I have, I believe, 11 different turning channels that I subscribe to and yours is the most educational and informative. Thank you, Phil. Again, a joy to watch you enjoy your hobby.😊
Mr Phil is my favorite wood turner on TH-cam, without a doubt. I love his style. I love how he loves the nature of the wood he's working with. I love how he keeps you well informed of his intentions and how he goes about his creative process. I also simply enjoy his demeanor and his attitude. He makes you feel like you're right there with him, kinda standing next to your grandpa in his workshop when you were a child, watching, listening and learning. That's what brings me back to his channel.
Remember when you had to go out and look for wood? Preaching to the choir here about changing the band saw blade. If you are pushing it at all, the blade needs changing.
Thank You Phil, Thank You Rick Chapman... That English Walnut looks like it turns nice and easy ? That bark seems to really stick. Another very nice picture perfect turning... I love that thick bark! Until next time Phil.... TM
Another lovely piece Mr Anderson and you make the turning of it look so effortless (I wish I was half as skilled) and you do indeed have a beautiful bottom. 😉 Jane ❤
Bonsoir Phil ! Encore une très belle réalisation ! Ce pivert à une "perceuse " très régulière, plus alignée que la scie à ruban ... ! C'est en tout cas un très joli récipient ! Cordialement, Prenez soin de vous ! Jean-Luc
Very timely Phil. The tree fell after a high wind storm in 2020. The wonderful lady who owned it called me and offered it to me. It was a very special gift. She passed away a couple of weeks ago and now it is even more special. Thank you sir you gave it new life.
My sister is 88 today, and has been throwing for many years , saw her yesterday and she showed me a piece that she just finished ,that she learned from you ,with much of the bark showing. It is so lovely.
Thank you, Rick. 10:55, 11:59. Snort! 🤪 The “spirit of the bowl” face in the bottom (yes, that bottom) does not look very happy. Perhaps it was in winter hibernation and you disturbed it? Guess it just needs some of Gord’s Smarties to stave off its winter hunger (and a warm spot in the house)!
Love the woodpecker holes, wonder why he gave up, really like the walnut beautiful finish. Wish my sand o flex would hurry up and get here, my flappy hand held method hurts sometimes. All the best from Spain Phil, regards Colin
That is a totally magnificent piece, Phil. Really like that my friend. Finish on that piece is absolutely perfect. But then, that’s what we’ve come to expect of you, my friend. Well done once again. Thanks for sharing! Happy turning, …..Gord
Glad you enjoyed it, Gord. 😊 It was smaller than it should have been because of those errant bandsaw cuts but it turned our pretty well, anyway. Made a few cuts on the bandsaw since and am sooo glad I changed the blade! 😊
Ooh delicious walnut, always reminds me of silky toffee. Beautiful turning Phil, I love hearing you think your way through the process. Insightful, bless you, thank you so much.👍🙏☺️ "Not that bottom, this bottom!" ...ooh matron!! 😄
Good morning, Phil. The bark on this piece of English Walnut stayed very tight and looks amazing next to the wood when finished. Your bandsaw story is very familiar. Who wants to change the blade anyway? Surely it will make one more cut. Very nice live edge bowl.
Hahaha, so true, Ray! On my saw, it's really easy to change the blade. It's all the cleaning that has to be done first that keeps me putting it off. Now, I'm so glad it's done! 😊
I watched a guy turn a wing bowl just like yours. I was yelling at the guy please don’t turn the live edge away but he didn’t hear me. He turned it away ☹️. I love this bowl you have turned. I noticed the grain is very nice on the inside of the bowl. As always Phil another lovely turning. Thanks for the show. Joel
