One of the key things that might be left out is walking. In America, we walk very, very little. We drive everywhere instead. We look at French girls or Europeans who eat well and can stay fit and wonder why we can't do that... It's because they're walking two or more hours nearly every day, and we don't even walk that much in a week. If you want an easy way to burn fat, get your steps in! I got a smartwatch and started tracking my steps and realized I needed to walk a lot more, and it's made all the difference.
This is so true. I started walking an hour daily a few months ago and I felt so healthy, less bloated, and lost some weight. I stopped recently and have never felt worse. I need to start again!

Yes 100%! I in fact lost some belly due to walking. Drinking a lot of water is also important.
This is true. My family live in the states i live in Europe and over here we walk and use the bicycle a lot
That is so true! A while back I was trying to lose weight and was doing a lot of hard exercise and dieting. I only lost a few pounds, not much at all. Then I got a different job that required a LOT of walking. I lost so much weight just from that!
I feel like I just listened to myself and I would enjoy having a friend that’s so relatable.

- I love my 8-10 hours of sleep.
- Fruits are my favorite
- Absolutely love reformer Pilates
- I need my sunlight. That’s why I live somewhere sunny
- Love dancing as a fun workout
- I’ve always listened to my body and eat when I’m hungry
- Was fortunate to have great parents that feed us lots of fruits and vegetables and never bought soda for the house.
- I am also wanting to start up practicing tennis again and try a new hobby like equestrian

I am very overweight. I have at least 80 pounds to lose. It feels daunting, but hopefully I can be slim again.
You can do it sweetie. Just be consistent with whatever you do, you'll get there eventually.

I completely agree, flat stomach is more about what you eat than what you do at the gym. That has been my experience. I noticed that whenever i eat moderately and healthy my tummy doesn't bloat or bulge for long hours and that has helped me in maintaining my figure.
I was 265 pounds currently 185 I intermittent fast never add sugar to anything cut dairy I have oat milk or almond in coffee majority veggies 🥗 salads cardio on a bike I have leveled up and look so different I care about myself more like hair skin getting ready everyday being more feminine. I noticed I get treated better have more opportunities just taking all the good things in. I’m a mom of 4 full and work full time ❤

100% relate to never buying alcohol. I remember one time we went to a punk concert, my friends ordered beer and other alcohol drinks and I asked for unsweeted blackberry juice [my ultimate favourite thing to drink]. The women at the bar looked so confused :D Because I am 20, but I look like I'm 14 + I didn't drink alco, so she probably thought "Why do they bring a child to a punk concert?!"
I think not drinking alcohol has a much larger impact on health and beauty than most people think. I only socially drink since I moved to London because it's a huge part of the culture. But before that I never used to drink and my skin was much healthier. Well, I don't drink enough to make a dent in my weight but too much alcohol definately bloats me. Anyway, great video Lisa
When i First tried Out intermittent fasting, i was Always hungry in the morning. I Heard that it is supposed to make you feel better but i never really felt Like it. Then i was in vacation for a week and stopped intermittent fasting. On vacay i felt so BLOATED and was hungry all the time, even though i had breakfast. So it actually works, i Just did Not realice it at first
I too am a taurus woman. That’s funny you say that because it’s so true when it comes to food. I am very picky yet. It’s a very sensual thing to enjoy.
As a mom of 4 I agree with EVERYTHING your saying! Especially sleep 💤, that’s the one thing I’m LACKING and it shows😢 I always tell my husband I need more then him🤣

Thank you for sharing this tip regarding sleeping. I noticed last few years that influencers were more and more spreading 'trend' of waking up at 5am and spreading that toxic trait that we should feel guilty if we are not productive all the time.. where in fact we should embrace sleeping
The 5am fad started with men then went to women. If I wake up at 5am I need a nap by 10am lol. I definitely need my sleep.
I definitely need my sleep. I’m a night owl, always have been, if I wake up at 5am i need a nap by 10, and I was probably so tired between those hours that I barely got anything done anyway
Thank you for sharing your health tips. I'm actually struggling with getting back on a healthy routine. I love eating a lot of unhealthy food unfortunately and I recently gained about 14lbs and I really look forward to getting back on track not just for the look but definitely want to feel better.😌

I just drink water, no other beverages.
I have salads for dinner and eat both fresh and dried fruits for fiber
I have butternut squash roasted in spices
I do have ONE!!! one serving of dark chocolate for the antioxidants and positive mental health effects
I don't drink alcohol
I NEVER eat fast food and try to avoid restaurants as much as possible
I prepare my own food and I don't have a lot of bread either, maybe once a month and it's sourdough
I need breakfast to start up my metabolism and regulate my body because I have digestive issues
I don't eat meat just because I don't like the taste/texture
I have nonfat Greek yogurt for protein and also one cup of 2% lowfat milk and it helped my curves regrow and it did a lot for my skin
(also I take womens multivitamins, vitamin c, turmeric + ginger gummies and vegan sugar free probiotics)
I'm 5'0" and 95 lbs. I used to be underweight because I didn't have enough calories or protein due to ED but these last few months I got healthy again.
I do pilates for 40 minutes every morning and 60 on my days off
YESSS intermittent fasting is sooo good! I've been doing it on and off for a while and it is super effective!

I avoid sugary foods and drinks. They actually increase your hunger like alcohol 🍷. The only sweet things I like are fruits 🍉 like grapefruits, raspberries and dark chocolates about 85% cocoa. My diet is high protein, very low carbs, minimal snacking, intermittent fasting. Plus regular exercise

I remember an older woman I was with say to someone offering a dessert, "no thank you, I have to eat like a lady today..." and it stuck with me ever since. What does a lady eat? HOW does she eat? These were things never taught to me so that response 20 years later stays with me. If everyone or in your community is heavier or unhealthy you need to do the opposite to get the results (consult with your dietitian of course!) But I got the best results with managing my portions, eating whole foods and movement! Eat like a lady, don't wait till you're famished to shovel food in your body. 💋

Can you make a video or a series about healthy recipes you cook and eat to stay fit? Like some of the salads etc you eat? I saw a vlog of you showing food you make and it looks good I would love to be able to recreate some of the meals if possible. You have a good relationship with food and I think learning about healthy and delicious tasting recipes from you can help us all on our journeys of health wellness and our relationships with food too. Thank you for sharing all your advice and helping us throughout the years with all your tips on fashion, femininity and food/fitness as well.
I have always loved dancing! It's fun and amazing exercise. I love belly dance too and this and deep stretch routines are what I focus on most. For food, I began eating carnivore style some months ago and I can tell you meat is one of the best food our bodies can have nutrient wise.
For those who are unfamiliar, carnivore is basically all animal products: meat, seafood, dairy, eggs, butter etc. In the first 3-4 months of doing this I dropped 20lbs effortlessly, meaning without consistent exercise, and I had increased energy and zero bloat. I also never felt hungry between meals. It's quite life changing, at least for me. I highly recommend it to anyone trying to drop weight and feel better overall. And it's not a diet btw, I also don't believe in dieting. It's a lifestyle shift and it's so worth it.

Hey Lisa, your whole speech about eating could be my words 😉 Wish I had that knowledge when I was young. I grew up very healthy in Germany and always liked vegetables more than any kind of cake or so. Very unusual for a child. As a teenager I sadly lived a lot by Coca Cola, Pizza and stuff like that cause my friends did that. Then, when I became a mother I turned back to health again, but with too much meat I think. But at that time I thought it would be good for my children. But overall we lived very healthy. And now that I'm old I live as you said even more healthy and very picky cause I believe in it. It is sooo important and my body is always craving for the good stuff😊 Sometimes also for the bad and I am not as disciplined as you so sometimes I cheat😉I also do intermittend fasting since a couple of years now. It feels very natural to me, although I don't sleep that much as you, mostly only 4 to 5 hours. But I'm not hungry till noon. And also like you I don't believe in any kind of diet.

In my country we don’t have many places to walk like in some other country. But what I personally do is intermediate fasting (I don’t like eating after 6pm and if I do I don’t eat breakfast) lot of water, I try to walk as much as possible. I’m not skinny but I do maintain my weight and avoid over eating.

Yes yes yes about cooking from scratch, at home , using real ingredients!!! So true
My routine is to do classical ballet, Pilates, and dance videos at home five days a week at 45 to 60 minutes. I use the Lumen device and the Withings Scale which does a full body composition, but it’s very expensive. I also have a medical condition so I have been fine-tuning my diet for five years now. I try to do the TB12 diet as much as I can, but it is a slow process to start changing your diet. It’s a trial and error in the body.

I do enjoy eating healthy and fasting too. I find sugar to be a weak point and have to try very hard to abstain. It doesn’t help that there is not much to do around town but eat, drink and get dessert. Do you find that your healthy eating habits affect your friendships? I worry sometimes that having limitations will bother my friends (one has wine addiction and the other has sugar addiction)

I've never been one for sodas, but I love the fizz, so I drank them occasionally. But once I discovered La Croix drinks that's all I want. No sugar, but great taste. I find myself not liking sugar as much as I did before. And I avoid corn syrup like the plague now.

I am like you too. I don’t eat very healthy food all the time. I eat what I want but if I do not feel like eating dinner I don’t. I eat lunch as my main meal and dinner is very small for me unless I am very hungry. I love chocolate cake too. Like the bill naps cake.
I don’t know that you would like it but I make cocktails from ritual zero alcohol gin. I make it if I want a cocktail and I drink kombucha at social gatherings as a cocktail. I also track my cals if I feel like it and I don’t if I don’t feel like it. I think keeping your Cala just a little low helps you stay slim. I also sleep a lot
