And Matt’s solo on weightless is sick. Matt also plays the Afro Cuban stuff which is cool. I would love to hear Blake in a jazz fusion band.

I cried 3 times during it, especially at the end. What a fucking experience. Thank you, BTBAM. Thank you for everything.
Hell yeah man. I saw that same tour in 2013 in Austin, TX and got to re-live it a decade older in San Antonio a few days ago. Was losing my mind! Best band ever! \m/
I actually never am ceased to be amazed at how good this entire group is. Any metal fan is truly blessed to live in a world where all of the members of this band opted to join forces rather than be the star of their own projects. Please release as many of these videos as you can Blake, you are a true hero
@@basse.r You're right it is pretty silly to call this now 12 year old song modern, but I guess I think of the self-titled - Silent Circus albums as early era, then with Blake and Dan joining the Alaska - Colors - Great Misdirect album run feels middle era, and everything after 2010 with the switch to Metal Blade Records feels modern. Since the band really knew their strengths and were firing on all cylinders at that point. But also probably because that was around when I was getting into them so it all felt new, personal biases and all lol.
A master class in blending complexity with musicality, pocket, and even the awareness to notice a fraying stick and swap it out during one of the few sections with enough time between backbeats to not miss anything.

It’s one thing to be skilled enough to regurgitate content like theirs (no easy task), but they created all of their music FROM SCRATCH. Think about that for a second. They had to collectively take the time and have the mental and physical capability to craft this ridiculously incredible music from ideas (all of their different and unique ideas), and make it work at the level that they do. Not to mention they polish their craft to the point that they perform it live CONSISTENTLY at an unbelievable level. Mind boggling….
love how he breaks a stick at 6:37, acknowledges it and decides to hit the snare with it since its coming up quickly and then grabs a new stick without missing one fucking beat. madness
I listen to so many different bands with amazing drummers but there is just something about Blakes style and groove that sets him apart from the crowd. He is a legend in the making.
This was just as good or better than the first time they did the Parallax II tour back in 2013 with The Faceless, The Contortionist, and The Safety Fire. Absolutely slapped!!

Watched BTBAM and Haken in Gothenburg a while back and the energy YOU brought to the stage were nothing short of amazing, truly a joy to behold! You're one of the most creative, in the pocket, hard hitting drummers in metal I've ever seen, while also making everything seem effortless. As someone said in the Mike Portnoy forums back in the day: "Blake destroys galaxies."

Anyone know how tough it is for him to accent his blasts into that galloping rhythm around the 7 min mark? Sounds sick regardless. Also love his ghost note control during the interlude.
Lol i have spent 8 years trying to get through extremephile elite. It is so much fun even in my failures. But i am 67 and simply run out of gas sometimes. Never to old to rock but sometimes to old to eat the entire meal🤣 sometimes when i watch him it is like he is thinking about what resturaunt he is going to go to after the show🤣
Dont know how often he replies here but any reason why the audio wasnt just drums + percussion like your IG post? Not complaining but im in love with the Mirrors/Obf/Disease video for that reason.

Matt Garstka is definitely a far more technically skilled drummer. That said, Blake's drum parts are FUN to play. Garstka's, well, not as much lol
