I do feel for the people who have businesses beside the cycle lanes, opperating those businesses would change and not for the better , worrying about loss of parking and just generally taking the enjoyment out of creating a living for yourself for a start. Not enough people use the cycleways to warrant the expense. Having local shops for resident's is going to save people driving into town to shop taking a bus isn't green either.

I have respect for someone who is passionate about wanting to make a positive difference, even if I disagree with their position. But even genuine passion and motives can be let down by poor behaviour. Also, no matter how sure you are that you are right, it is common sense to listen to the other side, because you could be wrong.

I voted for the greens way back with Jeanette Fitzsimons / Rod Donald. Now they need to change the name of the party to , the rainbows or the pinks . What this is is the difference between being a parliamentarian and being an activist. The entire tone in parliament and indeed political discourse has gone downhill since activists have entered politics. It's not that one can't become a member of parliament after being an activist but once you have made the jump into politics you need.to give away the activism and be more constructive. Activism mentality will stop you getting any gains towards your stated goals. Activists have an all or nothing approach which fails and causes frustration and anger on their part. You get what you vote for. Thanks a bunch Greens voters.
They rate highly because they relate to a generation who believe the same conflicts beset them. They are the new tribal political grouping: defined by their position on issues and their feelings of justified victimhood. They are self-righteous by nature. Their “passions” will ultimately lead to them accepting the idea that the ends justify the means. They will become what most of them think they are defined against: aggressors.

Genter is from the same mold as most Green MPs. They tend to be eco-radicals with zero regard for the opinions or standings of anyone else that don't agree with them. I am yet to witness any debate involving a Green MP that doesn't devolve into the MP resorting to just talking louder and louder to overrule the opposition debate. That sort of attitude has no place in a democratic parliament.

Ma Genta is the color of universal harmony and emotional balance. Its contains the passion, power and energy of red, restrained by the introspection and quiet energy of violet. It promotes compassion, kindness and cooperation.
The traditional or widely accepted measure of productivity doesn't apply that well to NZ. The country is populated by doers, not managers. Compare with Australia where you'll find a lot more people working from behind a desk. The reason NZ measures low, but achieves highly regardless (and aren't a bunch of peasants riding their donkey carts), is that these doers are all well educated technically, invest capital in their endeavours, but still do it themselves, as the country lacks the population to employ for the tasks. This do-it-yourself approach (by necessity) leaves NZ measuring low in productivity according to the classic way of measuring things.
