That particular verse has been misinterpreted. The so called little kids/children were a group of at least 42 young men. The word misinterpreted is the Hebrew naar and was used to refer to servants, soldiers and even Isaac (another biblical figure) when he was 28 years old. This was a crowd of over 42 young men who (knew what they were doing) ganged up and threatened/bullied one man - Elisha. Also, it is assumed the Bears mauled 42 of them, not necessarily ate/ killed them. The Hebrew word used for maul, "baqa" also means to break through. It is very likely the bears dispersed them/broke up the crowd.

In middle school I had an art teacher who hated me for no reason. He was constantly rude, and though he was right about everything, telling me I’d never succeed in art unless I did things exactly the way he told me, I wouldn’t get into this prestigious art highschool I wanted to go to, etc. I did a cardboard sculpture for one of his projects, and he told me he was going to present it to the whole school. I had really bad social and public speaking anxiety, so this was a nightmare for me. I told him no, that he wasn’t allowed to, and I was taking the project home. He tried to power move “I can do whatever I want because I’m an adult” me, and tried to insult and argue with me. After a few minutes, I promptly stood up, got the sculpture, dropped it on the ground, and stomped on the middle (weakest part) so it was ruined (I hated the project anyway). He looks at me with complete disgust and says “Wow. Real mature”. I hit him back with “I’m eleven, I don’t have to be mature.” He looked genuinely shocked, like he’d forgotten he was feuding with someone a quarter of his age. Anyway, I got into that art school, without any of his help (he was fired the next year.)

Once at Walmart when checking out, the cashier was a younger guy who seemed pretty rude. My total was $130, I gave him A hundred and two twenty’s. The computer told him to give me back $104.55, he grabs out a hundred dollar bill and the change, he looks at the money one time and just shakes his head like “ I could give two f**ks” and hands me the change.
I only ended up paying $35 for $130 worth of items thanks to that guy.

In highschool my economics teacher had a little more than half of the class were failing because we didn't do the homework since she gave us so much to do for homework. She got tired of us not handing in homework and said "more than half of you are possibly going to fail this class and yet almost none of the one's failing has even tried to change this. What is the reason for this?" I then put my hand up and said with monotone voice and look" you know, if you stopped giving us so much homework on days you know we got homework from a bunch of teachers we would probably be able to do it, actually if you just stopped giving us so much homework more people would be able to do your homework." I got in trouble obviously after I said what I said but it was worth it since she finally got to hear what me and the other students were really thinking.

My teacher was telling us a story about the smartest math student he ever had. He asked her why she wasn't doing her work. She looked at him and walked out the door left math for a week until the final test for that unit (they had 2 weeks for the unit btw) She sat down and finished it in 10 mins while the rest of the class did it in 30 mins to a 1 hour. She told him she already knew it when she passed it in answering the question he asked her. She got a 100.

I lived in France for the first 8 years of my schooling, and when I moved to the US they were just starting to learn Algebra I at the school I was going to. I had already learned Geometry, and Trigonometry as well as basic Calculus and Statistics. Algebra I was something I learned multiple years prior.

There is a major difference in "just being a kid" and having troubles behaving correctly in a world where you are not the only existence
Sometimes, some of those kids have their brains wired differently, so it's not their own fault. But, they can be nurtured into behaving better, given the chance.

I had a social studies teacher in highschool who would always walk around and take students snacks, one time a buddy of mine had a pot brownie and the teacher walked up and put his hand on the kids desk, then picked up the brownie and ate it in 3 bites, he then went back to his desk and about 15 minutes later he walked over to my buddy and asked if it was a pot brownie, he said if he said yes and he told anybody both of them would get in a large amount of trouble so my buddy said yes in fact it was a pot brownie, teacher then went back to his desk and said class we are watching a film today and he put on waterboy with Adam Sandler and he soon fell asleep at his desk stoned out of his mind

In response to your analysis of the second story, yes and no...
The manager wanted OP gone, but OP was scheduled to work a certain shift, and then quit minutes after starting the shift. It is VERY hard to find another employee to cover that opening at such short notice, and all while they also have to be helping customers and maintaining stock, or whatever else their normal responsibilities are. We don't know exactly what their job was, but it is possible that they are a very small store and only have a few employees, or they get super busy around that time and the manager was getting overwhelmed.
That is why (i think) OP made it a point to include that they were only part time and as such was not legally *required* to give notice...it is however, a courtesy you should give all of your future bosses, whether you are part time or not.
*It is usually best NOT to burn bridges once you've crossed them, especially if you plan to put that job on your resume, because your future employers can and often will contact your previous employers to ask them their opinions of you.
The last story reminds me of my last captain "Ice Man". We were out on patrol in our nuclear sub, and had a games night to relieve the boredom. The wardroom dining table had been set up as a snooker table, and the captain had just taken a shot, he needed just the pink to win. The ball rolled slowly towards the pocket and stopped, balanced miraculously on the edge. As the captain's opponent moved towards the table, the captain raised his hand and the crewman stopped. The skipper looked at the XO and said "control room phone no.1" He was handed the phone and the skipper told the officer of the watch, 15 degrees down planes come to XXXX feet. The ball dropped into the pocket. 😎

On my girlfriend's last day working at mcdonalds, a lady came through the drive thru and after recieving her food, requested a few packets of mild sauce. She explained she loves putting it on her scrambled eggs. So my loving (now fiance) goes to the back, grabs an entire box of thousands of these packets and just hands it to her. She damn near teared up. My fiance said, "i dont give a shit, its my last day before nursing school"

Worked at wendy's for a stint. Had a pretty serious cold that developed into bronchitis a few days later. Anyway, I spent two or three days working with a stuffy nose and whatnot. Around the 4th day, I was really feeling it and tried to call out. Black eye bags from lack of sleep, a dead stare looking only in front of myself, moving at a snail's pace, ready to pass out at the drop of a dime. Management wasn't having it. About 45 minutes into the shift, the manager announces, "inspector here, is everything clean and in order?" To which we replied with a yes. Well, apparently the inspector had the idea to have a bite before getting busy, since he allegedly showed up 15 minutes earlier than initially scheduled. He orders his food, and I take it all the the front counter to put it on his tray. Then I start dry heaving, like I'm about to die. Placed an arm on either side of his tray with the fresh meal we'd just made him, an started hacking up my insides all of the beautiful cheese fries and baconator. Made absolutely sure he saw every bit of it, as well as other customers that had already been sitting, plus those waiting in line. Then I called his name, "order up..." and walked back to my station. To no one's surprise, he wasn't about to eat it, and waved me back over. I told him that I was sick and apologized, but I was made to come in, anyway. He got the gist of it and asked for the manager. I went back to get her from the office and by the time she'd walked up front to see him, this absolute unit of a man had the regional manager on the phone (unknown to everyone that they were good friends) and they were both waiting for an explanation as to why I was at work that day. She was suspended for a week, then when she came back in 7 days later, was notified that her new location is 45 minutes away.
I think inspector gadget and I made a good tag team, thanks to the regional manager having a little humanity.

My friends uncle who like 16 at the time was having a bad day when crossing the road he gets hit by a car, skids across the road and lays there for a while then he gets up brushes himself and continues across the road, walks to the bus stop and just casually stands there it was amazing

I have a good one, my dad was in the navy and served on a destroyer, at the time this happened he was a lookout on the fan tail and there was a guy fishing down on the deck, the captain of the ship started talking to the guy fishing and asked if he was having any luck, the guy responded “naw not really, we’re going to fast so I don’t think I’m gonna get anything” the captain said “too fast? Well how fast would we need to go for you to catch something” the guy said “well I don’t know how fast we are going now but I’d say I might be able to catch something if we were doing about 5 knots” so the captain then looks at my dad and tell him to call the bridge and tell them to slow down to 5 knots, my dad tells the captain that they won’t believe that the captain is there and actually told him that, so the captain tells my dad to tell them to slow down and if they want they can come check to see if he is there if they’d like, so my dad calls the bridge and says “hey, the captain is back here on the fan tail and says to slow the ship down to 5 knots” the bridge tells my dad that they aren’t going to slow down because some lookout says the captain is back there(aka like my dad thought, they didn’t believe it) so my dad tells the captain what they said, the captain then walks up, grabs the phone and calls the bridge back, when they answer the captain says “hey it’s me and I said slow the d*mn ship down to 5 knots, there’s a man trying to fish out here” then the captain hangs up the phone looks at my dad and just grins 😂😂😂

First Captain aboard my ship (a gator freighter) set a date for "authorized summer attire", which meant we wore civilian summer wear whenever out at sea... like a whole ship full of Blue Navy and Seals running around in regular shorts and tank-tops, cut-off jeans... what have you... because it was "officially summer"...
The only "at sea" exceptions were specific details, like any-time we were in "close quarters" with other ships for maneuvers, (underway replenishments for instance) or publication photo operations, and coming into port... (Had to look respectable with eyes about)... ;o)

A friend of mine and i were skating in the streets and he found a great stair set where other skaters were also skating it so we were about 12-15 people. The Stairset was about 1.50m high and he fell straight down because a small stone blocked his path. He fell on his shoulder and we all heard a loud knack. He just stood up and asked a stranger if they could call him an ambulance. He never complained about pain at all which in the first moment was great bc we thought it couldn't be so bad but as it turned out he broke his collarbone in two places and ripped his tricep on his right side. Yeah I have a similar story, I was playing pick up football. 6v6 quarterback, 5 receivers vs 5 defenders and a safety. I do my usually 5 yards and cut, catch the ball, I'm short but bulky, I got three people on me, but I'm still going, 5 people on me, I'm still inching( I've scored with 3 guys on me before) 6th guys comes and jumps on top of us sending us all to the ground while everyone's on me. You heard a large snap like a huge branch got snapped. I got up, looked at every1 and said I can't move my left arm I think somethings broken. Everyone but my best friend just start saying dude you would be in so much pain right now, no way you broke anything. I go to the hospital and they tell me I broke my collar bone. I come to school the next day with a sling and everyone still couldn't believe how I showed no sign of pain. I have another football story too where I got stitches too, blood gushing right above my forehead from colliding heads(no helmets in pick up), everyone was staring at me, I was just like what until I went to scratch the area and saw my hand covered in blood. I used to do mma, but I believe I just have a high pain tolerance.

If you think your injury is serious you’re more focused on treatment and in some cases survival than the pain.

Had a 8 lbs speaker fall on my face a couple weeks ago while I was sleeping, right on the ridge of my eye socket. Another millimeter and I would probably have been blinded. Hell of a wake up, I sit up and put my hand to my head, pull it back and there’s lots of blood, next thing I know I got blood literally dripping down my face
I just got out of bed, walked to the bathroom, grabbed a towel and wiped the blood as it came out. The cut was barely a centimeter if that. The only part that actually hurt was when I put hydrogen peroxide on it
Still got a small lump the size of a baby’s fingertip, but the cut and black eye are completely gone, I joked a little about a possible fracture but I’m sure the lump will be gone soon
Once at my school during a sporting event (long jump). I tripped and landed exactly on my elbow very hard on a hard surface. So I ended up breaking 2 elbow bones with a dislocation. I never felt any pain but I did feel a tinch of pain when the doctor was relocating my bone in front of 50 students and teachers. Everyone did say you are gonna be in pain, I never had any pain at all. But later my physiotherapy was just a horrible experience.
Idk if anyone will see this but, had a lot of broken bones by the time i was 16 since i was practicing a lot of sports especially judo, was omw to the movie theatre with 2 friends and a woman failed to stop her car in time hitting me and one of my friends at around 60km/h (40mph), i basically did a flip and landed back standing up after breaking her front window, my mate was dragged 15more meters on top of her engine, the first thing she does after finally stopping the car was to get down and yell at us for breaking her car. I didnt even realise how bad i was hit and that my whole left hand was bleeding from shattered glass, only to be pointed out by the one friend that wasn't hit. She only got a fine for moral damage since none of us broke any bones sadly (she would've ended up in a jail vacation). At the police station we were said that she had over 40 minor crashes in the last year, had to pay us 5k € each and got her driving license permanently suspended. F that woman.

Growing up my stepfather was pretty harsh. At one point he took my electronics privileges away for a year, then extended it, then again. At the end I went 3 years without electronics. So I got them back when I was 15. When I was 16 he did it again. Told me to bring him my laptop. I said "okay. Can I borrow your axe please?" "Sure" so I go get my laptop, take the battery out, and throw it on the ground in front of him, axe in hand. I beat the pulp out of my laptop with the axe, it's toast. I was so sick of his shit, and getting back into that cycle was just not going to happen. He wound up punishing me even further for doing that, because he said I did it to spite him. I was trying to difuse the situation immediately without wasting both our time on some bullshit punishment. You think I don't deserve electronics? Fine. Instead of hanging it over my fucking head, say bye bye to laptop (literally the only piece of electronics that I had) and let's move on. The real reason he was angry I think is because I took the power away from him. He was in control of the situation and I flipped it sideways. I have a lot of anger towards that asshole and he doesn't even realize, because I try to put on a good show for my mother when he is around. Only reason I stayed at home is because no matter how much of a dick he is my mother is like a goddess to him and he treats her like the most precious thing on earth. If he didn't....... I walk up to her window and ask if she’s called the number on the back of the test, she says “she was never told to call the number”, I said no you were told to call you just didn’t listen”. She like what Will calling the number even do, I proceed to say “it’ll give us your Info so we can get your labels printed and come collect your test. She continues to argue. I go “you can be a smart intellectual human being and call the number but since I’m already here, here’s this form, fill it out so I can go get your stuff for you”. I'm a McDonald's Manager, and today I was down 3 people (roster of 7 people as we are a smaller store, so nearly half). I asked one of the kitchen workers if he could work on the counter for 1-1.5h later today so delivery and after school rush went a bit smoother. Well he didn't like that idea so much he didn't just say no, he decided to start swearing at me and threaten to walk out. (context, he is trained on counter and regularly works there, but he prefers kitchen, however he doesn't get many shifts there as we have too many kitchen workers for how often we need them and he is very lazy). So I didn't think twice when yelling at him and telling him if he speaks to me like that again he won't have to worry about working here besides the kitchen, he shut his mouth and I walked away to serve a customer, I was thinking about it obviously and in that time I realised it would be better to not have him in the kitchen at all as the food would be ready long before the counter would be ready to start getting it out.
So not even a minute after the interaction I sent him home, so literally running down half a roster. If you've been to McDoanld's Burger King/Hungry Jacks, KFC etc you'll know that wait times can get pretty extreme. We average 149s, which is still below McDonald's standard, but it's still very impressive and very happy my team backed me on my irrational decision.
Also this cunt was an hour late to work, and he's been sent home early for various reasons from being drunk to just plain being a cockhead.

I had TAs like the person with ahole prof. Almost didn't graduate, went to the prof the day grades were to be turned in and the graduation was being held. Had all my exams; his reaction was "what the hell were my TA's doing, you did all the math correctly, like absolutely, perfectly, correct, but messed up a little on your conclusion. I ended up with a D in the class, said he wished I'd come to him sooner, then looked at my schedule, asked if I worked. I did, my schedule was bonkers, 3 days a week 8-5 and the other 2 days (his office hour days), were spent at work. One of the chillest profs ever though, he apparently spoke to another prof I had and decided he was going to help me out.
Yea, got chewed out on monday for taking friday off. I had notified them three weeks earlier and every day after that that i was taking my birthday off.. So while he is chewing me out i swing my clipboard past his face and smash it against my toolbox. And then i closed and locked my toolbox. Then i turned and sayed i quit and walked out.

It depends on the situation. I usually bag my customer's bag if there is no room and the customer i'm getting through, got like one worth of bag, to make the line go faster, while they pay.

A bagger at a grocery store is one of the few jobs that people with *severe* forms of special needs (mental issues like autism or down syndrome) are often qualified for. The government disability checks in America are not enough to live on, so they have to have another form of income to support themselves.
In addition, as someone already stated above, having someone else bag your groceries while you pay saves time and keeps the lines moving along faster; which is good for business.
My best story on this is when my cousins (or smt like that, my mom's cousin's daughters so whatever those are called), who were pretty spoiled and used to people obliging to whatever they wanted, were on a road trip with me and my mom. My mom is the kind of person to just drive with as little stops as possible, so when my cousins complained that they wanted to stop for food she said no. They started to complain that they couldn't go hungry for so-and-so reason and etc, and my mom just said, "Well, life sucks and then you die."
