Used these for years on my belise 120s caught many fisher and hundreds of marten on my wilderness trapline. Set the plastic boxes on a 5” pole parallel to ground chest height. This is a no fail system all marten are caught with both jaws and fisher around the neck. Have used the wire triggers in boxes and many things can go wrong.
Nice video. Thanks, for making and sharing. Made some of these set-ups for mink. Question. After I compress springs, i need to step on trap to fully compress the jaws. With step through pan, it makes this difficult. What do you do or recommend? Thank, you - Robert
@@trappingtoday I tried the usual conibear setter, that I use on the springs, but that just bent the jaws. Does the RTS compress, but at a different angle? I’m doing 120’s Thanks, Robert
I actually set the trap rightside up, and after it's set I flip it upside down and the safeties flip off nicely. Works well for me. But you could sure flip them if you thought it would be beneficial.
They look like they would be easy enough to make with scrap pieces of a metal soup can. Thanks for the video. 👍👍👍

I set the jaws by hand. If you are unable to do that, I would recommend using an RTS trap setter

Have you ever reversed the safety’s so they are on top , because the trap is really upside down ?

Trapping Today that’s a good idea
I had trouble with the trap going off, any suggestions?
I trap cause I am a lousy shot.
