If not you could simply draw a line to a shape layer manually and snap it to the map. If you have tracked the trip with the phone or have any other data available you could import .gpx, .kml, .kmz, .csv, .tsv, .shp and of course .geojson to the browser and draw it as you would do with a calculated route."

Great tutorial! I really appreciate the explanation. This may be an easy adjustment, but what is the best way to increase the size of the Label Templates that are included with GEOlayers 2? Everything is working great, but I'm concerned the text will not be legible on smaller screen sizes.
Keeping in mind that this is more of a basic tutorial, I feel most of this is achievable in AE already, just in other ways. Id like to see what else it has to offer, which I'm assuming makes it stand out! Looking forward to more on this product. Thanks for the tut!

I followed the steps and got stuck when I added the marker. It follows the first path but then stops (and doesn't continue to paths 2, 3 or 4 even though they are all in the contents of the route). Any ideas?
Hmm, I don't know, as I made this tutorial over a year ago and it's a little fuzzy in my memory. It might be an issue with the shape elements not be grouped, or vice versa. Or maybe even a Trim Paths issue. I would play around with that a bit, and if you still can't figure it out you can email the creator and ask on the AEscripts product page.

Awesome! Man thanks for the purchase. So I'm not sure about specific roads via GEOlayers. I'll ask the creator if you can do that with the plugin and get back to you with an answer. I have, however, done this in combination with Google My Maps. Check out this tutorial- th-cam.com/video/9lM104HjcV8/w-d-xo.html You'll essentially create a custom route via Google My Maps and then export it as a KML file, which you can then import into GEOlayers. To choose the streets you want in Google My Maps, simply grab the path and drag it around as I do in the tutorial. Does that make sense?
@@tommytatham4649 So the creator mentioned that you can put up to 5 locations when you're creating a route within GEOlayers. So if you want to create something more intricate than that, you'll want to go the Google My Maps method.
So much better than the actual Geo Layers tutorials. Needed a quick refresher because I haven't used the plugin in a while. Great tutorial. I have Geo Layers 2 and it's always gotten the job done. I've checked and am unable to upgrade without paying again for GL3. How different is 3 vs. 2? Would it be easy enough to follow along your GL3 tutorials while using GL2?

Great video very simple to follow, but I have just started as a hobby so do not want to really pay a subscription to After Effects. I have invested in Adobe Premiere Elements to make my youtube videos and I am experimenting with Gimp. I have managed to do a 3D route of Stelvio Pass from our tour this year using your help, its my first stab but a bit more time and practice is all I need. The tool itself looks good, but I see great legal risks using it. For instance, the use of bing maps is very doubtful no matter the attribution. Microsoft has licensed third party satellite imagery, but that doesn't mean that you can use it for your own videos. There have been cases where a data provider called Blom sued and fined people for using Bing Maps screenshots. So I unless the legal situation has changed, this seems extremely risky to use commercially.
Looking forward to seeing your future Google Earth Studio tutorials, the moving track path on the mountain is what I want to add to my tour videos. My improved attempt using Google Earth Studio and Premiere Elements 18 is here th-cam.com/video/3DABhTL4GqE/w-d-xo.html, you can see I still need a lot of practice.

this plugin work also for 3d tracks? For example a track with changes of altitude
You have to use it in conjunction with other plugins like Mettle Freeform Pro, Rowbyte Plexus, or Trapcode Mir.
Besides Geomaps 2, which plugin was used to create the 3d map of Mt. Everest?
I think it was Mettle Freeform, but I'd have to look. GEOlayers has it listed on the product page.

That's because you need to finalize the map. This will download all of the high resolution imagery, and it's best to do it just before you export.
