    It always feels like the biggest gap in play between me and pros is not being able to fold good hands. Seeing players infinitely better than me having the same troubles sometimes, makes me wanna become better however. I think the best thing about your videos is exactly that, not only through other people's hands, but through introspection do you make me want to study harder! If anybody deserves this luck, it's definitely you. Keep it up! 💯

Poker isn't 100% skill based, right or wrong decisions are not based on outcome, especially if you know the game enough to play your opponent's range, not try to read their exact hand. That would be an absolutely SICK laydown though. I see what Negreanu means when he breaks it down, but no one can seriously blame him for going all in there, and I think if the roles were reversed, Negreanu would also call/go all-in.

    • @seanmcmahon3447
      @seanmcmahon3447 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I think most people would call that, it’d be an absolute hero lay down to fold it and if you’re playing anyone out of the blind position 99% of the time you’re gonna be confident with the 3rd nuts

    • @johnmaynard3463
      @johnmaynard3463 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Yeah no chance Dnegs has ever folded in this scenario before. The chance that your opponent is trying to value bet 5s/4s full over a flush...even though that would be a bad move...is enough to be +ev.
      He also loves to say "what bluffs do I have in this spot" all the time...but completely ignores the fact that he...and many other pros...have bluffed with complete air by just telling a story thousands of times. He loves to pretend he would never do that...but we've watched him do it in the paat.

    • @VanCough
      @VanCough ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I don't think he claimed it even implied he wouldn't have called. And he did preface that no one can blame Kenny from calling there. All he is trying to say is that if you really analyze DNeg's range and his tendencies here, they would point to him having you beat. But he's not claiming he would've been able to pull off this analysis on the spot (he only does so in retrospect)

    Glad to see this hand breakdown.
    I think 55, especially with 5s, is a hand you could show up with here. 5s excludes the straight flush and is more likely than 33 to call on the flop. Is it enough to call and risk busting out? Maybe not, but there's at least one plausible hand he can beat.

    • @soldiersofduck
      @soldiersofduck ปีที่แล้ว

      Does A3, 44, or nut flush ever call the 3bet jam (at a pro table, ofc)? How many combos of those does Bryn have that play like this? Difficult to say that 55 should be 3bet jam. I probably would at my table but that's not the same spot and I'm also bad.

    Once again, another fantastic and very insightful video to help me with my studies Professor Daniel! I must say, its funny to see Bryn Kenney's hand and vocal expressions when you put him all in, sensing that you could have him beat. I know very well I'd have difficulty laying down aces full considering how strong it is, despite it being the third nuts in this spot. That board had massive range advantage in your favor being the big blind, and I appreciate what you tell us that goes on in your mind. "9:90 to 1 shot" Absolutely incredible man. Really good point here about the game theoretic optimal algorithms sometimes spitting out a bad play that would be obviously bad to an observant human. In any spot, there is potentially way more information at play than simply how players have played their cards, which the algorithms don't yet account for.

    Thanks for another awesome video. Regarding the bots vs. humans, don’t you think that the bots would be able to start learning that “never bluff bob” never bluffs, and start to account for that in its calculation? Or do they not yet do that?

    i was in a similar hand in my home game this week; not quads but boat over boat. I knew I was beat and i still couldn't find a fold. After watching this, maybe next time I will.

    My favorite player catching that 3 on the river is awesome, but Daniel would have folded to an all in with trip 3s. Don’t believe me, go back and watch old school poker when Daniel was actually “kid poker” lol.

    I think the real question is why did Kenny make it 105? In so doing he eliminates bluffs from your 3 bet jam range does he not? If he makes it 60-70 and then you move in it’s different no? Or am I reading too much in to it?

    Can't a bot learn that no-bluff Bob doesn't bluff?

    • @Dylan-vm4gl
      @Dylan-vm4gl ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah I think a sophisticated ai of the future would plug in a zero-bluff range for Bob and output a fold

    • @d95mback
      @d95mback ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Of course it can, but that was not the question. The question was, would a GTO perfect bot outperform a human than adjusts?

    • @Bill_N_ATX
      @Bill_N_ATX ปีที่แล้ว +3

      An AI? Sure, but not a pure math bot. They just do the math. It’s the AI, that uses a learning neural network, that beats humans once it gets sufficiently trained. It knows the math and the human side. That’s what’s smoked humans in chess and go, the two most difficult board games. Humans have beat earlier AI but they are just too damned good now. Over time, they would beat even the best humans.

    • @Archtila
      @Archtila ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ofc it could. Its not "GTO" tho anymore if he start to adapt to players. Why? Cuz a good player could setup a AI by never bluff untill AI folds everytime and swich it up to bluff every hand and vice versa.

    Hello Daniel!
    I'd like to add a point about the Aces full not beating any value hand. You justify that you would not move all-in with 55 or any lesser full house. But given his play on the flop and turn, wouldn't it be likely for him to hold some slowplayed Kx of spades, that he would raise on the river trying to value your lesser flushes?
    In that case, wouldn't raising him, say with 55 and 44, be profitable, given how little he had left?
    Thanks for the content and I hope to read an answer, to learn ever more from you :)

  • @andreast2602
    @andreast2602 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hello Daniel. Big fan, nice breakdown! What could the opponent have done differently before river to get out of that situation? I mean, could a sizable 3-bet on the turn would have got you away? Is that a correct move, to get out opponents that might be looking for 4th spade, as their triple aces still lose to flush?

    • @buu88553
      @buu88553 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not here. Daniel could already have a straight on the flop, and even a flush by the turn. He had to try to minimise the pot and divine what Daniel actually has. Real question is the river, where both got the nuts.

    • @dnegspoker
      @dnegspoker  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      He did everything exactly right until the river after he raised and I went all in, as crazy as it seems, he can fold and be correct in the long run. I'm not bluffing here nearly enough to call
