  • It's easy to cast on for toe-up socks using Addi Flexiflip needles. There are a variety of methods for casting on toe-up socks including: the Turkish cast-on, the Figure-8 cast-on, and Judy's Magic cast-on. All of these closed cast-on methods can be used on Addi Flexiflip needles or any flexible double-pointed knitting needles (like Hiya Hiya Flyers or Chiaogoo Shorties).

Do you like knitting toe-up socks or would you rather knit cuff-down socks? Leave a comment and share your favorite construction method!

The turkish cast-on is my favorite! If the sock has heel, flap, and gusset I prefer top-down.

I enjoy knitting toe up and cuff down. Love the Turkish cast on the best. It just seems easier than the others. Thanks for the demo.

I prefer toe up after trying both but I’m always searching for precise directions for toe up with heel flap and gusset. I’m using Flexi flips on this toe down pair and I appreciate your demo of toe up with similar needles.

Glad it was helpful! I'm planning a sock series so I'll add toe-up with heel flap and gusset to the to-do list!

I like the Turkis Cast-on the best. I'm just learning, so I don't know if toe-up or cuff-down would be my favorite! I just want to learn!! Thank you for this easy learn; you are a very good teacher!! Smiles, Claudia.
