    45 years a go, Japanese manufacturers/riders made a answer (750 is best balance on the street)
    It is unchanged as of today.

      That’s not why. Harley Davidson cried to daddy Raegan because they were getting spanked by Japanese manufacturers. Instead of forcing HD to compete, Raegan placed a nearly 50% tariff on imported bikes over 750cc to protect HD’s core market. Problem is, the Japanese manufacturers just made those

    "What is a 750?" In my honest opinion and assessment; it is the "Goldilocks" zone for motorcycles.
    Just as nimble and flickable as a 600, more useable on the streets than a 1000; still has more than enough beans to scare the stupid out of you, but won't leave you wanting for sauce either.
    The GSX-R 750 is THE BIKE that "started it all" for modern "crotch rockets", whatever super sport street bike you own/love/ride...you owe a debt of gratitude to the GSX-R 750. All the insanity and ridiculous horsepower and otherworldly chassis wouldn't be where they are today without it. Like em, love em, take em or leave em....the Gixxer is the reason all other super sports exist.
    Back in the day 750cc was the most predominant displacement class in sport bike racing (bit of a different animal than the Moto-GP we know and love today).

    Yeah, the 16 gsxr1000 is very comfortable. I can ride it all day and not feel it. I had the R1 prior to it and that thing felt like torture after 45 minutes. Don't lane split, assume everyone is trying to hit you, wear your gear, stay sober, don't let bad drivers get you upset/emotional and you'll increase your odds of staying alive.

    i have to disagree, i have owned all 3 600,750 and 1000. i have returned to riding after a 12yr break and my choice was the 750. faster than all 600s, more flick able than any 1000 and comfortable to ride. Personally i dont like liter bikes for the road but thats just me.

      Love it when ppl make up some bs just to have an opinion on the matter. It doesn’t matter wtf you buy theyr dimensionally literally like 1” different in height and length and width. About 15lbs diffent total from 600 to 1000. So buy the 1000 then just say “im just learning to ride” or “im not good in the corners” rather than make excuses why why you suck at riding rather than justify why you are smart or responsible. Keep the thing in the lowest power setting if you are worried about “killing yourself on a one thousand”. It’s like a v6 Camaro because the “insurance is ridiculous on an ss” or because the “dude the v6 is still quick as $hit” nobody cares you lost us at no its a v6. So dont start spouting bs like the 10$ per fill up is gonna break you when you just bought a 30K car or its lighter and more nimble in and out of traffic or im short so i can reach the pedals easier in the v6 its all just garbage. If you like the taste of Diet Coke over regular than by all means but your logic is flawed if you get fries and a double cheeseburger and then go Diet for health reasons maybe just buy a maxima and eat a salad. Buy a 650 touring bike then ride through town with your feet on the rear passenger pegs when your friends see you so they’ll think its “one of those fast ones you lay down to ride” the ones you feel the need to explain you justification for buying a 750 to aren’t buying it. The rotating mass of the litter compared to 600 to somebody that can’t ride isn’t a factor. The 750 is not a touring bike. The 6 and 750 ar both more exhausting to ride around town because the nearly non existent low end torque Especially in the around town range makes them feel extremely sluggish and lethargic compared to the 1000. That’s probably the most looked over difference of the 3. Im 6th gear at 55 I don’t have to shift down to eat a car it just grunts and moves.

      Yea i was on one the day i posted that. I had all three and there all a blast no doubt all you need on the street but the grunt of the 1000 is on another level only 1/4 more cc but feels like about 3/4 more powerful on the bottom end the timing at low revs is retarded from factory in the first few gears so mine was mapped with a pc filter and pipe and for wat it was worth hotter plugs. It was unnecessary but i would buy 5 gallons of 110 and add a half gallon per fill up just for the smell

    What do you think about the Kawasaki Z900 vs the Yamaha FZ-09 ? I'm thinking about adding a bike to the garage with similar power. But more upright for longer trips. I've also been thinking about a Honda VFR 750/800 or possibly

  • @Rawdawg321
    @Rawdawg321 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    In my opinion they all feel the same until you get on the gas. Weight difference is not that much. 1000’s are super easy to wheelie. 600’s and 750’s you have to bounce it and clutch it at the same time to bring it up. It comes down to do you want a civic or a corvette. Street driving 1000 is the way to go. You don’t always have to down shift to pass or to merge on the freeway. Has good power when you have a passenger. 600’s save gas and are fun in the canyons. I stopped riding though because people really don’t care about others on the road. They’re too consumed by Instagram than eyes on the road.

    Sportbikes: 1000 (lots of torque but too much for the twisties), 600 (great for twisties but down on torque), 750 (good compromise between the two). Also, since the usable rev range of a 600 is so wide, the power delivery is more gradual and linear. The 1000 has a narrower rev range so the power comes on more abruptly. Again the 750 is a good compromise between the two. Many people have 1000s, many people have 600s, few people have 750s. The insurance on a 750 is likely lower than on a 1000. The weight of a 750 is very close to that of a 600 but substantially less than that of a 1000. The cost of a good used 750 is usually about $1000 to $2000 lower than that of a good used 1000.
    6 good reasons to get a 750.

    I thought the point of 750 over 600 was the extra low-end torque which is nice for daily riding (without adding the +40 lbs of a liter bike). I got the Triumph 765 for even more low-end torque from the triple arrangement, again with no care about the top end ... it's way too fast for this weekend warrior already. Gixxer 750 is a beauty though!

Honda made VFR 750's starting in the 80's with the Interceptor (V4 though) followed by the sport touring VFR. Kawasaki made a ZX-7E, ZX-7R, & ZX-7RR....but the original was the GSX-R 750 from the early 80's. All great bikes! My heart though skips a beat for my Gixxer 750!

Bigger pistons, raised compression and steep sprockets for drag racing. -1 +4, ecu flash header etc.. My 750 hAs shit on every year and make 600, 636, and zx750. Sorry but the difference in power between a 750 and a 600 is def not the case of some mild mods to a 600. That kinda talk may impress some squids but not those who have owned both. Maybe if you actually did some track work on both instead of just popping the wheel up on some straight road every now and then
    you'd understand.

    • @Carlos-nr3rt
      @Carlos-nr3rt 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      True there is like a 25Hp difference so just changing the exhaust is not going to get that and since when did changing a sprocket give you more power ? more torque on the 750 as well. They make both for a reason.

    The power to weight ratio on the 750 is much better than the 600. it is a 600 frame and running gear with a 750cc motor in it. if you spend the money and mod it correctly you are going to be moving right there with the liter bike's. If you know how to ride you'll be eating up the liter bike's.

    • @mistergsxr465

      @bigdee140 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i thought this video was really annoying. the fact he compared modding a 600cc to a stock 750 was stupid. if you do the same stuff to the 750 guesss what... you got a liter bike than a 1k and close to the same speed... after doing lots and lots of research im fully convinced to get a GSX-R, ive always been a Honda guy but the new gsxr 1k is supposed to be even better than the first gen BMW 1000rr, thats an amazing accomplishment, its based on opinion but of riders i trust (44 teeth did an episode on it)
      only thing to wonder about is if i want a 1000 or the 750. i kinda just love the 750, its got so much heritage and its the perfect mix imo, its not overbearing on power or too heavy and it can be pushed without having to wring it out to redline. that to me makes it the best choice for a street bike.

    HI had the 750 K2 , read about a od where you could get the gsxr 1000 k3 titanium exhaust and fit it to the k2 with a few spacers on the fairings , i had a K&N filer with , power commander and straight through suzuki tl1000 carbon end can sounded mint and growled at ya. it mad 126 on the dyno and my mates r1 made 131 . the dyno guy was impressed with my results he said for a 750 that's got a lot of power , none of my friends could keep up two up with me on the r1s and cbr 1000's when the playing field was leveled with passengers. goes to show good bike with a good rider can beat most other bikes on the road if ridden properly to its potential . I was all weather rider work and leasure biker my only transport rain snow or sunshine, my friends where all sunny weekend riders and dint go out with partner al the time like i did on the back with me but when they took their partners out i made sure the gixxer came o0ut on top , not even taking risks just good safe fast road riding maybe 70-90% .
    my advice to anyone who wants to ride and stay alive is to get a gixxer 750 best of both worlds and can be tuned to give an extra 10 15 at the wheel especially with the 1000 headers give it more room to scream and breath more, and i did screem there was only one other bike comparable to my bike for exhaust sound and loudness and it was a Kawasaki 1300 or 1400 sports bike made to compete with the Hayabusa . this was 20 years ago i had the k2 from 2004 ish for roughly 5-6 years and never felt the need to go higher it was everything in a bike you could ask for, and a forgiving bike.

      My K6 750 and K5 1000 differed 3kg dry and 9kg wet
      Now, the biggest difference: My K6 was no slouch, but most of it is top end power, the 1000 otoh is power the moment the clutch is fully engaged
      The handling characteristics between the 2 are the same, but it's the power characteristics which are worlds apart
      And this coming from a guy who rode the K6 12.5 years
      All this might be different (or better said: more equal) with newer bikes, thanks to their advanced FI and driver AIDS (Pun intended)

      phatrides222000 750 is my fav bike. Im usually at the front of the pack even with liter bikes. They do pull away from me a little on the highway but to be honest 95% at those speeds all you need to do is keep that wrist twisted I guaranteed you the guy on the 1000 will let off before hes 50ft ahead of you. You will never fall behind. Also the 750 handles great in the twisties. In my opinion it corners better the a 1000 but that might just be because Im pretty light at 155lbs. I wouldnt trade my 750 for anything other then a new 750

      750 is the best of both worlds... handles as well as a 600 but has more usable power and can scare a little bike in the right hands. I was riding the track with a buddy on an rsv4 at the weekend and I consistently overtook him on the straights cause I could carry more corner speed and get on the gas earlier on exit. Its the best balance of power and speed and handling for 99% of the riders out there... Had a few, as well as many literbikes... And while the 1000's are certainly an adrenaline rush, they aren't any faster other than outright top speed runs on the interstate... Anywhere else, on the twisty roads around where I live, all that power is more of a liability than an asset.
    And if you are a good rider... the 750 is nearly as potent... Like 10 years ago I was watching Chris "Opie" Caylor racing his 750 in the 1,000 class in WERA at Road Atlanta... and getting on the podium...
    Modern 1000's have come a long way since then, but for street and occasional track days, the 750 is perfect...
