Thanks Carol!😊😎 Lucy has to run up trees right and left every time we go on walks Lol, she’s pretty good tree climber, didn’t think she was ever gonna come down from that one 😄
I could tell right from the beginning that was going to be a beautiful piece if you cold hold it together and it doesn't disappoint! Nice job keeping it together, Kimsey! Those bark inclusions looked a little iffy. The CA and coffee grounds did the trick. Just a really great turning and bowl! Enjoyed seeing you two working together at the end, too! Plus, you have a cat that ain't afraid of anything! 😃 Phil
Thanks Phil!😊😎 it felt a little bit iffy to 😄but I had high hopes for it and was keeping my fingers crossed 🤞, I turned another one from that same stuff a little smaller and it did break apart when I was just touching the rim up a bit, it slung around quarter of a piece of it off 😞 Ca glued it right back on though😎 Lucy is a pretty good tree climber Lol She has to run up trees ever time we go walking! Glad ya enjoyed the video Buddy, Hope you’re having a great weekend and wishing you the very best, Take care 🤝
Love your work kimsey bloody Butey, contrast between white oak burl and the black rim and coffee grounds just makes P0P Keep the dream alive. Ernie smith from brisbane Australia
That came out AWESOME!!! Hard to beat burl wood I love the grains in all of them! I like your lathe you don't have to reach out in front of it to turn it on and off! I moved my switch to the tail stock end for safety reasons!👍
Thanks Jon!😊😎 Was some pretty cool grain, and yep it’s definitely a good safety feature to have the switch not having to reach in front of the turning piece, Take care buddy Hope you have a great weekend 🤝
Gorgeous! Excellent grain and figure, a pleasing shape and a great finish! It's finally starting to warm up here-- I'll be back in the shop soon, makin' shavings of my own again!
Thanks Dave!😎 That’s Great News Happy turning! It’s pretty warm here but I think things are about to change I heard from someone 😞 But maybe 🤔 we will get at least one good snow I hope anyway if we get anymore cold weather, it’s like spring time now here and stuff is starting to bloom earliest I ever saw before.
Thanks Lee! that stuff is pretty cracky stuff, i turned a smaller piece of that stuff the other day and was almost finished with it and about a quarter of it flew off but i was able to glue it back thankfully 😎
I turned a smaller one out of that same stuff the other day and i was just going to touch the rim up a little bit and a quarter of the rim of that one popped off and slung it, scared me pretty good 😄, I was able to glue it back together thankfully 😎
Amazing Kimsey... I always love the "character" markings (cracks) in the wood...makes each piece even more individual... can't wait to see what you create next 😁💙
I’ve noticed you’ve taken over your wifes lathe. Is it better than yours? Anyway that bowl reminded me of looking at a car wreck when it happened and then saw what great work the body shop can do. You pulled out a miracle. Greeeat!
Hey Kimsey good to see you - it's been a while but glad you're back! I really like this piece of Oak there's so much character to it and you made a lovely job of turning it. Do you have any plans for your next movie? I still haven't got turning the Malee burl yet but I did turn a smaller piece of the same tree it came out really pretty. Anyway, all the best - take it easy!
Howdy Paul! Glad ya like it😎, maybe you will get to work on it before to long, Would love to have seen the one ya turned, I am working on some Black Walnut next one, some neighbors have a pretty big old walnut tree that has been blown down for quite a few years, the tree looks rotten but has some nice wood in it, probably the hardest walnut I’ve ever turned I’ve had to sharpen and sharpen and sharpen, dulling my chisels so quick, hopefully have another video ready in another week or so All the best to you to buddy, take care 🤝
@@kimseyjustkimsey5256 yeah it was pretty cool! I put a short on for ya, here it is th-cam.com/users/shortsOvuS9zaIQlg?feature=share Looking forward to seeing this Black Walnut getting turned! Take care Kimsey, happy turnin!

Thanks Bruce!😎
That burl was certainly worth saving! 😎

Beautiful Kimsey, love it brother!👍🏻👍🏻

That's a beauty thought at one point it was going to pop, but you was in charge to the end.
I turned a smaller one out of that same stuff the other day and i was just going to touch the rim up a little bit and a quarter of the rim of that one popped off and slung it, scared me pretty good 😄, I was able to glue it back together thankfully 😎
Another brave turn Kimsey and the outcome was great. You took a big risk with the recess but it was the right move
Glad you like it Stephen 😎
It was a little bit like skating on thin ice with the recess, i like the recess to get more depth in the bowl.

Thanks Heather It does add some character to em for sure, Black Walnut coming up next 😎, hopefully have another video ready in a week or so!
Lovely piece Kimsey!
Thanks buddy I appreciate it 😊😎
Great job Kimsey!
Thanks Buddy!😎😊
Yep it didn’t look to promising to me with all the bark inclusion but I love it it sure took some soft cutting in but it’s beautiful
Thanks buddy glad ya like it 😎
Looks good.
