able to run an absurd amount of distance at a REALLY high pace. Its hard as hell but it works.
Lost 50,7 kgs in the last 9 month (doing Keto & Omad). Been big since late teens really, so got rejected by the military & basicly been having a 40 to 70 kgs "weight vest" on for 30 years. Its kinda weird to finally have the "vest" off, but it certainly is noticable. A bit hard to measure of cause because Keto also means that you loose muscle when fasting but regaining when eating & its a lot of protein too. Of cause before i got winded just taking a few steps & now i can run up stairs. Not that im afraid of doing a "elephant in a glass store" but i cant help myself walking a bit carefully still. Changing habits takes time i guess :)
Sick dude. You’re probably capable of even more than what you showed bc if you tested yourself on the day that you took the vest off you were def still dealing with some fatigue

I remember 'back in Iraq', wearing ~50lb of kit every day, and coming home to garrison where all of a sudden I wasn't, and yeah my PFT was better. Then in the civilian sector as a patrol cop, wearing 27lbs of kit every shift. Now that my job doesn't require me to wear heavy kit, I can tell the difference. My core has weakened substantially, I used to never have to do abs, just run, lift, and go to work.....between the lifts, the runs, and the weight I wore for 12+ hours a day, I didn't need to work core.
I've seen a couple of them. Not sure when it was popular to test these, but just regular work outs would give the same improvements without risking injury to your joints. Long term, protecting your joints and having opportunities to recover allow you to more consistently work out. Consistency is the key to getting in shape.

In military you get used to wearing a bulletproof vest all the time and then you end up doing everything you do wearing it. I can say that is builds up a lot of core strength and overall endurance since in the beginning even most basic things are very rough, so in my opinion a weight vest is very good way so get in a better shape even if you don't really like training.

I’ve always thought this kind of thing could be a neat way to train for wearing medieval armor, for reenactment and stuff. Much easier to set up then getting a squire to help you suit up, and if you do it right, you could probably get good enough that you could move in full armor as though it were merely a second skin.
A full plate armor the most advance before gun made them obsolete. Weigh around 30lbs. Plus sword and shield knight carry a fraction of the weight a modern soldier carries today around 150lbs of equipment. So yeah knights in full armor would move like they are wearing regular clothing

Just because someone weighs 20-50 pounds more than you doesn’t mean they do jack shit
@@zombieinkhakis6891 Relax dude, it’s a joke. There’s a very noticeable difference between the two, visibly in the muscle tone of their bodies as well in their attitudes and lifestyles.

I remember when this guy was making parkour videos/tutorials that I would watch as a kid to learn to do a backflip. What a long ways to come.
