You don't need to use any sandpaper. You have to tighten the screw, not the plastic around the screw. That's all.
I don't remember if I told you this, but based on your review of the SJ4000, I went and bought one. It works great for the price! I honestly feel it has better color, saturation, detail and sharpness than the GoPro comparisons I've seen on TH-cam. Audio is excellent as well. I paid a little more than what most are going for because it was shipped from Los Angeles (free shipping & insurance) and since I live close by, I received it by mail in just two days!!!!

I decided to get a SJCAM M10 Cube after looking at all your reviews of the SJ4000.
I noted that extreme angle for the helmet mount was necessary back whan I was fooling around with a MD80. Thank goodness for the wide-angle lenses of the Mobius & SJ4000. My first attempts with a MD80 either had too much road or too much sky.
is there a setting so I can hear engine roar or anykind of equipment, please reply

I actually tried this once, putting my Gopro on the side of my racing helmet, but then right away one thing I noticed after I put on the helmet, and I dont know if this was because I put it on the wrong spot on the side of it, but I could feel the weight of the bracket and the camera and I had a lot of trouble with being able to keep my head upright, and not having it tilt to the side of which the camera was placed, now did I do something wrong here, or is this a common thing once you attach the camera to the side of the helmet? Thank you......
great video man. but i do have a question. how do you work with the self timer? i cant seem to figure it out. the motion detection only applies to the video, been trying it to capture picture but it doesn't work. can you help me? thanks
What are the settings that you used as I just tried mine out for the first time and it was super zoomed in and you could hardly see anything but the road ? +Techmoan

DHi everybody can you please give me some suggestions on how to verify with videotape and a go pro hero 4 silver my 1299S when it intermittently and randomly and unexpectedly stalls out? Every time i take it to the dealer they said they can't duplicate the problem and Ducati of North America video taped my bike with no problems. But my 1299s still stalls out on me in congested stop in go traffic all the time and when I feather the clutch and drive between 0 to 15 mph on the street or freeway. However I'm an amateur and I just purchased a hero 4 go pro silver camera do you have suggestions on how to mount it to the 1299S gas tank ? I'm concerned with losing the camera what type a suction mount the go pro hero 4 camera? Should I use the 1 leg big suction cup or 3 leg suction cup or mount the camera on top of my helmet I want to hear the bike shutting down in my video, and I want to show myself stuck in stop n go traffic on the freeway or the bike shutting down on the street as I slow down to make a turn or come to a stop. Or mount camera or under my chin mount? Or on top of helmet mount. I want to see the road speed displayed on the dash to verify the bike stops when I drive 0-15 mph. I want to show the lights going off when the bike shuts down at night when I drive at night. I want to show me pushing the start button and going into neutral gear to restart the bike in the video. What I should I use and what can I use in case the suction loses its grip to keep the camera from damaging the motorcycle and the camera in case it falls thanks advance for everything. The dealer said prove the 1299s is stalling out with video verification because they claim everything is checking out A ok on the computer test sheet with Ducati engineers and Ducati video tape that they won't show me What would you do? Thanks in advance for everything. I have adobe creative suite I don't know how to use it for editing any suggestions?
I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but how did you get your footage on TH-cam? I tried to upload a video today that was a .MOV from this camera and it wouldn't publish because TH-cam said it was the wrong file type. I don't know if it's something with the camera, the sd card or what
Thanks for the info. I bought a California Sugar Wide Angle, ($40 USD on Amazon) it is pretty much the same one, only with a wider screen. The thing is, the instruction manual that comes with it is terrible, so I really appreciate your clips on it.
The only problem is no access for the USB port, so I marked it and machined a hole for the plug. Then I used some of the UV activated polymer type adhesive to build up a shoulder around the plug. I put a little silicone di-electric grease on the surface of the plug to act as a release agent first. Now I can plug it in while riding, while still using the case. This still keeps it pretty well protected.
I plan to use this camera on a cross country trip in a few weeks, that will include Sturgis and points west including the Pacific Coast Highway from Seattle to San Diego.

Just ordered mine off Ebay. Just was curious if we could use an external MIC using an adapter (micro - usb). would it be compatible? and also would the device support it. I have seen an adapter available for GoPro. Wuld it be safe to use it? or would I be just wasting my money.

Hello. Have you found out yet what settings (resolution, hdr, quality, sharpness, iso, antishaking) are the best for filming while riding a motorcycle? What combination makes the optimal video? I have my SJCAM mounted on the top of my helmet and I'm trying different combinations of settings, but it'll take me quite some time to find out which settings are optimal. :)
does the screen power off when recording for extending periods of time? what kind of battery life do you get?

plugged mine into the usb in the car it chargers the battery but does not record when plugged in.any idea why its not recording
I'm always wondering if those attachments for the helmet are not gonna come off as you drive around with the camera attached to it. I mean, its only 170 grams or so, sure.. thats not a massive amount. But when this cam in its waterproof case sticks out from the side of your helmet as you gain higher speeds, it will catch some wind, right?
I know theres a cable included to secure it in case it does come off, but i dont think theres a way to do that easily on a helmet.

I figured that you can add some sponge padding in the cover holes so the loud noise will be muffled, like a microphone with sponge cover.
What kind of sandpaper did you use? Aren't there varying degrees/types/roughness of sandpaper?

I've taken part in recording motorbike engines for professional audio use, and the way we did it was with a three mic set up. One inside the faring near the air intake, a second in the faring but nearer the engine and the last basically put on to the reg plate to catch the exhaust sound, with a big bag on my back to record it all. Worked a charm and got great sound, but this was purely for audio purposes though with no video recording. Tempted to get this camera!

If you cut a bit of bicycle inner tube and have that on the frame for the mount it'll majorly reduce vibration

Dd you run the video through any post editing to reduce or get rid of any shakes or vibration from the bike? Enjoyed the video. Am thinking of getting one for my Mazda Miata. Tried a very good quality Canon Camcorder mounted to the inside of my windshield, but got a lot of jittering and shaking that the camera's stabilization could not eliminate. Cheers, STEVE/USA
hmm well my helmet is a caberg duke II and it has a diamond cut shape and there is not a exact spherical surface. what shall I do?

i bought this camera and mounted it in the very front of my motorcycle helmet, and it picked up the noise of my motorcycle quite well at medium revs, also the view is much better then installing it at the side.

I did notice from the shadow that you mounted the camera on the left side of your helmet. If you have the typical bike configuration, your exhaust is on the right side. Would not mounting it on the right have increased the bike sound? Just a thought. Thanks.
