This might be the best educational poker series I have seen. I play cash and this series has added a large number of tools to my toolbelt. Really like the check back flop to protect your turn range in position. Turn is the most challenging street for me and this tip will really help me prepare for it a lot of spots.

Another very insightful and interesting hand breakdown Daniel, appreciate the explanation of checking top pair on the flop. Definitely don't want to be overplaying top pair, but also be prepared to call turn and being cautious so opponents can't exploit you for just playing 2 pair or better. Thanks again man!

Excellent! The actual wisdom required to play, exceeds the level of thought that most people put towards the game! The more I study the more I think of Hercule Poirot, 'The little gray cells, they do not lie' I believe it's hard for people to set ego aside and allow true-self to make decisions that are logical. Ego can't understand small ball, and True-self just shakes it's head at the grandeur of Ego. True self is sadistic, and Ego seems masochistic. No wonder they both live in our heads.

Love these videos Daniel, they’ve been really useful to my understanding. I wanted to ask, you mentioned during the flop how you have a lot in your range that can connect, but I notice you didn’t consider chances of flopping a set. Is it pointless to consider chances of trips? I’d think if Daniel has more in his range that can connect, then Daniel also has more chance of flopping a set off the low card, 6, than I do if I was 4xing pre flop.

To me the most interesting decision in this hand is Chewy checking flop because I imagine it is a board a lot of his draws bet big, he just has enough of them that he needs to be selective.

First of all: you are doing a great job with these videos. I really enjoy them. I'm not saying that justify my next move, which is to disagree with you when it comes to AL's overbet. Against a lot of players it is fine, even though I am not the biggest fan of these bets in general, but against someone that is as sticky as hell (as you are), I think it too often is building a pot for the opponent. Against a player that is super sticky, you simply don't win the pot on the turn often enough for it to be profitable, I think.
Would this pot had any other outcome if the bet was 305k? Or even 205k? I know this in only one single pot and not a sample size, but feel free to use this question to make a video to look at the different outcomes of different bet sizes.
Everything I write here in 100 % based on my own thinking and no solvers, so I am sorry if i have (or will) be proven wrong. I think the discussion is an important one however you look at it.
I'm a humble rec and I play micros, so all the stuff explained here has almost no value at my tables because the average level of thinking is "I hit bottom pair I'm all in!", but I love listening to Negs. The way he talks about poker, players, maths, strategy is so satisfying. DNegs is the greatest of all times because not only he is super good at poker, but he is a great Master! 🙌
Solid poker concepts apply everywhere, even microstakes. The biggest misconception people have is I play small stakes so it doesn’t apply to me. For example, when Daniel says having the Td makes it so your opponent can’t have KdTd holds true at any level, just cause it’s micro stakes doesn’t mean this is not true.

Please don't bite my head off, but honest question. Why did you look at your cards again after the $405K bet was made? If I'm dealt a hand worth playing, I memorize the cards, including suits, and don't look again unless I have to show for showdown.

But I have a question: the concept of a blocker makes lots of sense when you can "eliminate" a certain RANK of card. But in the case of a SUIT blocker, isn't the probability impact relatively small?
If I have a J and there are only 3 left, the probability of a J has decreased by 25%.
If there are two spades on the board, then by me also having a spade the probability of the opponent having another spade goes from 11 to 10 -- about a 10% decrease in probability. Please correct my math if I am missing something.
Isn't it fair to say that all the other factors that lead you to one action over another must be a very very close call for a suit blocker to matter?
You aren't wrong but not entirely correct either. First of all, not all instances of a certain suit are played. So there aren't really as many spades in play because some spades fold (27 with the 2 of spades folds pre for example). Also, just by blocking 1 spade you block around 1/7 of all suited combos (78 combos without block and 66 with block), and with a high spade you block a big portion of the good ones. Unsuited combos is similar but your impact is a bit less. But the impact of having a suit blocker is higher than 10% because hands come in pairs of 2 cards and the combinatorics is different.

The reasoning of the turn bets and call make alot of sense, but would it be a poor play by Licthenberger to again overbet the river? Based on his pre-flop, could he legitmatly rep AA, KK, QQ or any potential sets?

Funny modern day poker is just memorising what a computer would do. The modern game is really no different to a simple memory game. Quite sad how the game ended up really.

Well, with one card you are not really "blocking" a lot, even though you reduce the number of possible combinations.
Good example: once I had KK and the board paired and showed a straight which could have been realized by holding KT. I excluded that my opponent had a boat, which was right. But he hold the KT, even though I was "blocking" the Kings, with the two of those that I hold. Yes, there had been only two kings out, not four - which made it less likely that he had those (together with the ten), but he did, of course. It is less likely, but it is not really "blocked".
Sometimes though you really are blocking very specific holdings of your opponent. He never will have the but flush if you hold the specific ace for example.
