    Nice to have a wiring diagram when you need it. Just need to be careful when you keep connecting and disconnecting the ground connector under load. All those electronics in the circuit are surging power looking for a ground path.

    Damn weak ground points strike again. Great job figuring out the problem.

    My Ranger had developed some issues that I figured out. The first was headlights flickering along with the alternator needle pulsating. I discovered that I could wiggle the wires on the alternator connectors and it would stop. But lately the ABS light would come on for no reason. Again I could wiggle the wires on the ABS switch (located on the master cylinder reservois) and it would clear it. The problem appears to be the pins becoming intermittent in the connectors over time. These pins are crimped on at the factory and they should have been soldered.

    thanks for the video my neighbor is having similar issues- gonna diagnose between bad grounds or faulty combination switch

    When you have multiple electrical faults at the same time, such as this, it usually points to a ground issue, as many different circuits share the same ground. If its one single fault its a component in that one circuit.

    I am having the same problem with cluster lights and running lights. Sometimes they work and other time nothing. Have checked all fuses.

    Nice, job! Have a 2007 i have electric issues with doors ajar light comes on, parking lights will flash, and horn goes off too, plus dome lights turn on while baking up and tapping the brakes. I literally have been driving with out horn, as I pulled the fuel. Replaced all door latch sensors , hood latch sensors. Ford was not able to help. I will try the grounding contact from your video. Thanks

    I have a 2009 Mercury Mariner hybrid (33,000 miles) that has some electrical issues. It started with the flashers turning on by themselves, which ran the battery down. It flashes for about 34 seconds then stops for a while then starts back up. Lately, there's a problem with the headlights not working, the blue high beam light shows up on the instrument panel and won't shut off. I checked the fuses and bulbs and they're fine and I don't see any corrosion. I replaced the light switch and that helped but the low beams still don't seem to come on. The owner's manual says nothing about a flasher relay. Perhaps it's a ground issue but I didn't have any work done on the car before the electrical issues showed up. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Given the symptoms, I was thinking either a BCM or ground. Not a fuse this time LOL

    Have a 2005 Ford Escape XLT (oddly enough the same color also) and my instrument cluster problem is the lights indicating that I have an open door will not turn off when all the doors and the rear hatch and glass are closed. Everything else works as it should.

    I have a 2008 Escape with the Gen1 3.0 Duratec V6 engine and I have two random electrical problems:
    1. Very occasionally - about once or twice a year - the dash lights will not come on when I turn the ignition key to the ON position. Nothing happens anywhere. Completely dead. Thanks to one of the forums, I found that a thump on top of the dash with my first will turn everything back on. Weird and nobody on the forums knows the cause. .
    2. My fuel gauge has a mind of its own. Sometimes it works and when It does, it shows random levels. I've replaced the fuel filter, fuel pump and housing and had a professional garage check the wiring. No cause detected. I just set my Tripmeter A to ZERO when I fill the tank and then refill at 200 miles.
    Any ideas on these issues?

    Hi! Hope you will read this comment. I have this problem in our ford escape 2006 that whenever we open the driver's seat, the alarm goes off and it takes time to turn it off. We press the unlock button in the key and after a couple of times pressing it, it stops. So how do you stop the alarm right away?

    • @lloydbrokeit3138
      @lloydbrokeit3138  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can stop it right away by putting a key in the door switch.
      To disable the alarm you can unplug the factory hood switch.
      Hope that helps!

Nothing on the dash would work nothing electrical would work. wires and fuses all look good had to change one 20 amp fuse for the cigar lighter. but i just don't know. thinking it is the g6 and g7 relay but no idea. the battery will charge. i have no codes showing anything. Any clues?

    Question for you I know this is not this issue but I have a 2005 Ford Escape. Sometimes my radio will turn on by itself after the car is off for a while. If I pull the radio fuse the radio will not turn off. The only way I can turn the radio off is the instrument cluster fuse if this happens. I was thinking it's a grounding issue myself but have you ever encountered this issue on these Ford escapes?

    Where did you get your schematics. My 2005 is draining the battery. If I remove the Horn/CHML/Lock/Power seat fuse from under the hood it doesn’t drain it. I’ve disconnected the locks and it still does it. Car doesn’t have heated seats and the horn and brake lights work properly. I need a wiring schematic now I believe.

    • @outofround
      @outofround 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The regulator is in the alternator. The alternator is on the bottom and likely your wiring is corroded. You can remove the regulator (and brushes ) from the back of the alternator. First thing I'd do is remove all the connectors and spray them with electrical contact cleaner and then re-assemble.

    I have a 2003 Escape with problems that has my mechanic stumped. My headlights pick and choose when they want to work (they go from looking complete dead to being as bright as a new bulb), my sunroof controls don't always respond, and this past winter, it wouldn't start up again if I was running 10 minute or so errands (if less than 10 minutes or an hour+ it would restart just fine) and got battery and alternator replaced. The electrical stuff seems to happen when I have less than a third of a tank of gas and my AC or heat are on. Think the root of my car's issues could be the same as the one in the video?

  • @EscapeXLT
    @EscapeXLT 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Jajaja.... En la 2001 lleva una caja de fusibles de ese lado y a veces se humedece (ha de tener alguna ventilación cerca) y suceden cosas similares (se enciende la radio sola, luces, etc).

    • @lloydbrokeit3138
      @lloydbrokeit3138  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Battery drains are tough. Something isn't letting the car goto sleep. I have seen door and hood switches cause that problem. as for the noise under the brake cylinder I'm not sure.

    • @entertainmentforyou6677
      @entertainmentforyou6677 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @joshuahensley7893 yes sounds like the same problem and I talked to a mechanic and he told me many reasons it can be! He told me it would of cost $300 or so to just look at it! So I just went and bought a brand new battery and put it in and it fix the problem! Auto zone said the battery was no good! The battery was $110.00! I'm so happy it was a easy fix! Hope this works for you as well!

    • @entertainmentforyou6677
      @entertainmentforyou6677 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @joshuahensley7893 yes I was driving on the highway after dark and all the power went out except for the head lights and the battery light! The engine kept running and I drove it home it ran like that for 20 minutes! Then when I parked the car and shut it off I turned the key and all the interior lights and everything turned on but as soon as the engine turned on all the lights etc turned off! Every problem you having is the same I had! Alot of people plus the mechanic said it was probably the alternator or wiring issue! But the brand new battery fixed it!
