I hope everyone is doing well! I had the pleasure of reviewing this awesome GMC sierra with the AT4 off road package. And I wanted to go over all the off road standard equipment that comes with the truck.
1. red tow hook - a perfect touch to signal the AT4 package.
2. 3L Duramax comes standard with the option of upgrading to the 6.2L v8 for some added top end power.
3. All-terrain tires in Goodyear duratracs, personally I think these are some decent tires and will give you some added grip in all situations.
4. upgraded 2 speed transfer case with 4wd low which is critical
5. skid plates, although I wish they had more
6. 2 inch factory lift which helps with ground clearance and approach and departure angles
7. 3.23 gears, personally I wish the AT4 package came with the 3.73 gear option which would really help with off road performance.
8. G80 automatic locking rear differential, honestly a great diff but I would again like to see something like an E-locker rather then an automotic locking diff that you can't control.
Hope you guys liked the review and the video! - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
Lets be real. Most people buy AT4 because they look dope as hell lol. People dont tend to legit offroad a $60k pickup truck
Why not. I wouldn't do crazy trails but still would get it dirty off roaring a bit
I agree
The whole point of getting this trim is to go in the bush
My son bought one 3 months ago. Super versatile and decent off road. ..not At4x capable but thumbs up everywhere else
Mpg
Fresh cut bro! looking good! Another great video!
Had to look good for our dinner date bud
Best trucks on the market. I hammer down on my g80 for years and never breaks on me. I tow alot and haul lots of payload. Good review
Thank you sir! I had a 96 GMC k1500 with a G80 locker. Loved it! truck had 450,000km on it and the G80 was still working.
@TheGettyAdventures now that's a real beauty. 3.0 babymax does it have power? I like to hammer down on my trucks in tough solutions
had a chevy blazer with g80, works great and tough
Great review, and great haircut!
the haircut is the critical factor for performance
Greetings Alex.
GMC gets an honorable mention for its 3.0-liter diesel engine as it's highly efficient, reliable, and perfect for light off-roading. In the style of the Professional Grade of course; any aristocrat would like to have it. Just remember that he has an older brother; Yes, the GMC AT4X is relentless on more challenging purposes.
Thanks for your video Alex; My best wishes and BLESSINGS FOREVER! 🙏
The AT4x is another step up forsure! Hopefully get to test it out someday! but I do really like that 3L duramax.
I got a 2021 older body style. Great truck so far. Had it for 1.5 year and 42km
Yours looks better than the new ones. I was a little bummed out by the redesign.
great content!
I take my 2023 3.0 off road up the mountains. With the extra ground clearance and off road tires. It does relatively well. I had a 2020 high country 6.2 , without 2in lift and all season bridestone 22” alenza’s it was best on highway.
You can indeed get the 3.0 in the Custom and LT Trailboss. In 2023 you were not able to get the 3.0 diesel in the ZR2, but the 2024 will offer the 3.0 diesel.
Good to know!
Yep , Absolutely true. That's what I'm running now. Very Happy with it. Motor is smooth and torquey. Super fuel efficient. Only drawback, it sounds like my wife's buick encore. Barely can hear it. The 6.2 V8 with a good exhaust is in a whole different category. What would i do if I could roll back the clock on this purchase ? hmmmmm
Beautiful truck. By far GMC are some of best looking 1/2 ton on the market today.
Ya I think the new GMC's look wonderful
What tires are those? They look great. The largest stock tire size are 20".
This truck is perfect for the truck enthusiast that would use this as a daily driver and likes to go light - moderately challenging offroading.
This truck is great for towing my '93 Jeep Cherokee XJ on a trailer. When the truck can't go any further, the XJ takes over. ;-)
I believe the AT4x does address some of this trucks omissions, except for the 3.23 axle. But that comes with e-locking front and rear diffs, and additional skid plates, including the gas tank if I remember correctly. It’s only available with the 6.2 gasser though and is quite a bit more expensive. I think this AT4 is more for occasional light off-roading, and is still a nice truck and more capable than most buyers will ever need.
I have a 3.0 Z71. I do more off-roading than the average truck owner. The Trail Boss and AT4 is overkill for the majority of truck owners.
My '10 Nissan Frontier has a 3.13 gear ratio 🥲 So gutless, and still gets only 15-17 mpg on a good day. Decently reliable though, besides the junk rear axle lol. The C200k is a far insuperior axle to the M226 that came in the Pro4x
I think this package is a nice landing spot between the z71/x31 packages and the full blown zr2/at4x packages. and I agree most buying will drive these things to the mall and tow the odd 3,000lbs trailer.
What are the best tires for this truck im picking mine up tomorrow hopefully
Love the truck and the diesel. Great review.
I love the black wheels. Where are those after-market?
Great video Alex. Did you cone hone for Canada Day weekend?
Thank you! no I'm home this full week for a friends wedding. but as they say its "working vacation" lol
You drive it with the plate blocked also? Great idea
Nice truck.
Certainly a good looking truck!
I really like that you didn’t worry about the soft touch materials and didn’t even look at the infotainment screen, as most reviewers talk about it endlessly. This truck imo is ok. It looks good outside. Interior could use some repairs. But overall I couldn’t see giving the money they want for these things. There are better out there.
like what? asking for reference, looking to upgrade from a f150 work truck. im looking for all the bells and whistles but something that i can take on some light off roading. had my eyes on the new Canyon at4x too lol
What's your MPG on regular highway driving?
Is the Denali a better value? Im not going to take my 65k truck out in the woods!
Can anyone tell me biggest tire /rim combo I can go with a 2023 AT4 1500 3.0 without trimming or rubbing ? also a little offset , like an inch or so pass fenders ? ty
What color is this truck? Is it the titanium rush metallic? or just black
How do these hold up with city driving? My commute is a maximum of 10 miles, but is 100% city.
I currently own a 2023 Tundra (8,500 mi). I love the truck, but the premature engine failures have me concerned. Dealers aren't even accepting 22/23 trades because of the issue and toyota dealerships can't sell impacted inventory until their is a fix. I bought the extended warranty because i planned to have this 15 years but not if an engine blows!
would love to see a towing test with this truck!
I think it would be great! but unfortunately my trailer is 2,000kms away lol
well that would be nice long towing test lol well just a thought for sometime in the future 😃
Can anyone confirm if the AT4/Trailboss package reduces overall fuel economy on the Duramax diesel? 21/23 on the AT4 vs 24/26 on a regular 4wd diesel???
What size is the gas tank ? In the 2024
Someone please bring a Nissan Armada or Titan to this man.
We do need his review of the 5.6 VK engine!
Where did she get those mud flaps, i have the same truck, and i like them
Truck Hardware Gatorback mud flaps, I like them too and did some digging.
I had one back in 2019, but I sold it a road really rough!
All off road trucks ride rough. That's what they are made for with stiff suspension so if you want soft you need to go to a luxury truck
Still wrapping my head around the idea of a 6.2L gasser being an upgrade over the 3.0L diesel. Weird. No diesel with the Trail Boss must be a Canadian thing. It's available in the U.S. in the Trail Boss.
If anyone is considering buying a truck because they want to get into off roading just do yourself a favor and buy the Power Wagon, it can not be beat from any stock truck from the factory, you will not regret it.
Now that is some factual stuff right there. The PW is by far the most capable truck off the factory line with the most offroad focused components. I will say though it is a larger truck so if you are looking to get into smaller places it can be a little difficult. but if the truck will fit, the PW will get through just about anything.
But….. it’s a Dodge…. No thanks
Buy a Tremor, steer away from dodge, worst body ever
I like a truck that is quiet and doesn't seem to be falling apart from the inside out
@@lyleswavel320 The Ford Tremor? You mean the trucks that have a new recall every other week? No Thanks!
@chrisjohnston7608 lol
2019-2023 GMC/CHEVROLET Transmission problems, don't go that route unless you want to get on the class action lawsuit with truck at the shop, Google it, it's also on sponsored on Facebook united states wide
I have the 3.0 duramax in my trail boss and it’s the LZ0. I’ve read and watched online that they can’t fit the diesel engines inside the Yukon at4/ Yukon xl at4/ Tahoe z71/ suburban z71 because of the engine size.
So from your comment and several other I guess the newer trail boss can get the duramax seems like 2023 + which is a nice thing because the 3L duramax is a great engine option.
@TheGettyAdventures it's the best 1/2 ton motor overall from all brands. Yes you don't get 8 cylinder gasser sound but in all other terms the best
Them tires seem a bit low profile for off road. And what about a cat converter anti theft plate.
흥미롭게 잘봤어요. 도움이 많이 되었습니다. 한국에 나나파파.
The GMC looks better than the Chevrolet front end wise
The fenders are so dumb, while they are spacious vertically, horizontally there is very little space preventing upgrading wheels and tires to larger sizes that are measurable. Without cutting things.
I used to think the fenders were odd, but with this truck they seems to work well. I agree that the squared off look does limit larger tires
35" fit no problem
This truck is way better than Trailboss more luxurious and skid plates metal. Trailboss skid plate is plastic and feels cheaper than this truck that’s why I am upgrading to an AT4 I really love duramax engine.
Just finalized a deal on a 24 AT4 today, and it’ll be delivered tomorrow morning. Got it in Thunderstorm Gray w/ the 3.0… Can’t wait!
One minor correction, you can get the 3.0 Duramax in a Trail Boss. I cross shopped it before deciding to roll with the GMC.
Nicee I have a elevation x 31 atm, I'm getting a 2024 at4 in a few weeks!. One thing I noticed they don't offer black rims for it?
@@ReelDealp The Elevation with X31 Package is super nice. Very handsome truck for sure… Congratulations! I was going to get one, but ended up with the AT4 when I couldn’t find an Elevation optioned out the way I wanted.
@@ReelDealp I believe you are correct. I haven’t spotted a single one with black wheels. I uploaded 2 “amateur” videos of my truck if you want to check it out.
dude hides license plate entire video except the beginning where BR86824 is right in front of the intro........lol
Your power wagon also has larger tires than this AT4 so the shorter 4.10 gear makes up a bit for the already longer ratio that comes with the larger tires.
Realistically though, how many people that buy these AT4 actually use them for anything more then construction site off roading. Lol honestly even a RWD truck can do that. These are just for show
I think a 3.42 gear is also available.
where did you find that? I searched for a long time and could only come up with 3.23's
@@TheGettyAdventures I have a 2022 GMC 4x4 with them.
@@TheGettyAdventures from what I can tell, the max towing package comes with 3.42 gears if you get the 6.2 V8 or 3.73 gears with the 3.0 diesel. I am considering getting a new High Country with the diesel and max towing package to replace my 2019 RST 5.3 V8. I really like my 2019 but I also really like the efficiency of the small diesel. Interestingly, the High Country Chevy comes standard with the 2-speed transfer case. Other modes require the Trail Boss or Z71 packages to get that.
Trail Boss offers 3.0
Yes apparently in 2024 they are now offering them which is nice.
Sounds like a total waste for anyone handy with a wrench
Don’t let the looks fool you, it’s a POS
Why do you say that? I've never owned a newer GM truck but it seems like people are liking them.
Please explain?? Don't think you have any facts
@@lyleswavel320 200,000 miles
@@lyleswavel320GM upped the interval to 200k with the LZO. Apparently it’s about a $1500 job. Not great but about on par with a timing belt.
You're not nitpicking, GM is a joke.
I have been on the fence with getting this truck due to the complaints I see about it burning oil... Can anyone comment on this about how this could be avoided if you have any knowledge on it?
I think the 5.3L and the 6.2L engine have been known to burn oil. there have been some rumour of the new 3L burning oil but it's hard to confirm
@@TheGettyAdventures interesting, I've got about 35k on my 2021 5.3L and haven't had any oil burn. But thanks for the info!
After some more research I've seen a trend in comments that it usually burns oil when towing or carrying any decent load
Almost all motors burn oil
