  • Made an adapter plate to fit a 370 motor on a SCX24 just to see how it performed. I was actually impressed with how well it turned out.

    Very cool. I saw this on Amazon and figured I better check it. Half the price of furitek stuff and keep stock controller. Way cool. Brass is nice but I put lead stick on wheel weights inside my tires. (Trim to fit)Glue them right to the beadlock ring. Keeps it planted. Thanks for the review!

      Not truly a review, I kinda came up with it 😅. But yes, the amazon "kit" is a copy of this and should work the same 👍☺️.

    I finally got this motor in my scx24... and I love it!
    With regard to ridiculous power there are 2 basic options:
    The HH Revolver, and the 370.
    The Revolver is like a Ferrari, and the 370 like a muscle car (I know, they're crawlers).
    So this 370 has awesome modulation in the scx24, and also speed. Im using the Hot Racing 32T aluminum spur that comes with an 8 or 9 tooth pinion, and a 370 Dynamite motor.
    Being at .5mod, the gears though less teeth, are about the same size as stock. But with those bigger teeth... it has a distinct growl to it!
    Work to lower your CG and buy some "Low and Heavy" upgrades, bcuz it sits a bit high.
    *** also try to get out of the bad habit of a "punchy finger", see that all over the place, with this power you will brake parts. Its not a style, its bad driving. ***
    I love it! My favorite upgrade yet!
    Thank you, I'll keep watching for your upgrades my friend!

    The best I have done with a completely stock model is 51 degrees. I use an ironing board with its standard cloth cover to test. I also use a "Clinometer" app on my phone. I will make some mods and retest it as we go. Weight distribution is 53% front and 47% rear. Stock.

      52 Degrees was the breaking point. I actually got about 50 degrees.

    • @Gamyrc

      They defdinetlynhelp a lot, its about 27g per wheel. On this video I had mounted the front shocks on the frame accidentally trying to hurry and mis the rain thats why it was sitting a bit higher in the feont. Had the shocks been on the right possition it may have looked even better :)

    • @Gamyrc

    That's an awesome motor conversion. It sucks I had one of them spur pass motor plates but I didn't plan on doing a brushless conversion so I traded it for some double barrel shocks along with a few other things and after seeing your video I wish I would have kept that motor plate because I could have done the same thing I even could have ran a brushless motor I have that's a different type it doesn't spin on the outside I never thought that it will work on that mount until I seen your video. Thanks for the good idea and I just subscribed to your channel I have a channel called MV Nichols only have a subscriber so far cuz I just started.lol

    Why didn’t axial put this motor in from the start

    • @Gamyrc
      @Gamyrc  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They want to save money and keep from making too strong of a vehicle that would self destroy if put in some young kids hands I bet. The tiny stock wont break anything although it will burnup super quick😂

    • @derrickwilliams2903
      @derrickwilliams2903 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because it is entirely unnecessary and likely makes crawling performance worse. My stock SCX24 would do 49 degrees incline and 37 degrees side slope. That is measured with a carpeted board and actual angle meter (not a cheesy phone app).

      You can use stock spur if you want slowest speed and just use a 10t mod 0.3 pinion for the motor. Just make sure it has a 2mm bore.

  • @MrsRabbit8
    @MrsRabbit8 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I now need to order my motor, but I'm seeing variations.
    What turn motor should i get, if you were to guess?
    I like the stock speed of the scx24, no slower, because this one will be a trail/crawler, somewhat in between crawler and trail.
    Thanks for the video, I look forward to more creations!

      Right now it's got two of the stock motors. It's got enough power, but not enough for what I want to do with it, but also I don't want to be super slow.

    How are you fitting a 59t spur? Even the Losi hot racing 57t spur is way tight against the transmission output after grinding the shaft down with a Dremel on mine. 59 was obviously worse which is why I even bothered with 57t, but it's still rubbing the output shaft
