As you discovered for yourself, the sweet spot is to live in Jomtien where it's more chill and then you're one 10 Baht away from the party scene in Pattaya. You didn't even scratch the surface of things to do. Go vlogs though man! Stay well

There is so much more to Pattaya than just the bar girls. Sanctuary of Truth is an awesome wooden temple to check out. Watching sunset from the Hilton skybar. Day trip over to Koh Larn.
For sure, every city has it's chilled side. Heard mixed things about Sanctuary of Truth. If I was around longer, I'd check a few more things out.

The funny part is that when you really start to know your way in Pattaya you will realize it's not that bad as most think. Told this before, Pattaya is a lot more then bargirls and the party scene...
For sure, every city has more chilled sides. It's probably most well known for the bars though. When I have more time, I'll be seeing more of the city.

Top video mate. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes indeed bunk up in Jomtien and go fishing down to Pattaya via the baht bus whenever its necessary. That'll be my plan if I ever go back there. I am glad you enjoyed the experience. Well done Wayne 🤩 Oh I remember plenty of bars there with live music, generally thais that have their own rock bands. I spent many nights out and about at those places. Loved it. Soi 8 was always good for that and also the Soi where I stayed in Flipper Lodge. Geez man that was 20 odd years back. Never been there since sadly. 🤩

I avoid malls like the plague but terminal 21 looks super cool!
I liked Terminal 21, it was different from the usual Central in Chiang Mai, for me.
I also haven't been a mall guy. But great new ones in Bangkok.
Come over to Chumphon mate! Thung Wua Laen beach is great. A bit of life but relaxed too.

Glad you enjoyed your visit Wayne . It’s compulsively addictive so good to leave now while you can . Found the noise oppressive and prefer Phuket which is similar but manageable and a better experience.
It does have the effect of wanting to stay. It sort of feels like I'm missing out if I leave. But time to go mate.

I didn't think pattaya would be your cup of tea, it's not mine either, I'm like you, I prefer places like Chiang Mai.
If you would have jumped on the Baht Bus from Terminal 21 it would immediately turn onto Beach Road going the other direction saving you walking. Then you can cut through any of the small streets or through the Central Festival Mall in the air conditioned Mall. 😂

I think you missed quite a lot, Soi 6, Walking St etc. I lived in Pattaya for 18 months but it was crazy every night and it does get boring. Then I moved to Jomtien and have a beautiful condo overlooking the ocean, I get away once a month to one of the islands, it`s a great life.
Done Soi 6 and walking street buddy. But sure, still loads more to do. I have a good time 👍

Terminal 21 has an outside place upstairs….at night it’s beautiful. A drink at the rooftop Hilton at sunset is always fun too.

Come to Nong Khai mate, it's a smaller town, but beautiful along the Mekong. It has enough going on, and a few expats, but not too turistic. I like it here. I lived in Chiang Mai for more than a year before, but this time, I want to be in a smaller town.

The T21 food court is cheap due to no rent being charged to the eateries. Used to attract as many customers as possible for the other shops.

I haven't got a clue mate, I need to work out the damage when I get back to Chiang Mai. My spending has been all over the place. I've not spent nothing crazy, but a lot more than I normally would. I'll do a vlog on what I spent after this trip is finished.

I download the Bolt taxi app and get around on the motorbike taxis. Ridiculously cheap.
Bolt is always handy in places. I tend to use bolt and grab less and less these days. Normally from Airports in to town.

Growing up in the USA I never dreamed about not saying hello to someone who said hello to me, no matter who it was. In Pattaya and surrounding areas there are too many Eastern European people who look at you like you have 2 heads if you say hello to them (I guess its a sign of weakness to them) and the last thing on their mind is to say hello first. This creates an entire town into selfish behavior because nobody wants to say hello and be looked at as if they are strange for saying it.. Some may think its corny to say hello to a stranger, but the alternative is what you see in Pattaya and Jomtien in my opinion one of the hottest and coldest vacation destinations in the world.

Aha. Charlie Chaplin.. 😁. So all the Terminal 21s in Thailand must be like this.. one destination per floor. I've only been in the one on Sukhumvit in Bangkok. Hmm.. there's a thought. That same Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok passes through Pattaya. A motorbike trip from Pattaya to Bangkok only using Sukhumvit Road would be epic! 😁 The smell.. supposedly the raw sewage from town gets pumped into the bay through a long pipe that ends somewhere offshore. If this is true swimming at the beaches in town might not be a good idea.. 😁

I've been to Pattaya twice, heading there for a third time in May. Have never dabbled in the sex scene but no judgement towards those who do.

Had visit Pattaya 2 times per year since 2015, the problem of Pattaya today is over price, especially on walking street, 180b per chang beer, 360b per lady drink, and different way to get your money.
Damn, yeah that is a bit pricey for me.

100% with you. I can visit Jomtien for a week or two and have a great time. But I cannot see myself expat life In Pattaya, the bar scene will get tired soon enough. Chiang Mai has many more options, it is a university town, you meet interesting locals, food is great, great jazz and the lush north right by the door. You can meet somebody at a bar, mall or coworking space and have a regular talk without the boom boom offer two minutes into the conversation. No judgement, there is something for everybody. I prefer Chiang Mai.
It's also got horrible air quality 4 months of the year. Every time i go to Thailand i come back with a cough 😢, and i don't even go to the north

Nice video I'm Ossie from Bristol United kingdom, this is my first day back home in Bristol I was in Bangkok 3rd to 9 January then 3 weeks in Pattaya then 1st February I went to Siem Reap Cambodia 25 nights then 7 nights Davao City Philippines then back to Pattaya until home to Bristol 20th March, I love the weather far east countries but sex is a big factor to be honest in Bristol I get nothing, but Pattaya doe's get boring unless you have a good hobby interest other than sex in my opinion, I might consider going to Chang mai again but what is there to do in Chang mi? with women- for me it's not so much the challenge, but instead I get "turned on" when a woman also likes me in the that way. So, I agree the small town women in the north are also better for me too. Some will say "they are about the money is both north and south" But, even if they are thinking about "farang money" I think the small town women are looking for more long term, and therefore a lot less of the attitude of "I can put up with this guy for an hour or two" and more "I may be able to enjoy spending time with this guy"

There is a place in Jomtiem does that same breakfast for 99 thai baht jumping jacks sports bar some people eat every day in those food courts Wayne they eat on 200 baht per day I use to spend 300 thai baht fish and chips is 169 in Pattaya
