I taught gymnastics for many many years. One day as I left my gym I thought "How sad that such innocence would look up to ME of all people"...but I went every day & told each child how special they were in their own unique way anyway, because I knew that what we show & tell our kids that day creates the future, & not all of them heard positive words. "Do not send the little ones away, for such is the Kingdom of God"- Jesus No matter who you are, from Jesus to the most lowly coach, you can make the future better by investing in a child. Much Love All

You are a beautiful person. Physical, mental and emotional attributes. Many are not born with this. Nature , nurture , many do not have these
    Y
However....you are brilliant and an inspiration to everyone on the globe. Angel ....Greek for messengers.
    Never be quiet .

Are we starting to talk body language for TED shows now?

Great message. Check out Sudbury Valley School and schools modelled on it (around the world) even in Denmark.

What is her point? This is a self serving talk. She is boasting about her achievements, however great they may be, a talk should be more than that. Quality of Ted talks is diminishing!

she is empowering others with HER story, she is telling her story and adversity she faced to prove others it is possible to overcome pain and oppression! Children need someone to believe in them and motivate when the world may be against them

MyVoice you don’t need to listen to it... she’s giving a good and meaningful speech and you’re over her insulting her and her speech. That’s so messed up.

Do you need a summary so you understand the message about empowering children? 1. Stop telling children they are bad. 2. Encourage the positive qualities 3. Increase support from the social system 4. Start by you being of help by saying something positive to a single child

@@lionneveroaw3594 No need for a summary from this talk - the less I hear, the better. I truly don't find this talk well presented by SG. And by the works we have seen from her in Denmark... ...well, let's just say, she had enough talk time for a while now. Similar, and far more professional speakers about the subject can be found easily many other places.
