I did same thing with my barrage motor. I swapped the wires on the plug end. I showed how to do it in my motor upgrade video too. You’re right. Not a lot of people talk about doing it this way.
@@UpperLeftRC yeah I was a little discouraged at first with the thought of having to solder. I have a soldering iron but haven’t done it too much. I was looking at the motor and thought it’s a real shame to have to do this wire swap with what will end up being a botched up soldering job and then it hit me. Why swap the wires at the motor when I can just flip these little tabs up on the plug and swap those instead.
You could cut out a space in the bed of the truck for the 900mah battery then make a cover in the bed that looks like a crate or toobox to cover up the space for the battery.
I get the 900 in my chevy its tight but moving the velcro hold down I was able to fit it though about trimming the bed and making a faux cover for the bed.
I got three of these motors and none seemed any different than stock. I found a losi micro motor and installed it boy does my axial scx24 rip now. If you can find one give it a try 👍
I bought the urgentx and it blew my barrage motor, glad they worked for you, mine did not have the pull tab, maybe I got a bad one. Ok though cause I ended up buying a Mofo Motor and it’s awesome. Another great video bro!
Most people re-locate the battery to the front and drop it lower. So maybe the larger battery would fit. I was surprised you had the battery still in the back up high with the weight of it there
I ran into that thick battery issue on my first Valkyrie build with the 3S batteries. Couldn't hinge it closed with anything thicker than the stock batt. Had to move the battery in that case. I'm working toward doing some more brushed motor builds as well soon. Have you tried an OX or MOFO brushed?
Great video, a lot of mistake avoidance advice. Thanks for sharing. BTW, I came here looking for motor info but want to ask what wheels you have on the deadbolt in the video? I searched through your other videos and haven't found one with those discussed/being installed.
Loving your videos, Im new to the scx24 seen - so enjoyable :). Could you swap the esc and battery locations over so you could utilise the 900mah lipo?
That's how I did my barrage motor. Just depin the wires and flipped the wires. I'm also a mechanic so I've dealt with de pinning and flipping wires in full scale before. 😂😂
These motors rule, burned 2 stock motors within a couple months of adding 60-75G (first could’ve been due to overtorqued wheels) haven’t burned one of these up within the 9 months it’s been on my 450G rig. I just drilled holes into my stock motor plate for HR motors so I never have to worry about screw placement again

Right?! And it such a simple fix to a daunting problem for a lot of people lol but I’m glad you talked about it in your video too 😄👍🏻

On many remotes you can just flip the swtich on there to reverse forward and reverse
You can loosen the bolt and raise the body mounting points/arms on the front. Just a quick tip. And thank you for your video!
Thanks for the tip 🤙🏻
Glad to see the channel back!

I have the chameleon fury tech moter and the wires are just fine

I have the OX and Furitek lizard on my Betty, hands down the best combo of any other motors in my fleet. 🤘🤘🤘

Sweet. I broke my solder gun and haven’t replaced it and have and extra motor. I’m going to try and change the tabs. Thanks man! Lol.

6:24 even if you raise the body posts of the deadbolt?

I haven’t tried the ox or mofo yet but I did order the brushless mofo motor to try out 😄👍🏻
I had the same issue with my batteries, I picked up 800mAh batts, but they fit in my Baby Avenger scx24 as well as my modded Kyosho Mini-z Jimny
Dope! 🤘🏼😄
Swapping the wires is a possibility but after doing this your color codes aren’t correct anymore. You can also use this trick to reverse your servos.
Did you switch the spur gear or any of the transmission gears with the hot racing motor?
Nope, just installed the motor to the standard transmission
A lot of people swap the battery position for the ESC, for better weight distribution, so would the wire reach then?
Probably

The tires are knock offs of the crawler wheels I have on the Chevy and the wheels are RC4WD wagon wheels installed backwards
What rims are those on the green deadbolt I’m loving them bro!!
They are RC4WD steel stamped wagon wheels 👍🏻
Hello from southeast alaska
Sick videos!
Thanks 😄👍🏻
How do you keep the pinion on and from slipping I swapped my old pinion onto the new motor and it slips since there is no texture on the motor shaft
All the motors is purchased have had pinions already on the motor shaft
Good content I have a hard time on my channel doing videos like this good job bro
The carbon Chassis looks Great ✊
I have those exact same 900mah batteries and run them in my deadbolt with no problems
Nice video 👏
How many cans of foam did you end up using on your resent coarse ?
I think it was around 8 cans in total
Im 4 deep and i I think im going to try out the tunnels like you did because its pretty sick

I’m sure you can, really you can move around anything you want on these little crawlers
I think that might be what some of the "low center of gravity" battery mount kits do that folks have on eBay/etsy!
What would be the fastest scx24 motor? I really want a motor that can sing some mud without altering the gearing to much.
I’m not 100% sure but I know BullGearRC has a video about his “Mega MudBolt” build he did and that thing has a ton of wheel speed!
Makes me wonder who tested this before putting it out. Quality control ?
No kidding lol

No links...
Nice
I've been popping them plugs out and changing them every since the 1st one I got i don't know why people solder it neither
🤘🤘🤘🤘
Why not switch the control to reverse?
You could do that but then it would drive me nuts knowing the switch was in the reverse position lol
wow that just blew my mind hahah who needs soter

I would check that capacitor on the back of the motor. most are marked pos. and neg. soooooooo.
Hasn’t exploded yet lol
You can run portals as a fix to polarity, 😂
If I can get ahold of some then I for sure will!
First buddy!
🤘🏼😂 you definitely are!
Dude, for your safety. Don't show the view out the window.
