That front sub caught me by surprise, wish I could hear it in person, I own a 7.5 R and I'm definitely close to jumping on the front sub wagon, with such low profile ideas being shown, I'd also be happy to sacrifice my glove box compartment for the right looking one, I'll never be a passenger in my own car but I feel like the glove compartment is under utilised in many front sub builds, although it does look very difficult for someone who's never fabricated anything in with fibreglass or milkshake or anything, hell I can barely throw together a sub box making straight cuts hahaha. Although it's totally different materials and tools, I suck with saws but I'm good with symmetry and sanding so who knows. Great work on the sub front sub though, love the stealth look fabric was a great match on the cover and box too. 😊

Awesome work my friend. I’m currently doing a similar build here in Australia but I’ve had to go with speaker pods for my 3 way setup as I’m running 3” helix mids.
I’m also using high level input into my helix M4. Would love to use digital but I also love using my music apps on the main screen which you would have to use your phone for with the smsl po100 correct?

Really interested in how you retained all OEM MOST functions. Did you cut OEM wiring from fender amp or use an integration device?

Im golf 7.5 most 150 integrated so full digital all factory functions sound and phone retained, you can use most interface even if you didn't have premium stereo option from factory but Australia where the original comment you replied to person is from, we got dynaudio not fender, dynaudio makes the fender system look like total trash, but same amp and sub enclosure is used but we get real dynaudio tweeters and door drivers albeit with the usual oem plastic baskets. I haven't and won't swap them out I've kept them running and just got full active front and rear on all the oem dyn stuff actually sounds bloody awesome those factory dyn speakers can play Loud af on clean power, I've got two JL Audio HD 600.4 which can do 150WRMS at any impedance from 1 or 1.5 to 8 ohms. HD 1200.1 & JL 13w7 in a 58 litre sealed birch ply enclosure (for now). I went sealed cos I stuffed the box cuts up so didn't have enough material left to do a slot port and didn't want the other sort. I'm going to pay someone else to build a ported box that integrates into the false floor, I brought a spare false floor lid to cut out the centre to allow it through so the box doesn't look so massive in the back but might not end up that way still not sure. I personally wanted to keep my system as modular and plug and play as possible so I got a wire diagram from a vw forum, then found a wire harness with make and female plugs that fit the oem amp harness all pre made cut it in half and soldered and heat shrunk all wiring using the beautiful numbered pin out spreadsheet someone else made was based on the fender system actually which uses dual stupid dual 4 or 2 ohm voice coils for the door woofers with a final impedance of 2ohms the dynaudios are 4 ohms for all speakers, think the fender tweeters are 4 ohm can't remember. Anyway so for the dynaudio version I just didn't end up using as many of the wires and all unused wires were depined from the harness then plugged into the OEM 38 locking connector under the seat where the amp is situated, from the wire harness I brought I got a 12 volt power and ground (this comes in handy in a minut) and all speaker wires as a super convenient location and ran roughly 4 lots of roughly 3 metre, 4 core speaker wire runs to the back where the Amps are presto all the wiring I need for full active, until now cos I'm about to go from oem speakers to oem woofers and kicker pods scewed into A piller trims I got from a wreckers, made sure I had spares as I wasn't wrecking nothing oem unless it was a spare from the wreckers, glad I felt like that because they are 540 Aus dollars for a piller trims including the dynaudio tweeters no thanks, I picked up a full set of dynaudio ones for 150 was wrapped. Anyway to grab the most 150 optical signal I used a nav TV Zen V mine was a rebranded one from a great Australian company here in Melbourne with 2 lovely guys I met in person when I picked it up, they have pretty substantial US ties and support I believe too, the company is called Mobridge they have been around a long time and are taking over the Nav TV Zen range of products nav TV is getting out of it soon I heard anyway not sure if they have already or not, auduotech Fischer also do their own helix branded nav TV Zen V it's all the same box with same features just different brands have obviously given nav money to bang their logo on it. The most interface box is pretty expensive and will be about a grand US and is almost 1700 Australian bucks. Gotta pay to play though, gives you a perfectly clean 5v preout without any of the factory dsp nonsense which to be fair was pretty impressive for what it was and the tiny little amp running 10 channels on 12 guage wire pumping out around 400 real watts or something. So the answer is no you don't need to cut anything if you don't want, if you're car didn't come with premium audio then is some ways it's easier some a few more steps, the most interface actually gets more expensive if you're not premium from the factory becuse you need to flash something using an obd tool to trick the MIB unit and most bus into thinking it did come with premium audio and that activates the MOST optical output at tbe back of the Mib unit in the glove box. The most interface comes with its own short optical cable so if you didn't come with premium mount it behind the Mib behind the glove compartment and use power for the appropriate wires from the back for the Mib unit, your amp remote turn on is also supplied by the interface unit and you have several choices of how to use the system, you can run all rcas and maintain full fader controls and sub control straight from the car stereo, or you can grab a 4 meter toslink and run that all the way to a dsp in the back then out the dsp into amps and stuff. They all turn on from the remote wire of the MOST interface, although they recommend using a relay for more than one amp, I'm running 3 no drama I measured their current draw for the turn on signal and was barely a few milliamps but not all amps may be the same and it has a maximum of 500 milliamps output so take their advice if in doubt cos that's way to expensive to be playing guessing games lol. This type of unit is the only way to integrate into a MOST 150 bus and this is the only one (including the rebranded ones obviously as they are the exact same thing) I'd trust to do the job, although I have seen them on AliExpress for 350 Australian bucks if I had bugger all money id be lying if I wouldn't try it if I had the rest of the stuff I needed but couldn't afford to drop near 2 grand on the one I have 😂 the Chinese are amazing at copying shit these days, hell I shop AliExpress for oem parts for our cars it's cheaper than the dealer and they are legit oem with parts numbers and all.

And what apps on which screen bud, if you have the golf 8 with wireless car play you will get lossless audio basically or wired it's lossless for the golf 7.5. Although phone over Bluetooth isn't bad either, it's AAC codec which is not hd or lossless but far superior to the older SBC format lol. Also the factory stereo is more than happy to run my 1TB samsung T7 SSD Drive and can any and every file I throw at it including music videos downloaded from TH-cam if I want, as long as the resolution is not more than DVD so 480p roughly even though it's more like 520 by the old standards 480 was the American NTSC from the analogue days pretty sure.

U mentioned digital is the option instead of high level!, But what do u mean (digital) is it RCAs ?

Digital for this build is an iPhone 15 Pro Max > USB C cable > SMSL PO 100 Pro > Optical/Toslink cable > DSP

Cool video, congratulations! A “conceptual doubt”... Will the most advanced speaker from a brand always have a greater probability of being able to play all existing musical genres well? Asked another way... If I take the most advanced high-end speaker from any brand (Focal or Morel or Brax or Blam or Audison etc.) that speaker, because it has a much higher quality, will tend to achieve satisfactorily play “any” musical genre? Generally a speaker that is good for playing Hip Hop is not good for playing Jazz. But with technological advances, is there a speaker that is so advanced that it plays “any musical genre” well? Does this speaker already exist or remains a utopia?

Did you pull your audio signal right off the back of the infotainment system behind the glove box?

High level is tapped from the speaker outputs from the amp in rear left quarter panel in the trunk. But daily source is a digital - iPhone to SMSL PO100 to optical to DSP.
