    I like the fact that you are addressing people that are on a budget not everyone has a custom shop and a endless budget, I think that people who watch videos and shows like that are being misled into thinking that can't achieve their dream without tons of money. Thanks to guy's like you that show people what can be achieved with patience and perseverance.

      Ezekiel, thanks for your comment. That's what we are aiming for. Everybody has to start somewhere but it doesn't mean you can't have fun and educate yourself in the meantime. Also, a lot of people may never have that type of money but that doesn't mean you have to sit on the sideline and never get to play. We have customers with all types of budgets. Some come in and want us to do it all and can pay it all now. Some have already started and got to places they just don't have the knowledge or equipment to do specific jobs. Some have to get a little done at a time, Stop build up more money then come back when they can. It's like you said patience and perseverance.

      It took me a long time to come to that realization ,but on a more positive side of that I started getting better at fabrication. My wife had cancer so we didn't have a lot of extra money and at the time I had a 86 Bronco on 35's and she just loved going 4 wheeling so I was always modifying or fabricating something to keep it rolling. But that's what test are metal and pushes us on to persevere and to find a more satisfying Victory!

    I'm not going to try and restore mine, just want it to go and stop for now. Keeping the outside the same, rusty. Maybe a matte clear coat in the future. Right now I'm working in my front yard in the rocks. The video is in Homestead Florida where I bought it with a Arizona title. I spoke to the registered owner on the Az. title who told me he bought it from the original owner.
    It was sold and transported to Florida and stored inside a horse barn with two other trucks. These three trucks were going to be shipped to Puerto Rico. Those plans fell through and they were offered for sale. I went to buy the 1961 International Harvester Scout that was listed for sale. The Scout is also in really good shape.
    I ended up buying it and it's barn buddy the 1962 GMC. I got the Scout running but have more to do to get it roadworthy. I was told the GMC was a running truck and should not take much to get her started. It has the original 305 V6. Thanks for the video I'm trying to keep my budget low for now.
    If interested there is also a 1957 Chevrolet Stepside for sale where I bought mine.

      @@davidsonmotorsports9696 good morning so am ready to start on my budget build, unfortunately I am lost and need help. I have a 62 chevy c10 with a 292 inline 6. I really like what you did with your truck and would like to swap a motor like yours, I would really appreciate if you could send me a list of everything I need to make my truck run and sound like yours. Thank you! You did a great job!

    • @davidsonmotorsports9696
      @davidsonmotorsports9696  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jorgegalvan1765 First you need to take an assessment of the entire vehicle and see where to start. I would start with the chassis and do repairs there first. Next, make a list of everything you need Engine, transmission, fuel system, Brakes and etc. Make a realistic budget. Compare what you can afford to fix first but also keep in mind what you have coming down the line so you don't have to do things twice.

    Nice build! Really like the patina look. What fuel tank did you go with for the bed mount? I'm working on a '62 c10 myself, and looking to do the same, but have only found "63 and up rear mount fuel tanks.
