I gave you a like at "ya get what you vote for." Hopefully, enough people with functioning minds will vote Red up and down the ballot. It would be nice to see Michigan flip, one of my favorite states (upstate LP and UP).
I drive at 65 on the highway, you don't save much time going faster but you save a ton of money. I get 32 mpg on highway with my 3.0 with hybrid tires and bed cover.
I'm a diesel fanatic, especially German diesels. In North America, that's a lonely thing, as few diesel models have ever been sold here. It's a shame that diesel cars have been so underappreciated in NA. Honestly, a lot of vehicles, especially pickups and SUVs, make no sense to me unless they are diesel. There still seems to be a misunderstanding outside Europe that diesels are slow, dirty, etc. The array of I4, I6, V6, and V8 diesel options in Europe from VW Group, etc. makes me so jealous.
I was able to get 27.4 with the same truck but 2022.5 Mine has a 6” lift with 37s Looks amazing and drives fantastic But the around town MPG is horrible Still nothing impairs to my 2019 ZR2 Duramax 44+ mpg and it’s a mountain goat
Around town driving (short trips) doesn't allow the motor to get up to temp where the efficiency lies. Let the motor warm up (especially if you have the remote start option) for 4-5 minutes, especially on colder days. You will notice a difference.
Only in the areas that “matter” to the donors who keep getting the “progressives” elected. The poorer people outside of the wealthier parts of town don’t get equal distribution of the weed wealth.
Mf bιτching about gas prices as if he isn’t driving a 5000lb truck, and the entire planet isn’t dealing with fuel shortages as well. Bιτchιng about the roads as well. Have you seen I-75? Michigan has been building that up ever since I left for the Marines. 3.0 seems like a nice engine though. My buddy who’s a technician in Flint has other opinions about it, but I have hopes for it.
Thank you for posting and sharing such a thorough review. I just purchased a 2024 1500 ZR2 Bison with the Duramax 3.0 LZO. Given the owners manual recommends the use of only top-tier diesel and how scarce access to such diesel is not only in my area in California, but also nationally, lam wondering what other Duramax LZO owners use to fuel their trucks.
The AT4X is way outside my budget...but how do the AT4 hold up with city driving (3.0 vs 5.3)? My commute is a maximum of 10 miles, but is 100% city. I do some highway driving time to time but primarily suburban USA. I currently own a 2023 Tundra (8,500 mi). I love the truck, but the premature engine failures have me concerned. Dealers aren't even accepting 22/23 trades because of the issue and toyota dealerships can't sell impacted inventory until their is a fix. I bought the extended warranty because i planned to have this 15 years but not if an engine blows!
I have the same results with my Silverado with the baby duramax. Highway driving in warm weather gets great fuel economy. Winter, not so much. Very smooth ride and great torque
I think a lot of that phenomenal feel economy on the first day was your low average speed. I know I get the same fuel economy in my truck that’s a 3.5 L eco-boost no matter if I’m driving in the city or the highway. About 17 in the city and maybe 18 on the highway, but keep in mind with our highway speed limits, I’m traveling 75 to 85 miles an hour. No matter how dynamic they make these trucks they’re still a giant box. It takes a lot of energy to push them through the air.
Loves is generally where I head to. Not many around me but one that I pass weekly to commute to my girlfriends house the fuel pad is always empty so you can sneak in and get it pretty fast. Kwik Trips in Wisconsin rock as they have the DEF pump where you can pay right at the pump with a regular credit card!
Love my 24 duramax best mpg is 36.8 avg is over 30. Uses very little def fluid, use start stop feature, don’t let it idle, will kill mpg , very impressed, killer torque !
I mean, if you want all the millionaires to get more tax cuts and a President that refuses to hold gas companies accountable for price gouging then watch who you vote for. Turned off your video right after those comments.
3.0l is tragically underrated. Such a great motor that's so often overlooked.

Great motor. I achieved driving 700 miles in one full tank of diesel.

Considering the shape and weight of what that engine is trying to drag around, I'd call that net result pretty impressive.

Sounds like you’re trying hard to not love it. I think it’s a hell of a step up from your broken car.
You’re right I agree
You can sue the state of Michigan for the loss of your car because of the neglect of the DOT. I did it and was awarded a win...
thanks for your reply - do you have any resources you'd recommend I try to use? or links to when I could submit a claim?

The truck might have been in Regen mode
That must be a great buddy to let you borrow a 2024 truck
I wonder if your roads are as horrible as Colorado? Our governor doesn't do shit for fixing anything
Only in the areas that “matter” to the donors who keep getting the “progressives” elected. The poorer people outside of the wealthier parts of town don’t get equal distribution of the weed wealth.
Get what you vote for - well said. Your buddy’s lifetime average was probably due to him driving in the city
Pretty much all vehicles get horrible fuel economy in cold weather so your result isn't remotely concerning.

I'm in Las Vegas & we have diesel at every Chevron. Do you have Chevron in your area? Is that top tier?
By top-tier, it just means not red-dye or industrial grade diesel. Any diesel from a pump is fine.

On that short a driver you will not get the diesel up to operating temps, especially in cold weather. That will affect mileage.
Check out the 2024 Trail Boss edition. VERY similar to the AT4 and one helluva a LOT cheaper.
@robedmund9948 thanks for the comment. Will check that out!

Houston Tx... in the city reg 2.89ish. diesel 3.50ish

AT4 isn’t what you displayed at the beginning on the MPG guide.
"Thanks, Karen." - that made my day
Brother 7 dollars. California
Diesel is 3.69 in east central Florida
Like my 3.0 duramax ❤️❤️❤️ this is best engine ever
I’m in SE Michigan as well. Do you know any fuel stations where I can fill my DEF at the pump?

Here In Washington State, prices are way over $4.00 a gallon.
Same here north east. 4.2-4.7
In the winter, use a grill cover to retain heat in the engine bay. 28 mpg for a full-sized 4x4 pickup is awesome!!
How much DEF did you have to fill with on those trips?
Mine runs about a gallon per 1000 miles, add a trailer and it drinks a lot more.
Im in California, that price is cheap to me.
Oh you’re cool 🚮
$4.00 a gallon is insanely cheap lol. It’s like $6 in LA
Don't come here. Stay there

$3.18/gal for diesel in Okla City as of 07/29/2024.
Winchester, Ky. Diesel is under 3 dollars a gallon on Friday the 13 th 😮

jetta to a truck? go back to a car buddy and leave the trucks for guys who actually need them
It’s 2024 even the s likes of you can drive a pick up
Ok Karen.

Sorry you are misguided and offended brother, wishing you the best
Well, there is this thing called inflation-better call the fed. Also, added taxes. Its econ 101
Everyone got a tax cut. You're just too stupid to realize that.
Gas companies were price gouging when we had the lowest prices in 20 years? Makes sense
