One thing that really annoyed me about the whole lock-down thing and I tried to convey this to the committee, was that while I could go to work in Kurow, stay at the pub, under lock-down and head home again to Ashburton, I could not travel south in my personal vehicle across the Ashburton bridge on the Saturday, to see my dying father in Temuka.
He passed away, after I was turned back by a sergeant at the south end of the bridge.

Imagine refusing to serve a tradesman food in a cafe because he had no vaccine pass, that’s what was happening back 2 years ago.
It was pretty incredible. The vaccine passes probably meant that someone who was vaccinated was more likely to pass on the virus than someone who wasn't by virtue of the fact that the vaccinated were excluded. Yet, there were people who were actually fearful of coming into contact with someone who wasn't vaccinated, all the while happy to socialize with the vaccinated who could quite easily be spreading the virus!
Now it's just unbridled racism....

Not hindsight for me and quite a few others. I'm an RN, others were doctors and scientists. I knew almost immediately that this was a panic-demic.
Don't give me that BS about how criticism of the Covid response is all about hindsight. Some us were appalled at the clumsy handling of the response at the time. And not because I'm a vaccine sceptic either, because I'm not. But then I've worked with numerous pharmaceutical and other health clients, and I was in Wuhan about the time Covid arrived so what would I know.....

When your friends son, an attorney in London got it and was put into a ward with the dead and dying and his accounts of how during the night he heard those who died taking their breaths. He survived miraculously but has major heart issues and constant brain fog he can't practice law anymore. Stick your idiotic opinion far up where the sun don't shine.
