@adinwalls have you tested Super Mario Odyssey? I got mine delivered today and tested this game but lots lagging, and the music is bad. Perhaps I missed a tweak or two?

Excellent job on making one of the most useful videos I've seen for the 4 Pro! I'm going to order a 4 pro as my first retro handheld, and was wondering how the setup process went. I'll be following along with this video when it arrives. I was thinking the setup would be the hardest part, but now it's deciding which color to order! 🤣
Thank you. The setup can be annoying so I am hoping this video helps! I really like my Crystal white but all the choices are really good.
Oh and I highly recommend a grip and a screen guard.

This little console for what it costs is something truly incredible! Also considering that you can play Android and streaming games with Steam and Xbox GamePass. practically with €200 you can do EVERYTHING and carry it in your pocket. Thank you for this very useful video! 🙏🏻🧀

Haha no. Although I highly recommend a nice artisanal pocket knife. And ya, I gave a bit of thought to which apps to get from where.

@@adinwalls im just use to the way I do things . Just like watching what other people do. And so happy I hoarded all my roms. I’m up to 13tb worth of roms . I buy a new hdd/ssd every few years to back up on new devices because storage can fail. People call me crazy but I still have my roms
Great video. On my rp4, vibration won't work in any of the emulators except dolphin mmjr2, do you have similar issues ?
Hmmm I haven’t noticed but that is a possibility. You should report the issue to Retroid so they can look into it for their next update.
It's probably only works for games that uses the vibration feature, some GameCube and PS2 games not all. All retro games that came before doesn't use the feature, not sure about Switch since I've never played it.
I have this and I gave up on the setup process, its my first time so it is super complicated for me, the roms, the bios, I don't even know if I got the right ones.
My advice is to start with one system. Forget about Daijisho. Just download one emulator and get started.

Yes it’s a bit of a mission. I think people need to be made aware of the pitfalls of emulation

A lot of this setup will work for the Odin, yes
my PS2 games keep crashing with any of those versions 3668 and 4248 so far I have try GOW and Lego Batman both are .ISO format. GOW crashed when I was fighting Hydra and Lego Batman crashed during the fight with two face. any ideas. I am using Vulkan, 1.75x. I also tried under clocking and other changes and got the same results. others emulator like PPSSPP work fine, fan was set on smart and High Permormance.

what yuzu version are you running? i notice everyone runs Mario wonder at around 50 to 60 fps but when i run it, my game is very choppy. Im running the latest version of yuzu, res is at .5
Is your device performance mode set to its highest setting?

If your resolution is already set to 0.5 I’m not sure what else there is you can do. Close all background apps.

I have been having issues in the dolphin emulator.my left stick is working but at the same time is like reading the L2 button and is making playing games in the retroid pocket 4 plus difficult. Please can you address this if there is a solution...keep the good work!!!
Hey there I’m not sure what your problem is with the device. Are some of the buttons not working?
All buttons work perfect even in the others emulator they are perfect only in the dolphin emulator i have that issue... thanks for your reply!!!
Ilthe issu is only with the left stick ,is like its using also the l1 and l2 buttons including the left analog stick. It makes movement difficult playing games in the dolphin emulator( the reason why i bought this console the first place)
If the left stick is working everywhere else then you need to try remapping it
How so setup retro pocket 4 to play mobile games such as genshin impact with built in controller instead of touchscreen? If you or anyone knows how and can assist me would be appreciated.

Hey there. The only thing I would change is some of the emulators. I would use Dolphin for Handheld for GameCube and for 3DS I haven’t tested Canary on the 2S so if it doesn’t work try Citra MMJ. And use a lower resolution output in the settings of most of my emulator setups.
Got to retro gaming corps. Way more coverage and comprehensive guides.
Would it still work if I put the bios files on external storage ?

The Android Drastic app is usually better.

nether classic is based on 3668 an has better compatability in general ,nether 1.7 is based on 4248 and thats better for games that use the snowblind engine, like campions of norraad and baldurs gate dark alliance but will break other games like sly cooper.

Hey there. You don’t have to do all of these things. My advice is to find a system you want to play like Gameboy advance. Find out how to set up that one system. And move on from there

Would have been easier if you just showed nstalling the emulator apps over obtanium. Less steps. You didn't show the feature in OdinTools where you can set your controller per app/emulator. Also you didn't set to kill the running emulators in daijisho and had to kill them manually each start of a new game.
This handheld is VERY tempting but Android is my major deterrent. Give me a Linux or Windows based device.
The setup is frustrating for sure but once it’s done I much prefer it to Linux. Although I still prefer Linux on lower end devices.
Why is this even a issue? Its practically a mini PC. Most of the apps you install from the GooglePlay Store. Etc. Maybe if you could explain the biggest/major issue with using Android then i could see where youre coming from, but i found it very intuitive, and obvious. Or at least, there wasnt any moment where i was thinking, "wow how do i install this? or how do i start my emulator up after ive moved games?", Everything is very point and click.
