    You are right!! Some people always project their emotions,insecurities,their problems on us!!!! So Its nothing personal,but they reflect their character by doing this!!

    I took things really personal when I was younger because I wanted to be perfect, the best, and I was prideful. Took me forever to realize this. Most people lash out because of them.

    I hate to say it, but not only is this a great video, but it's even better than the TED talk on the same topic. Just gets straight to the point.

    This video has just saved my life from turning into an absolute disaster. I love you, I love you so much. God bless you and I hope God gives you everything that you desire and deserve and hope for. I will start looking at all your video’s, when they say “it’s all in your head”, this video truly means it, and it really is all in my head, I need to start studying, I shall start from today and change my life and start over from now. God bless you sir

      By working on your mind, to understand, it's not personal, otherwise, distance is required. Disrespect is the cause of the projector... now that said, it's a big difficult deal to reprogram our minds to think differently, especially considering what the childhood was like, but sure, before getting strong ask them to quit or give yourself some space to figure you out.
      It's torture to absorb their negative energy, because you might end up believing it.

    What difference does it make? Personal or not, their behavior will still piss you off regardless.
    Besides, the last person who roasted me was nice to everyone else. How is that not personal.

  • @controllerbrain

    Question, does this mean that if a someone frequently insults you, you should let it slide and continue the relationship like nothing happened?

    My Grandparents immigrated from another country to Germany. When they came here they had to do lower jobs, like cleaning etc. and had no chance to educate themselfes. So how should someone like that get enough skills and abilities to build selfworth on it?

    Yeah right coach "nothing is personal" is just a poem to me. Just like cheap bandaids on serious open wound. Try telling your poem to the kids that get bullied or spouses who are abused but locked in, or someone who gets abused by a pastor they trusted. Coaches for kids are trusted. Weve lost all sense if we enable these bullies who act like 3 yr old temper tantrum sucklings, fatlings. SOLUTION: Speak to each person AS THEY DESERVE and teach them you expect more of them and paint the scenario "do unto to others" remind them to THINK first: T-thoughtful? H-helpful? I-inspiring? N-necessary? K-kind? If no teaches them by example or demonstartion how it can affecdt others they will go on blindly hurting people and storeing up destruction for themselves. If you love people teach them but dont stand still and be a victem.

    Should you take it personal if you find someone anger toward you, a personal threat?

    • @mentaltoughnesstips
      @mentaltoughnesstips  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      frank qu that's a great question! Thank you for asking. If you feel personally threatened by another person you should first make sure you are safe. Which could mean removing yourself from the situation and reaching out to family, friends and professionals for help. When another person expresses the emotion of anger it still is about them and not about you. They are choosing this reaction not you. This is mindset can be very freeing. Head on over to mentaltoughnesstrainer.com/ we have a lot of great content on building confidence, dealing with fear and handling pressure.

    All you're doing is teaching people to pass the blame on to someone else, which is basically being a narcissist. And the circle goes round and round.
