Of all the sub 4 high schoolers this year, he just seems so cool, like a free spirit.

So glad he finally broke that 4 minute barrier. What an accomplishment. He's tried so many times and now he joins the elite HS sub 4 club. Congrats Rheinhardt, your a super star.
And he just about negative/even split the 2nd 800 as well. This kid's the future. Very mature way to break 4 for the first time.

He runs so efficiently and seems absolutely suited for the mile.
Outstanding! Had he been in the Bowerman with Colin they both would have run 3:56 - 3:57. He has incredible potential to carve seconds off that time in the right race.
Keep the mile! Breaking 4 mins is a great and exciting and important milestone on the way -hopefully - to greater things.

Amazing. Congrats. And even more amazing is next year at Newbury Park high school in California this would probably make him the 4th best miler on their boys team. I’m not saying Reinhardt would be 4th, but that this time might be 4th for that team next year.

This looks like a 1600m, not a mile. He has to finish 9m past the start line. Is the track 402m? Do the cones on the turns ensure he runs the extra 9m?
Edit: this track is a 440yd track, not a 400m track. full mile for Rheinhardt! Congrats!

2nd place guy ran 4:11... crazy stuff man. That time would have won almost every state meet and/or invitationals besides California and Oregon. Congrats to Rheinhardt Harrison on breaking 4! Can't wait to see what more exciting things he accomplishes.

Gary Martin would’ve even beat Harrison as well. 4:11 is great but not elite. Would’ve been around 5th in PA state meet
4:11 would win plenty states and a lot of classifications. The dude who came in second literally was the Florida 4A 1600 state champ, which is Florida’s biggest classification, and his time would’ve won 1A, 2A, and 3A as well. 4:11 would win 90 percent of lower classifications in basically every state, and would win a big chunk of the large classifications in every state as well. I would also still consider 4:11 to be elite as well. There are people who are better, and some who are much better like Rheinhardt Harrison and Gary Martin, but it’s still an elite time that not many high schoolers even come close to
@@goofygoober7617 converting to 1600 m it’s a 4:09 which would’ve gotten him 3rd cleanly, with one of the guys who beat him being an obvious outlier in Gary Martin

I don’t know if the track is longer than a normal track, but it seems that he ran exactly 4 laps which would usually be 1600m. Does anyone know what’s going on with that?

That was the first thing I thought about when I saw the start of the race. I didn’t think that non-dirt 440 yard track still existed. That was one smooth effort though.

I was thinking the same, it looks like they ran 1600 with where they started. On my track you start behind the numbers for full mile. I’m sure they did it right but I noticed too
