I cleaned out my grandparent’s house after their passing, mostly by myself. Yes, it was hard and ALOT! But finding my grandpa’s letterman sweater (they didn’t have jackets back then) was priceless and I treasure it!
My oldest son, didn’t want a jacket or ring….. I saved his letters, pins, certificates… he is soon to be 24, and is confident and happy with what he keeps…. Lol, he is also an Eagle Scout, and they are so thrifty….. early on, my son was happy and enjoyed pressed pennies, for his souvenirs…. It is so fun to see his collection! Lol and it was not costly or much to store/keep!
First of all, orange for the cage and second of all, I was doing dishes while watching and looking down. I popped my head up and out loud said, "did she just roar at me?!" 🤣 I giggled too hard at that!
I know this video is old so you may not see this, but I wanted to say that I adore & appreciate your outlook on “stuff” & how you process through it. You are an inspiration to me ❤
You are so brave and strong! It usually takes years to understand that what you have not used in last year, you don’t have to storage anymore. And you are so straightforward in every room. Wow!
Adorable! I think the green of the dresser would be a logical choice, but I personally would pick up the reddish-orange that is on the back of the dinosaur pillow and paint the zoo that color. It would tie in nicely with the little pops of that color that are throughout the room. (Under dragon blanket too, etc) Great job, way more play space and your son seems so happy. Love how your other kiddos got to filming when needed. They are learning great production skills.
I’d stain the zoo. You should get one of the hanging organizers for the closet and put him an outfit for each day of the week in his closet. It would help him get himself dressed.
Great Job. That Dresser is Beautiful! I would paint the Zoo Navy Blue to Pull in the Curtain Color. I Love the Accent Walls & the Curtains too! Your little Boy is Absolutely Adorable! God Bless Love & Keep Y'all!😘 Juana
I love it!!! And your son is GLOWING in his new space 🥰. I agree with the folks who suggested staining the zoo the same as the top of your dresser. I love that your whole family has gotten on board and are wanting to help out, what a wonderful crew you have!
ok. I was at a friends house recently- my girlfriend, her husband and 2 kids all attended the same High School. All 4 of them had lettermen jackets. She incorporated those jackets into a space in a family room- as decorations. Yes she hung them all on a wall below a shelf filled with high school pictures and memorabilia. It looks awesome. Just saying...Wish I had pictures to show you.
The Zoo should be either white to match the other furniture OR stained to match the top of the dresser and the wooden bed frame. Theres already a lot of green and navy.
I kept the Letter from my Jacket. I have 1/2 of a photo box of non-photo memorabilia and the Letter made it through every declutter. I earned that letter 40 years ago.
@@LeafLikeOnATree my son built a zoo for my grandson and granddaughter. He used natural wood and silver metallic elastic then stapled some artificial greenery to drape over the sides here and there. As a final touch he personalized it with a hand painted piece that had their names and the word zoo across the top front edge. It's an awesome piece! I never thought of doing anything like it for my family. Wish I had that kind of creativity. I am sure that your children truly appreciate you!
I would say stain it the same color as the dresser top and just keep the letter off of the jacket. The room looks amazing an so much room to play without all the furniture
When we moved homes, I asked the children to go through their toys and things like that and put them in boxes (they were aobut 8-10) we move and I couldn't believe how light the boxes were. They packed looseleaf paper with a stick man drawn on it, a note from the school they found shoved in the closet. Basically they packed 10 boxes of recycling.
I love how the dresser came out. Personally I think it would look great under the big arch and if possible center the bed u see the other arch. Love the colors!
Looks so good! I like the stained dresser top but I like the idea of using the same color paint as on the dresser. Kids like color and when he’s older he most likely won’t have it anymore.
I took my husbands letterman jacket to hobby lobby and had it mounted in a shadow box along with photos of him in HS wearing it. It hangs on the wall in our house as decoration.
Your little boy is so cute & I love his room makeover. I would stain his zoo the same color as the dresser top. I need you to come to Ohio & paint a bunch of furniture for me.
Hello! Here from the Erica Lucas colab and also went from this to your first declutter of your little one's room - and it's interesting to watch this again with that video fresh in my mind. There are the dresses in the cupboard you mentioned - the boxes of grow-into clothes you already spent time sorting and put in a helpful note for future self - the build up from the decluttering and organising to the creative part of the whole process - thank you for sharing. Zoo could be that lovely blue colour with a few bright white hints, maybe? Also, perhaps some silver stars and a moon in the top of the arch over the bed - those ones which shine in the dark? Though, whole room is perfect just the way it is 😊
The bins you said you have with the kids sentimental clothes, your grandmother does quilting so maybe she can take them and make a quilt with peices of the clothes for each child, or she can make you a quilt. I saw it in a movie and thought I would share it, if no one else has suggested that.
I love Erica, I've followed her and Mrs. Heart (hoarder's heart) from the beginning. You are quickly joining their ranks in my you tube feed. I just adore you, and your realness. My dad kept his sweater, it was nice to see but I didn't care necessarily. That said I kept my letter jacket and it's not going anywhere. But yes, let the dress go, hang the pic of you in it up!
It’s lovely to see the sisters helping putting the bed together. They’ll feel useful and may started some handy hobbies. Your family is a joy to watch… keep on motivating us…
My first thought was bright red for the zoo (like the writing on the sign and because you'll probably use the dinosaur bedding again with that colour in it) but the safe way to go would be using the same stain as the dresser project. I just love your channel and all the family involvement, helping and supporting one another!
I love watching your videos everyday and I am glad you and your husband did a great job on the kids room you have great kids have a great week and you have a great family ❤❤❤❤❤❤ have a great day and the kids have a great rooms and I have trouble cleaning my bedroom ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊
It came out sooo good! I think you should paint it a blue green between the 2 paint colors (dresser and wall) . The girls are gonna want theirs done too. I liked the cringe and yes, it did look like your head was on fire 🔥 😆 Great Steven art project. Blurring his crack 😆. In the beginning of the summer i had low waisted pants and needed to garden. I was refusing to buy new pants cause I gained quarantine weight. I could of used your blur technology for my neighbors sake. I eventually used an apron folded backwards wrapped around my waist. Got high waisted jeans, man are they nice to keep the stomach in 😆tmi I bit the bullet and got a new vaccum and man do I love it! Got some much pet hair up. Now I just got to do a deeper purge of my craft room. I’m doing a great job at avoiding it.
It looks great! I completely agree about working away at decluttering until it becomes manageable. Youre also so right about the fact that if it's overwhelming for you, it's absolutely overwhelming for him! I was going to say paint the zoo red or orange but see everyone else is saying stain, and that would look great too!
Your husband is the best!! JK Great job on the transformation. I am continually impressed by your ability to create such inviting and practical spaces!!!
This is the first time I found your channel and you, your husband, and the puppies are so darn funny! I just had to sign up ... thanks for brightening my day.
Smashing job on the dresser. I don’t have a big enough closet to fit all the kids clothes into our closet but we do that for the younger kids. I would totally do it for all if I could! Lol 😂
Good morning!!!!!...tea in hand, can't wait..here we go!!!!!...OG Subscriber HERE!!!...THE ROOM LOOKS AMAZING..I would STAIN the zoo..the same as the top of the dresser!!!!
Honestly, I wish my Dad did have his letterman jacket. Unfortunately, my father got in trouble and the high school staff took it away. 🤷♀️ Back in the day the school would pay for it. My siblings and I all went to the same high school and the letterman jackets have evolved since my father's time. We were all crushed to learn what had happened to the jacket. It would of been cool 😎 to have it as a memorabilia in our family. Therefore, I say keep it!
I think the zoo would look good either yellow or red so it will pop in the room with all the blues and greens. I just found your channel and subscribed. Looking forward to seeing more.
I have been sat hung you for a while. I like that you keep it real. It is great to see your hubby getting right in there with you doing all the projects.
Lol…. Paint the “zoo” for sure….. with the left over shade of dark blue! Love the room! The dresser… omg how beautiful! Well done! So proud and happy for all.
EVERYTHING you said @4:30 was real. Peeling back the layers until we are comfortable managing stuff. LOVED this bedroom transformation!
Thanks Erica. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love the collab! I have been watching Erica since the beginning! Love watching both of you!
@@erinstine ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Do you still have the jacket..??
I would keep it, I would wear it if it was my moms.
Zoo should be stained the color of the top of the dresser?!?
Room is amazing!!!!!!
Thanks Cheryl!
i was going to say navy but i agree with this instead!! stain it!
I second this
Agreed
Love that your husband wants to put his touch on things. Such a sweet guy 😊
I cleaned out my grandparent’s house after their passing, mostly by myself. Yes, it was hard and ALOT! But finding my grandpa’s letterman sweater (they didn’t have jackets back then) was priceless and I treasure it!
2 great moms striving for their own versions of minimalism. Great collab. Your son's bedroom looks calming.
Hello - well done. I think you should stain it the same colour as the top of the dresser. Take care!
I think it came out great, very sheek shab and it's so calming
Agree
Same
Love it! I vote for the zoo to be stained the same color as the top of the dresser.
Hi Erika! Hope your are well! I think Staining is winning
Love it!! The zoo should be same stain as top
Of dresser!!!
I found Erica right at the start of her decluttering journey. I hope you have as much success as their family!
Dad saved his "letters" not the jackets, and yes, I was glad he saved them
Thanks for weighing in. I wouldn't have thought to remove the letters.
My oldest son, didn’t want a jacket or ring….. I saved his letters, pins, certificates… he is soon to be 24, and is confident and happy with what he keeps…. Loved this collaboration, 2 of my favorite TH-cam moms!
Awe, thanks Jill!
I love your “Jesus is my jam” shirt! So proud of you guys! Stick with peeling back your layers. You are such an inspiration to me!! 💜
Thanks for your encouragment Larissa!
me also love it
Stain it the same color as you did on top of the dresser. The room turned out really cute. Congrats on the 5,000 subscribers. Good job mom!!
Thank you so much!!

My mom has her letterman jacket and ill ABSOLUTELY, 100% keep it! She got it for band and that was an amazing part of her life.
Yes, my mother saved it and I am happy its beautiful reminder of 1940's
Put the Rawr! Sign over the the Zoo box! Maybe paint the Zoo box the same color as the dresser drawers. Going to be so cute.
Girl I thought that was on fire too! 😂
Even editing it kept distracting me. Just the reflection of the light and the fan playing tricks on us.
Love your vlog, thank you! And no, you're not losing it, I thought there was a fire in the closet, too!
The tunnels make me think of the Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner cartoons! Room looks great!
Great Job. That Dresser is Beautiful! I would paint the Zoo Navy Blue to Pull in the Curtain Color. I Love the Accent Walls & the Curtains too! Your little Boy is Absolutely Adorable! God Bless Love & Keep Y'all!😘 Juana

I never would have thought to frame it. Maybe I can find a pic on Pinterest (can you tell I like that app 😂)
That is the coolest
The Zoo should be either white to match the other furniture OR stained to match the top of the dresser and the wooden bed frame.
Theres already a lot of green and navy.
Your face @7:50 when you dumped the box on yourself. lol
Lol. I was not thinking happy thoughts in that moment. 😂
I kept the Letter from my Jacket. I have 1/2 of a photo box of non-photo memorabilia and the Letter made it through every declutter. I earned that letter 40 years ago.
lmao "let's just cringe together" i love it hehehe we've all had those moments while cleaning out
Great transformation!! If your stairs are carpeted, you can flip the dresser over and "slide" it up the stairs instead of carrying it up.
Yup. Nicely done!! I vote for the stain matching the dresser too. Thanks for the video.
Staining the zoo the same as the dresser would look nice 😊
Yes and I’m glad I have it!! Keep those precious things and pass on those things that others could use.
I love Erica her talk are so motivational.I think you should paint the zoo the same blue as the curtains. I love your videos too.
Stain the zoo with the same color as the dresser top.🦖🦕ROAR! AWESOME JOB! First video I've seen of yours. Subscribed! Sent from Erica Lucas. 👍
Welcome Kimberly!

I took pictures of things like lettermans jackets. It made it easier to get rid of stuff and when my girls grew up they didn't want any of that stuff.
I would say stain it the same color as the dresser top and just keep the letter off of the jacket. The room looks amazing an so much room to play without all the furniture
Eric is adorable. ❤ Awesome video, as always! TFS, Valerie 🌻
The perfect color for the zoo is green, of course. The same green as you used on the dresser. Good job! Greetings from germany!

HI love you and your sweet family. Layer bye layer is awesome. Love Erica Lucas. Wishing all the love and hugs. 😊💕🌻
This channel is always happy. Out of the mouth of babes! 😊
Paint the zoo red or Orange for a pop of color! The room looks great. ❤️
My husband saved his Letterman's jacket and my son can't wait to wear it! Definitely save it.
Please teach me the finger snap!! I need that tool!
LOVE! I have been subbed for a while but you're quickly becoming one of my favs to watch! x
Your little boy is so cute & I love his room makeover. I would stain his zoo the same color as the dresser top. I need you to come to Ohio & paint a bunch of furniture for me.
Good job! Stay the course! Here's an idea, when I buy one thing and bring it home, two have to go. After a while it makes a difference.
I LOLed at the closet fire! I had the same thought a few moments before you 😂😂😂
Even editing it kept distracting me. Just the reflection of the light and the fan playing tricks on us.
What a cute "outro"! The room turned out great and he's so obviously happy about it! Great job!
Just started following today and you guys are definitely my favorite!

I agree with staining the zoo like the top of the dress or, but the standing poles of it made green.
I love his new room it's awesome!! And I think the zoo should be the same color as the dresser drawers
Bedroom turned out great. I love the color of dresser. I think you should paint the zoo same color of dresser.

Just came over from Ericas channel and subscribed🤗
Eric looks so much like Steven
Definitely stain the zoo! I love how the room turned out. The dresser is my favorite.
Mine too!
I’d paint the Zoo the same green that’s on you beautiful new dresser!!!
Lol, that is so Erica. She has been so inspirational the last year for me.
Eric's room looks great! Y'all did a super job!
I love Eric's videos. I am not a minimalist but have been purging because we have too much stuff.
It looks great! I completely agree about working away at decluttering until it becomes manageable. 👏🎉Congrats on your 5k+ growth. Your realism and humor will keep'em coming.👍😎The room looks awesome!😊
Wow! His room so very good and cool 😎 Great job parents! Any colorful you have for the zoo will look great! Can’t wait o see more!
Your husband is the best!! JK Great job on the transformation. I am continually impressed by your ability to create such inviting and practical spaces!!!
Yes he is 😜
This is the first time I found your channel and you, your husband, and the puppies are so darn funny! I just had to sign up ... thanks for brightening my day.
Eric is a spitting image of his daddy ☺
Same, I have to have music during chores.
Everything turned out so great. I say paint it 🟡 yellow to make the room pop.
Smashing job on the dresser. I don’t have a big enough closet to fit all the kids clothes into our closet but we do that for the younger kids. I would totally do it for all if I could! Lol 😂
I saw someone do that and I was like, that’s brilliant if you have small kids.
I did a family closet for quite awhile, minimize as much as you can and zone the space so everyone has space.
Love the design. Worried about tub shuffling. I vote navy for the zoo
Good morning!!!!!...tea in hand, can't wait..here we go!!!!!...OG Subscriber HERE!!!...THE ROOM LOOKS AMAZING..I would STAIN the zoo..the same as the top of the dresser!!!!
I will never forget my OG subscribers! Ya'll are what kept this train moving.
I would love to have one of my parents letterman’s jacket!!! Keep!!

AWESOME JOB EVERYONE 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
I think you should paint the zoo blue and white stripes to match the curtains😁
Yeah. I just went through the kids clothes. They all grew at once. We keep finding stragglers that missed the cut that don't quite fit.
I think the zoo would look good either yellow or red so it will pop in the room with all the blues and greens.
I just found your channel and subscribed. Looking forward to seeing more.
Make your little girl a summer dress or quilt from all these dresses. Nice pillows?.
Wow! Looks great! That dresser!😱😍
I say blue or black or orange or brown or yellow for his zoo❤❤❤❤❤❤
I have been sat hung you for a while. I like that you keep it real. It is great to see your hubby getting right in there with you doing all the projects.
Boy I can't type! Watching for a while is what it should have been.
Congrats on 5000 subscribers! 🥳
Lol…. Paint the “zoo” for sure….. with the left over shade of dark blue! Love the room! The dresser… omg how beautiful! Well done! So proud and happy for all.
I would paint the boys room zoo, white or a wood stain👍🏻☺️
I think you should paint it green, looks really good ❤❤
Hi Shannon, It should be stained the same as the top of the dresser! It looks awesome!!!
I vote for staining it like the dresser! The room looks great!
