Great video! Thank you for reviewing them, I was really curious about them but it’s the price that gets me, it’s so much! And also don’t like the fact that the ends are different. I love the magic loop method though, I recently learned how to do that and now I want to knit a bunch of socks lol ☺️

I have a pair of the small ones in size 2 and I have used them for fair isle mittens. I had a hard time with DPNs doing the stranding. Even though I’ve been using DPNs for over 25 years and I love them. Thanks for your review.

I can see flexi flips for that. Personally I still prefer 2 16 inch circulars, but it's very much a matter of personal preferences. Thank you for sharing!

I don't knit in the round with anything other than Flexi Flips any more. I've knitted with all other methods for years, and by far the Flexi Flips are the best for me. Of course, I did have to practice with them, but anything that is worth learning takes practice.

😂 I absolutely agree with you 100%. I bought a set of the Hiya Hiya flyers a couple of years ago to try, and had the same problem as you did with the flopping, the stiffness of the project (I made baby socks). I absolutely hated working with them and went back to my dpn’s and 2 circulars. If I learned on these I would have never made socks or anything small. Love your sense of humor and honesty! 😊

I had heard of these a little while back and didn't think much of them or consider really trying them. I still enjoyed hearing about what you thought of them; now I don't have to wonder if something I normally wouldn't even try might work well for me. I found I like the longer circular needles for doing magic loop. I can get by with just one long needle for little tubes or larger projects. I recently got a interchangeable set with other cord sizes, which is nice to have. However, I still like to have a long cord so when I put a project down I can scoot the stitches down on the cord and not worry so much about loosing stitches off the end of the tips. Oh, and love the look of the gloves you were testing with.

Thanks for your review. Like magic loop for my socks except when I pick up stitches and knit the gusset for the heels. Have switched to double points for that part, and was interested in flexi flips. I have large hands so think I will give them a pass after your review. THANKS

I’ve watched this video of you and your comments on these Flexiflips. Your the only one I have come across that you do not like these
    I have had no problems
I would recommend these Addi Flexiflips. Aren’t the Hiya hiya basically the same thing.
    Think about it ...........

It’s the same overall concept, but my issue with the flexi flip versus hiya hiya, is flexi flip has different tips on the either end of each needle. It’s a matter of personal preference if that feature is a plus or minus. For me it’s a minus.

I have three sets of Addi flexi flips and I've tried to talk myself into liking them, but I hate them and that hasn't changed. I'm going to sell them on ebay!!! I think that dpn is easier because they are flexible, but I'm always shuffling around in bed looking for the loose needle. I think I will try two cable needles instead.

Great review. I hate dble pointed, magic loop is meh. I like the ease of two circs. Still considered trying flexi flips but the price was the inhibitor. Thanks for the review. I'll stick with 2 circs.

Interesting review. I knit with knitting pin or yarn around the neck. I want to try this to see if it's comfortable to knit with this type of dpns than with regular dpns like right now I am currently knitting sock this way than with shorties because the way I was holding shorties was rubbing my finger so I stopped for now. But I want to try the generic needles (they too know have flexible dpns for approx 2-3 yrs now) have bought before when I have started knitting because it is a very affordable and a great way to see if I like the flexible dpns. I really did enjoy the generic chinese needles b/c they were affordable, lightweight, and did last me a long time until I donated them so I can try other brands. ...😊

Tried them. Not for me. I really prefer two circulars. These are like working with three not very efficient circulars and I can't see the benefit.

Just found this video and subscribed. Thank you for this review. I'm experimenting with the Hiya Hiya Flyers. I thought I would LOVE them. The idea of them sounds so great. I initially struggled with ladders using dpns. But the more I knit with dpns the more comfortable I'm becoming with them and my tension at the needle transitions is improving. Not great, but getting better. I prefer 9-inch circs. I like Magic Loop. Haven't tried two long circulars...yet. My problem with the Flyers is finding the right hold. The working needle, the part I'm not using to the knit stitches jabs and stabs my palm. Or moves around to much. Sigh. This is my first pair of socks using the flexible dpns. Hoping it gets better. Don't want to completely give up on them... yet, because $ lol

Thank you! I know many enjoy the flexible DPNs, but for me I think it's my least favorite tool for small circumferences. Still, glad people have so many options these days. 😀
If you'd like, I do have a video sharing my top tips for DPNs. I talk about avoiding ladders. th-cam.com/video/X2X-S4qp7ZQ/w-d-xo.html

I loved your video! My main issue with knitting in the round is that I'm a Continental knitter (holding yarn in left hand, picking stitches with right hand) and I hold the right needle like a handle (similar to when you talk about your pencil hold). Thus, the length of needle is an important factor for me. If the needle is not long enough, I cannot knit comfortably AT ALL. So, knitting small circumference projects on 9" or even 16" circ needle does not work for me b/ needles always too short for my grasp. DPN's ok, bu can be a handful. Magic Loop and using 2 circs better. But still searching and heard about these flexible DPN's. Like you mentioned, I started "romanticizing" about them - this is it, the solution to my round knitting problems. I ordered a set of the longer ones (hoping long enough for my right grasp) from E-Bay, new, pretty good price (about $20). Shipping free - except they come from China and the wait could be months!! They ended up arriving in about 3 wks. I was sooooooo excited!. So....sad to say, somewhat of a disappoint. I totally agree with you in that the Turbo and Rocket ends no big deal - not worth the high price and having to look each time for preferred end annoying. My conclusion: Addi Flexi Flip are "meh". Trying them and seeing your video made me realize the pro's and con's (with which I agree) but that for me, best method of round knitting really is 2 circulars. I don't even mind DPN's here and there (especially if bamboo, as not as slippery as metal, stitches stay on). Thanks Carrie!!

Thank you and I agree 2 circulars is still my favorite method as well. But, I’m glad I tried the flexible DPN’s because I know they’re not for me.
