That's why Somalis voluntarily embraced Islam

Don't know why? It is very simple to tell. We did the same mistake the Europeans did before about 1700 years from today. I crazy Roman emperor named Constantine converted himself into Middle Eastern religion called Christianity and the people of the Roman Empire followed up the steps of their emperor and Europe soon fall into the darks of the middle age and the role of the Christian religion. After a thousand dark years, the Europeans were lucky to discover the past history of the philosophy of Plato and Aristotle so they reintroduced the old European cultures such as Secularism and Democracy and many more back to the European people and they make a great success by going back to their own real culture after a thousand years delusion of a forging religion called Christianity. This story is also true for us, and we can not go forward and unless we rediscover our own religion and reject the forging religion that has destroyed the Somali ID and Somalinimo

Before Judaism, Christianity, and Islam and our Cush ancestors lived what is today Egypt, our Somali ancestors used to worship many idols (na’uudu billaah). The names of some of them are Waaq which our brothers Redinle and Oromos use today. There is a city named Ceel Waaq (waaq’s water well) in south central Somalia to this very day. Wad, which we use to this day even as Muslims because we carried over the name. Wadaad (wad aad) means the goer of wad in terms of worship. When someone dies of natural death, we say Wad killed so and so (wad baa dilay ama wad buu u dhintay). Today we muslims call the religious person of Islam wadaad (goer or worshiper of wad even though we worship only Allah SWT today). Wad/Suwaa/ya’uuq(ya’uk) were mentioned in the Holy Quran as well. FYI Zeyla or Saylac an ancient city in the northern coast of Somalia is mentioned in the Old Testament.
Hoyaal was another idol. When we a nation of poets start starting a poem, we start it with hoyaalayeey hoyaalayeey hoyee. Another one was sitti, she was a “female of fertility” idol. To this day, our southern women call it abaay sitti. When many somali women dance in the south and central they say siti siti sitti stti to begin their dances or poems. In the northern and western parts, they say sittaat to signify the gathering of women who make sacrifices and go in to trans modes.
The mother of today’s Arabs Hagar was a Somali woman. She lives in ancient Egypt. That’s why Jews/Isaac look down on Arabs/Ishmael because Hagar/Somali woman was their mother. As the Jews and Arabs are from the same father but different mother. Yes, the mother of Ismael and the wife of Abraham/Ibrahim. We have a clan named reer Hagar in Somalia today (unrelated specifically to that lady) but to show the name is Somali and it’s in existence. Everything in the pyramids is in Somali, Oromo, Mali, Amara, Redinle, Afar, or all of East African languages but mainly the the Somali language. The kingdom of Kemed (kamid) means being part of. King tat mean (dad in somali is people) meaning king of the people or people’s king. Ahmose (Google Ahmese and see that picture is pure old somali man) he was another ancient Egyptian king. Ah (aah means balaayo in Somali) mose (moose means in Somali barrier of evil things). Ramses is another Somali word meaning Ramaassiis or giver of fresh grass Ramaas siis. Memphis, Nafertiti, and many more are all in the Somali language.

What kind of idiotic outburst is this. Bantu? Not one single Bantu tradition is on the pyramids. Bantu captivate farms and hunt bushmeat. While the Cushitic were animal herders and pastoralists. The mother of Arabs was our girl/daughter Hagar. Yes, the mother of Ismael (cs) was our daughter or our girl.
How can we be arab. Only lack of knowledge and sheer ignorance one can talk in such a manner. This is not how you go and try to make history by stealing it while make baseless claims. Our language is in the pyramids. Why isn’t your Bantu language in the pyramids? Where is the proof kiddo. Go see the picture of the kids and queens and see if they look like Bantu. Only the languages of the pyramids are the languages of the Cushitics.

    • Waaq, originally pronounced “Wakha”, is originated from Egypt/Misr. It is actually the same diety founded and worshiped by Akhanatan, the Pharaoh king who had changed his religion and his name during his term of reign and because of the influence by prophet Joseph, Jacobs son mentioned both in the Quran and Bible.
    • Waaq/Wakha is a God worshiped by all the so called Kushite people throughout Horn of Africa, but now only few clans still worship em in Oromo cummunity, Rendille etc. Throughout Horn of Africa, you might also find the use of “Waaq” as towns and people names.
    • These people mistakenly called “Cushite people” are mix of Egyptian/Misrian and Sabaians/the people of Sheba. They are all same people, the early inhabitants and rulers of the lands extend from Israel/Palestine to Somalia. Israel/Palestine, Egypt, Sudans, Chad, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, Kenya, Uganda Tanzania.

First of all, İt's cushite/ cushitic language speaking people not kushite. Those two terms mean completely different things.
Second, isn't the religion of Akenaten Athen?
Thirdly, there is no race/ ethnicity called misrian🤣 the term is given by the puntities which are present day somalis, Djibouti & eritreans to ancient Egyptians for their distinctive head dressing. The name of the country egypt/misr itself is a cushitic name.
Cushitic people are older genetically than the ones you're saying they came from. So before you make up things about people you share nothing with, remember they are alive and on the internet and they know themselves better than you think you know them.

The name of the ancient monotheist God Somalis worshipped, _Waaq,_ has an interesting etymology.
Waaq is thought the sound the intelligent, special bird called crow in English makes. It is no ordinary bird, especially to ancient people. Even in Islam, it is has a special place, teaching sons of Adam how to bury their dead brother after witnessing crows burying their dead birds.
Waaq, to Somali ears, is the sound made by the crow. What is crow's name in Somali language? It is called _tuke,_ of course.
What else in Somali language _tuke_ word is known for? To pray to God, i.e. the five daily prayers Muslims pray. It is no coincidence.
I would have liked to explore more into 'waaq' and how enshrined it in Somali language, words like barWAAQo (blessed place [by God]), garWAAQ (God's judgement), ceelWAAQ (God's well), WAAQdhowr (protected by God) and so on. Alas, I'm at work and do not have enough time for now.

Somalis kept their culture intact but for religion it was which made more scene and what way does God want us to worship him so it was never about Arabs bringing a religion to Somalis but sharing the knowledge that Gods messenger was given to bring to man kind. And don't forget Ancient Egypt and Somalis had very close ties and when prophet Moses was sent to the and all the kind or religions that they have seen around the world was the result of the religion Eebe Waaq which Eebe translates GOD. And Somalis and the Arabs had a long standing trade and cultural relations.

I don’t know why some of you think Africa is a country with one history...Africa is very diverse with rich history...I suggest you learn it and stop being ignorant in the 21 century.

    Yes, you're right!
It's attributed to factors such as the low population density and/or being taken up by a core Somali/proto-somali group which later on became the hegemons. Either through:
    1. control of trade routes
    2. association (in a time when ethnicity was more fluid)
    3. or most likely a combination of both.
Nevertheless, although mass conversions happened it was by no means instantaneous. Until recently people practiced versions of Islam combining previous holy cites and and practices (i.e. through pilgrimages, painting a cross on the forehead, etc). Tbh there is a lot we don't know but linguistics proves to be a good reference for Waaqism as well as archeology. We will likely discover many more cites in the future with some effort Inshallah!

Eebe Another hand means the the greater father originator of all creations. Prayers to Waaq was similar as Islam, 4 faces day or marks of the hours of the day and night. Fasting was bet loose but the core believes was there and still Somalis will address god as Eebe. This Waaq believe had to be earlier Allah religion to East or whole Africa. Somalis fallowed the teaching of the black prophets Adam, Ediris(Enach), Suleyman(Sulaiman), Muusa(Moses) the Barrier of evil, Ciisa(Yesha/Jesus) Ciise meaning gratitude or Allah gratitude to mankind and all Allah other Servants as such man as Mohamed the final and seal of the prophets. My name is Sharmaarke Mohamed Ali from Somaliland . I have to tell you that you people do not be surprised by the fact that Somalis identify themselves as Arabs because Somalis are made up of different tribes that share the same language, culture, religion and environment. Some Somali tribes have been around for a long time and they are the ancient Somalis, and some tribes have become Somalis in different periods. Some are left over from the Portuguese invasion in the 15th century. Some tribes are of Israeli descent, while others are of Indian origin. As you know, in the past, the Somali region has been known by different names to the West and the Arabs, such as during the time of Prophet Moses, it was part of the land called Egypt. The pharaoh himself was a Somali because besides the image of the pharaohs and many traditions that are similar to the Somalis, there is the fact that the pharaoh's name is in the Somali language and that is what the pharaoh actually was. There are also ethnic groups living next to Somalis that have been heavily influenced by Somalis and later became Somalis.Ancient Somalis , most of them were traveled towards the south and west direction and arabs took the place of those scattered ancient somalis. Finally, do not be surprised that the majority of Somalis are of Arab origin.Majory of Somalis belong a line of of descent traced continuously from an ancestor and they protect and preserve family origins and history. On the other hand, there is no single country whose entire population descended from the origin of a single father, if i'm not sure its not more than one or two countries.

Waaqle is a subclan of the Ajuran clan.
I think Waaqle means someone associated with Waaq or a worshipper of Waaq.
Waaq means protector , the one who protects.
It is an Arabic word واق
A part of a verse in the Qur'aan says,
''وما لهم من اللّٰه من واقٝٝ
Pronounced as: Wamaa Lahum MinaLLaahi Min Waaq.
The meaning is : ''And they will not have from Allaah any protector'' or
''And there is none to protect them from Allaah''.
This is the full verse with its English meaning:
    : لَّهُمْ عَذَابٌ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَلَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ أَشَقُّ ۖ وَمَا لَهُم مِّنَ اللَّهِ مِن وَاقٍ
