- Here is a detailed overview of my DIY high end audio system in my 2021 GMC Sierra AT4. This build has been about 18 months in the making and seen many, many different iterations. I can finally say that the build is complete and wanted to make a video walkthrough of the system to prove some further detail of what went into the build.
The walkthrough is little over 22 minutes long and there about 13 minutes of some key build log photos.
I’d say there are over 500 hours into this build between all of the iterations but I’m extremely proud it.
Please leave any comments below and thank you for watching!
Equipment/Materials from: Accuton Automotive, Helix, Mosconi, Focal, Illusion, Audiofrog, Steg, Resonix Sound Solutions, Fiio, Stinger, KnuKonceptz, RSD Custom Cables
Custom Fabrication: Vanguard Automotive Design, MTI Acoustics and DIY

I knew at the end there was a lot of influence from Peter from PSSounds! That's my guy 2!
Really nice build and no better place to have such good equipment as we spend so much time driving about.
Congratulations, great build man!..can you please explain a bit more about differential rear fill?...I just don't seem to fully understand how you properly set it. Thanks
Best build I’ve seen done from that side of the pond. SQ focused done superbly.
Very much appreciate that!
Lovely. Getting inspired to do my regular cab Silverado. :D
very nice build... have to laugh at the part where you said you didn't want to modify the work truck too much! lol...
Awesome set up and nice gear too! Just started SQ build on my 2020 Camry XSE and Its a slow long process! I might have to get the Helix processor cause the stock radio sucks and all the climate and data is in it!!! Sigh Semper Fi and Can Do
Fantastic job with everything Luke! Even having followed the entire build on DIYMA, it was amazing to see the entire project here. Excellent presentation!
Thanks Jason! I’m excited to hear your Audi one day.
amazing must sound great
Thanks man. I think it meets my lofty goals and then some.
Very nice install,I have question about the rca cabling, where do you buy it. I need some really bad
You are going to want to look Resonix Sound Solutions, Solderless RCA System. Premium components and huge time saver.

Didn't expect to get a response so soon .Appreciate it,I will be ordering these products soon
@luke ouellet great fabrication with top notch components. I can not affort accuton, so wanted to check how good r morel elate 3 way. Thanks.
Personally if you are trying to chase anything like the Accuton sound, shy away from Morel - far too laid back for my taste. I would look at BLAM Multix, Focal Utopia, Bliesma before Morel
Lot of money spent on a janky ass install. Should have spent less money on equipment and more money on a quality installer.

Gorgeous truck! Incredible build! I identify w/ your methodical and meticulous nature..lol About to start a build on a 2018 K1500 Sierra SLT... what would be your advice as to how to handle the cab vents?
I can't tell in the video... do you have yours partially sealed? looks like a small area at the bottom left open?
@@AuggyNole facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10224782418687303&type=3 that's the full album of pics - there's some good detail on the vents if you scroll through towards the bottom
great job luke ! well done
Beautiful build. I think I've changed my Silverado set up as much as you have. Car audio is addictive 😂...
Can I ask how you are getting signal from stock truck, I have a non bose 21 sierra used harness from pac and resistors before my dsp amp, all was good for 3 days then lost left side of audio, now when I hook up stock all good but when hooked to amp dsp the left signal in is just sketchy comes and goes lower volume some times fine, chimes seem like they affect it to me, I love your build man great job and video, any thoughts on mine wld be appreciated
Where did you get the rear speaker pods, and why do you say you regret the second skin. Thanks
Looks great Luke. Hope I get to check it out in person
Thanks Joe!
that is one amazing build. truly a work of art. did you do all the work including a pillars and dash yourself ?
A Pillars and Dash Pods were done by Nick Apicella at Apicella Auto Sounds in Stony Point, NY. Everything else besides that and the sub box was done by me.
Nice build, I saw the Legend Peter 👍🏻
how much did the accuton speakers cost? looking to build my SQ system and i been looking for good quality speakers
@@dto8182 they were part of a trade I made with my Utopia speakers but retail on each pair of speakers is $4000-$4500 depending on the dealer.
Beautiful set up. Great job.
Well done. A build to rival some of the best. I would love to hear this beast.
I plan to attend both SVR and Finals next year if you are anywhere near those events. Don't be shy, happy to give demos
Question what did you used to get the signal from the factory radio to the dsp
what kind of coax cable you are use for fiio?
Hi. Love seeing people continue to strive for greatness. I have installed professionally in the 90s-2000s and I love seeing the detail and quality. I’m just beginning my 2021 Silverado RST. Would love to ask you a few questions if you wouldn’t mind. Love seeing this type of work!
Thanks man! And ask away. Happy to help
So my last build was my first with an active 3 way setup and DSP. I used a JL Twk 88 and worked fairly well. Now that I am locked into the OEM GM Bose I need something more substantial. I have been looking at the Helix 10 channel and the Mosconi 8 to 12 Pro DSP. My question is what are your thoughts on both units and how safe is it to buy a Helix on EBay? Is the DSP the only unit I need to integrate the OEM? I appreciate any help you can offer! Thank you!
I guess I will tell you what I am installing. 3 way Dynaudio Esotec fronts and 2 way rears. 2 JL Flat 10’s. 2 JL HD600/4’s and HD750/1. I was also thinking about adding either an Android tablet or IPad. Figured I would tell you the whole story. Thanks again.
Hi. Sorry to bother you but wanted to check in and see if you had a chance to see my questions? Thanks man.
@@philkoberg1461 hey man sorry it took me so long to repsond! I am huge Helix fan as their reliability, customer (and community) support is second to none. Assuming that you are running the rears on a passive crossover, then the DSP Pro mk3 is the perfect choice, the Conductor controller is also by and far the easiest remote to use and mount. The Mosconi Aerospace 8/12 with the new software is also solid as well, last recommendation would also Arc Audio PS8 Pro. Otherwise, you have a great system laid out.
Great install!
Thanks LB! This front sub wouldn’t have happened without your help.
❤nice setup
Awsome build
Nice i use helix too and swap 1000 amps lately Revelation audio madison or audiowave aspire class a v2 or etc and for midrange i use zr speaker labs 9dd or 12m or f1 extravagance and doors 6 inch dynes supremos rainbows etc head unit nx5000
Who cares what you run?
How did you bypass the Bose if your truck came with it ?
Is your back seat able to fold down? If so how did you do that because if i mount 3 or 4 thousand dollars worth of amps i want to be able to show them off. I know from factor its not foldable unless you remove the headrest. Thanks
It doesn't fold down per se. I just keep the headrests out so I can pop the back seat out easily.
Awesome build! 😍
Thanks man!
I have mosconi class a modified by steve mantz im rotating in today
Good 4 U
What do u have ur rear subs crossovered at? Is it the same as the front sub up to 150hz?
Rear sub 0 - 50
Front sub 50 - 100
Midbass 100 - 250
@@lukeouellet thank you was also curious on where u got the little control bass knob holder that sits in the cup holder?
How much for this complete build?
Hard to say because most of the build was self built so I saved myself tens of thousands of dollars in labor. But if you wanted this type of build done by a high end shop, I’d expect to pay 40-50k. But like I said, I don’t have even have close to half that invested having done most of the build on my own.
@@lukeouellet Thanks, but my budget is only about 7k... I'm pretty sure it sounds great!!
Nice job..!
Thank you! Cheers!
@@lukeouellet I really appreciate and admire the detail and technique of your installs. Very awesome, keep it going! I have a question regarding the MK3 DSP. Can you give a brief explanation of how to run the front sub from the helix? Thanks.
What type of rca are those?

Thanks for the walkthrough Luke. Amazing build. Probably the best sounding truck on the construction site. 🫡
Thanks man. Certainly have to agree with that lol
