I met a poor girl in 1973 in Cebu at a university. Most beautiful woman I ever saw. married her a year later and we have been together 44 yrs. Two sons. Most devoted wife, mother and friend ever born. Yes, you get the family. They ARE all about family, yours and hers. Put 7 thru university, they are successful now and am now called "Uncle Steve"..an honor. I love the Philippines "Tito Steve"
Met my Filipina wife in Sept of 73 and married her in Feb 1974. We have three wonderful kids and a pot full of grandkids. Yes, a devoted wife, mother and friend. Never had a family problem except my mother-in-law still hasn't forgiven me for taking her baby away from her. :-)
I married a Filipino she’s the best thing that ever happened to me I have 5 beautiful children 18 grandchildren and one ☝️ great granddaughter and I love 💕 living in the Philippines 🇵🇭 but he’s right be careful there
I have been going here since 1989 and retired here in 2010... Live VERY WELL on my USA Social Security of $742,50 each month and still have money at the end of the month.. And I do not live in a shack...3 bedroom cement house western style and high end wood work and tiles,,,YES IT CAN BE DONE... If your not trying to be a BIG SHOT !!!!
Well I think it all depend in wich province are you living ..and if you rent furniture or Un furniture .I know some people yes they live with almoust same amount B ut in the Bohol area yn the country farms ,,I believe rents are going really up in all Philippines ..Still food is super cheep ..But I pass the line of 1000k us every month ..Thanks
JOE , I GUESS YOU ARE VERY HEALTHY AND NEVER NEED TO SEE A DOCTOR AND NO MEDICINE ?? THAT IS WHY I STAY LIVING IN CALIFORNIA BECAUSE ALL THOSE ARE FREE FOR ME BECAUSE I GET ONLY $900 FROM SOCIAL SECURITY
Jospeh, its best you admit at once that you made some higher initial investments to end up with so low monthly expenses, its different for someone who isnt established yet, and with such a low monthly amount from day 1 chances are they will never be fully established and can never start living cheap. I got an american friend who retired in PH, he got 2,000 monthly pension but his filipna wife and their 2 kids make sure they are always broke, its a trap to many foreigners fall into, sending kids to private schools and letting the family have expensive habits, 2000 is nowhere near enough for such a lifestyle. 4,000 is a nice amount to spend per month, 742.50 barely covers a 2 night stay at a luxury hotel in Angeles, which says a lot about your definition of "VERY WELL". Met an old guy who had a pension of 6,000 dollars monthly and just wow, i had some pretty awesome girlfriends in PH myself but his was better, and more than 3x younger than him. So 6,000 is a good goal =)
@@samaldini to buy property In the Philippines you have to marry a Filipino with the exception being a condo which you can buy. If you are married the Filipino owns 51% of the property. As for moving stuff over, I've heard of one or two people using a c can but most people just buy what they need there as it's much less of a headache and usually much cheaper.
Philippines have not had a great history in picking government or at least ones that don't turn into dictatorships, dictatorships don't like foreign nationals complaining
Bravo! Great job, I have lived here in Metro Manila for going on 10 years now, married to an exceptionally wonderful Filipina, and her pamilya! We live simple, respectful lives, and the advice given in this video is truly solid gold common sense! Guys, just be yourself, be honest, open to new ideas, and respectful of the people, culture and country. As expats, we are representatives of our home countries, if one acts badly, it reflect on all of us!
I have my resident visa and can stay in PI for as long as I want, no marriage or other obligation. My observation so far is that PI is a valid SEA retirement option if you have common sense and not an alcoholic that just sits at the bar all day. The main thing is that you have some income from outside the country as a pension or dividend that pays the basics (rent, food etc.). From there its all about travel, girls, misc. If you dont have enough pension to cover anything because you buggered off early, then you gots what you gots.
Smile.Keep your mouth shut. Never talk politics and religion. Keep your income to yourself. Do not wear flashy jewelry.Never piss off a local-you don't know who they may know . I have lived abroad on and off for years and this is my best advice.
Lots of good advice in this video that I strongly recommend following. I lived in Costa Rica for a few years before moving to Colombia, and watched the bar stools do a lot of Expats in, literally. Most of the Expats just hung around the bars drinking from morning to night with nothing else going for them. I can imagine how easy a man can fall into that pattern if you don't have a plan. Like the video suggest, get out and meet people, travel around the country and enjoy life!
@@JeremyClodfelter Costa Rica is very corrupt, and has constantly rising prices. Theft is high in all areas of the country, and you litterally have to guarg everything you own all of the time. That in itself is not only tiring, but keeps you from living freely without worry.
Spent 6 yrs in PI and agree with you 100%. I have a great PI wife and live in VN now, because there were no biz or work opportunities in PI that I felt were good. Hope folks listen to you. Good show!
My story is different than most. Met my Ormoc girl online by chance through a chatting app. After 2 divorces from American women, I wanted real change. We hit it off right away. She was a drop dead gorgeous 29 yr old. I was at 45 yrs old. She was 3 years in to her separation from her husband. 4 kids between them. She had a great personality and we really clicked. After 2 months chatting, I got my passport and flew there. Everything went great! We were a couple. I took great care of her and her kids. New apartment, new everything. Too big a heart I guess :/ Stayed a month. Went back home. Went back the next year. Fell in love. She definitely seemed to be too. Lots of real emotions. We got engaged. And since almost a full year before, I had been paying the lawyer there to process and push her annulment forward. Only finding out as time passed that her annulment was all but impossible to get done. 5k spent on just the lawyer by year 2. Still not to court for final approval. Keeping her and her family up the whole time. Sending an average of about $400 USD per month, not including the lawyer... and a lawyer here to get her visa paperwork ready. It all began to fall apart as I was around 30k deep into it and running out of income to send. Her and I had a fuss, which was rare. She wanted to move to a cheaper apartment to help, which was fine and appreciated but it was a few feet from her ex husbands door. She claimed it made since to help the kids but of course I took issue. She got angry. We broke up and it was never the same. I lost her, the money, all my hopes and dreams of having my pinay wife and was also in near financial ruin back home in N.C. We stayed in touch for awhile. She left to work in Manila for a bit after that. We stopped talking. I realize I will be laughed at for this. I just wanted to share that yes I made some mistakes. Even though they were made with a pure heart to help her and be with her. It was the greatest moments of my life and I still have not moved on two years later and cry over her whenever the memories cross my mind. Be careful what decisions you make. Not everyone has been as fortunate as to get things with their Pinay girl to work out. Fairytales don't always have happy endings. If yours did work out, then good for you but remember to show understanding for others that did not. :(( Thanks for the video. Good advice.
I am 45 dating online 28 year old Filipina. Mine has no kids, never married... thanks for sharing. I was also target of many scammers. You have to be careful and suspicious, no matter of people dating.
I met my fiancée on Asian Dating, and I feel I was extremely lucky to have found her because she was a hard working nanny in Hong Kong and never dated or been married at the age of 32. After visiting her twice in Philippines and falling in love with this beautiful person inside and out, she has passed her interview at the Embassy in Manila and will be in the states soon. Our plan will be to retire back in her place in Leyte. I really enjoy your videos sir, I love your perspective.God bless.
Kirby Logan congratulations I met my gf over Facebook. We chatted did phone and video calls for two and a half years. Finally last September 2017 I came to Quezon City to be with her. It's going 9 months now and we are very happy. We have a nice apartment here and plan to marry and live here permanently now that I'm retired.
Kirby Logan Wish you the very best and hopefully adjust with her (perhaps with her family, lol j/k) and the environment. Jeremy Clodfelter presented good things on what/what-not-to-do. NO offense, but just be cautious on the woman herself (NOT saying if she's bad or not) because people do change (for better or worse) AFTER marriages. For security some people do make prenuptial agreements (in paper or in video), and these agreements does NOT have to be all about $$$.
You're accent is warm and friendly. Your information is common sense that needs to be said out loud because common sense seems to be not as common as it should be. I'm saving this video on my PI Playlist. :)
Some very wise words! I am coming to the Philippines on my sailboat, I am 36, will be 37 by the time I get there. Kind of makes me wonder what I will find there.
For no particular reason I can point to, I really like this guy. Self-effacing, realistic, great attitude, trying to good in the world ... I don't know, those basic qualities are what it's all about
Thank you . Ive been chatting with a great woman everyday for three years and am about to go there . Totally like your opinion and lots of your followers. Thanks Again. Great Americans died to keep the Philippines great. I wont stand for those Americans or others who want to take advantage of such kind beautiful people.
Let's take the example of Angeles City, what else can you do in Angeles City except to drink the whole day. The Philippine government should build a recreation center in Angeles City for expats like a gym, swimming pool, tennis court, basketball court, chess competition, etc. These will help rehabilitate the alcoholics westerners.
One thing I think personally you got wrong I understand the probability of a bar girl sleeping with more men upping your chances of catching something. But some women not all actually use dating agencies just like a bar girl uses a bar for income point and person I can testify to is my ex Lhen I found out the hard way she was seeing me and two more guys at the same time and just waiting on each one coming for vacation time needless to say that terminated her I sent her back home to Tarlac after five days of a month vacation and finished the holiday on my own. I met her through Filipino Cupid and at the time I thought she was great and on point she was my first Filipino girlfriend and now I’ve met Del and much happier and I met her through a Filipino looking for friends site and she had only posted pics of her graduation and we got talking through that just a simple comment from me giving her congratulations on her achievements.
don't trust anyone here, until you get to know them and their family. they will smile at you and lie through their teeth. and don't trust dating sites. just come here in person.
Cactus Jack, great advice, i had to check if i was the one to write your comment long ago and forgot it. But i dont always recommend to get to know the family, to be honest some girls even think its exiting with a guy who dont want to kiss up to her parents, a little sense of rebellion is a sure way to turn those girls on.
Reading all of this sounds depressing. Lol. Cant believe those people view me as a walking atm! Lol Reason enuff for me to chose to go to the central n south americas or austrailia really. Not sure. Im still researching. Not sure 50 hr plane trip is worth it for 1 mo vacay n then 50 hr back. Lol. Im looking to move overseas but this video wasnt too encouraging. It seems most countries suck n i know about women. They can play men like fiddles real ez. Its a slippery slope n especially so in pi i guess. Bummer. Will see.
When in the philippines, just concentrate to your reason of being in the philippines. Don’t mess up with internal matter, you re just a guest and don’t have to get involve in whatever problem that is not related to your purpose of being in the philippines. President Duterte is not what we often hear in the West. Duterte will never do you wrong if you do not mess up with his country men an women, if you do not behave like arrogant to your guest country.......as a french African guy, I feel more home in the philippines than elsewhere in the Western Hemisphere. About woman, you have bad and good everywhere and there is no more hiv in the philippines than in any other country in the so call western countries. Respect Filipino, don’t think they are less than you because they are not and you will be fine.
I ve confirmed what you ve said by saying that the philippines have no “more “ HIV than any western country.....sorry about my English, I m french....but I approve everything you ve said
First time I've seen one of your video's and have to say that was very good advice. I'm an older guy (like at retirement age) in Canada who has been married to a Filipina for a few years now, with plans of spending at least half of our time in the Philippines in the not so distant future. I've subscribed and hope to enjoy more of your videos now that I've found your channel.
I don't think it's that the President doesn't like foreigners ,more that he doesn't like the way some of the foreigners behave there. I've seen it for myself with people that would politely be described in the West as "oddballs" with young girls, macho types thinking it's ok to eye up anything female in the Malls and all kinds of arrogance and ignorance in between. For too long these guys have been tolerated and trust me ,plenty in Britain would like to see a "behave yourself or get out" policy here instead of often seriously bad people being allowed to stay because of their "human rights".
I disagree with you Noodles. Our prez doesnt like foreigners who act like we are still subservient to you. We are a sovereign nation and all we want is to be treated as equal. Personally I have seen a lot of foreigners being so rude and thinks he owns the place. You are our guest and as such please behave. I also travel alot to different countries and as long you follow their rules/laws and respect the people you will never get into trouble. Have you guys travel to Russia? You wont last a day if you act like an asshole. Same as anywhere else. I disagree on your saying he cuddles China. Pls get your facts right
You marry even the neighbors, and distant relatives they never met before. They look at you in terms of dollars, as a personal bank account, a good source of easy money.
Very informative video. Really appreciated it much. One good thing to do is to get out of your comfort zone sometimes, mingle with friends and be one of them. Be open to know their culture then good and genuine things may follow along with it
@@barrymusgrove9900 My dream retirement! Some classic 70's movies, fridge full of Red Horse beer, tropical rain outside, Aircon going full throttle. PI, here I come!
Excessive Drinking definitely does ruin most foreigners there. But the waitress will be willing to put out, its not like a western stripclub. Most foreigners make the mistake of staying in one place for too long. Its best to always be on the move and to keep a low profile. The province is deadly after dark. Another tip would be to avoid family loans and sad luck stories. Cut the freeloader uncle and 2nd cousins who want to drink and gamble on your wallet
So ur saying i shouldnt buy that 20g container house n 25 yr lease n stay in 1 spot for 25 yrs! What? Uve got to be shixxing me right? Lol. Ive never heard anything like what u are talking about in the us. So ur saying i should be a 2nd class citizen n take my beatings n be happy? Lol. What a joke. Pi sounds like a joke to me because no jobs for foreigners n only wives own property n families r known to scam us guys as walking atms! Yea pi way too risky for me. Sorry but that is what i am learning.
@@jc41457 YEP he means that exzactly plus the homes are super super small like living in a big closet with a small bathroom its a joke the sizes of homes there thats why ive herd build your own house western style lol.
I know guys have gone there with around 100k, lived over 10 years well, then started collecting pension, and still live well. 10k a year is a pretty good life, especially with the right woman and owning your property.
@@imgrootrf4753 Of course Foreigners can on property in the Philippines... Maybe limited.... Just goes see yourself a good attorney... For Realestate...
That is correct 💁🏽♀️.. in any 3rd country.. And I applaud u for the condom reference.. outsider cannot and will not own any property in the Philippine.. that is just how it is.. new sub
Great information ! Having traveled some myself I've seen how EASY it is for Ex-Pats to fall into the habit of Drinking too much. I've spent a fair amount of time in Mexico and seen it firsthand.Because it's sooo damn easy to do. Rock On Brother. P.S. I live on the Virginia/North Carolina border. Even though I myself am a New Yorker born and raised, I live amongst people who speak with the same regional accent that you have.So watching you in the Philippines sounds like listening to one of my neighbors. Comforting. Retiring this Summer ( 56 ) and am considering the Philippines for expatriation. Thanks again.
Man you hit the nail square on this video. The two that stood out for me that were solid reminders are to not tie your life up with a girl and don't catch an attitude there about things not going your way.
Where are you living now? My place is in Masbate Island, but I live in Bacoor Cavite with my wife of 6 years, she is 35, I am 57, we now have 2 lovely daughters, 4 and 2.
Lol Filipino Cupid. 😂 that’s how I met my wife 😆 we’ve been happily married for 7 years and now we got a cute little boy. I love her family. They are awesome. The Philippines 🇵🇭 is such a hospitable place. I can’t wait to go back.
The leader there is OK. The ones before a disaster. This one got the drug problem under control. He is soft but has had effect. Loved this video and the attitude. Fantastic .... so I subbed.
L M A O... at 25,000 and counting killed through EJK (Extra Judicial KIllings), take your luck to be part of a statistics. Syphilis duterte already admitted the EJKs.
Thank you for the video! I’ve visited the Philippines twice with my dad, and mainly stayed in Hinunangan, Southern Leyte with family when we weren’t exploring some of the other islands. What part of the Philippines did you record this video?
Hi I’m a Brit been living here for two years you have given very good advice this is my first time viewing your channel I’m going to watch more many thanks
Jeremy, I hope you keep these videos coming. I am a veteran on full VA disability (3000 USD Monthly) and thinking about closing down all my debt here in the states and then moving to the Philippines. I was there when the navy base was still active till 92. The place still has a place in my mind. I am looking to start a fresh new life and just can't seem to get that here in the states. I would have a number of questions to ask if you ever check these messages. Other than that, I have been surfing looking for videos that might answer my questions, the problem is finding ones that are up to date and not 4 or 5 years old as things can change such as visa requirements and such. I am leaning on the Philippines because there is a VA outpatient clinic in Manila and a handful of US based banks here which will make me having access to my pension easier for me to set up. Hope you keep getting these videos out and keeping us all up to date.
you make great vlogs and you are better than TV travel shows! you have a great voice and the camera loves you! keep making vlogs and so positive-!!!! awesome!!!!
Sadly most Filipinos don't respect each other nor foreigners. So it's a little funny to ask for foreigners to all behave like model citizens. Take my neighbor who throws cigarette butts to my balcony, after mentioning it twice, he still keeps doing it. Of course if I complain too loud I'm the "arrogant foreigner". Where's the respect there...
It's not PC for a rich foreigner to complain, you have learned the rules, now you must obey. Try to return a broken aircon for warranty, good luck. Now have your wife exchange the same broken unit, no problem, you know what the deal is.
Lol, my mother in law is a wealthy Filipina and her husband works for customs. I was treated like a king there and as soon as a customs suv pulled up and a police officer got out and carried my bags off the ferry, suddenly all the taxis shilling me for a fare and the people hawking tourist garbage treated me like a ghost. It kind of sucks seeing that kind of class divide, but it's nice when you're on the long end of that stick every once in a while. It really is all about who you know over there.
the benefits of being with a bar girl, NO DRAMA... lol... lol Just kidding, when I was stationed there, they (the bar girls) were my best friend. They always looked after me and made sure that I was safe. It also helped that majority of them knew my uncle and snitched me out when I was doing silly stuff.
Thank you for this video. I worked here in Manila and knew many friends having same situation as you said. I had a friend also from US. He just married to a Filipina last year. Now he has hard time to help his wife processing everything on getting US visa and so on.. it costs a lot of money.
Jeremy good advice. I have been going there now three years. I would add, if going to get lucky, stay in Angeles city or Makati. Meet other expats or find Filipino friends. Travel with your friends to provinces. Most Filipino's are nice and respectful. Do Not do drugs or hang around people that do. Duterte is no joke. Everybody loves him and he is making the country better. So be respectful any where you go. You will be treated the same. If you are going to meet a good girl, get away from the big cities. I've done the crazy bar hopping thing. I've been to Tagatay, Gen San, Palawan, Coron, Baclor. I did meet my fiancee on DateinAsia. I did run into scammers on there. But only one or two. Now my fiancee is in So California while I work in Afghanistan. Great video :)

THIS IS THE MOST HELPFUL video for those travelling in the Philippines. I have viewed your video on Thailand. Your comments on THAILAND is also the same in the Philippines. Hope you can do more what not to do in specific country in Europe perhaps... You have a very good topic....
You need to also put up with the loud (what they call in music) all i here is BOOM BOOM some times till 3am even though the law says 10pm . And it is not to be as loud as they have it. Thank goodness i have a good rapport with the local police and when i can not take it any longer i call and they come and shut it down . Also be prepared to pay more at the market than a Filipino and in any store that the price is not on the item . I have tested this with my wife of over 40 years . I only live here 5 months a year i need to go back to US and regroup . Driving is very hard to do in the city i only go so far toward the city and then call a (Grab) to come pick me up . I live on the island of Cebu and more and more motor cycles and scooters on the road i bet most don’t have a License and most don’t have tail lights at night hard to see will pass you on the right (Watch out) If i come from the city to home it is 35miles and take about 2&1/2 hours . You just have to live with it things are not going to change if you can not put up with it stay in your country don’t make this your permeant home . I am sure other islands are better that others to live on you just have to explore .
100 to 300 thousands dollars wont last you 3 to 5 yrs . Pft I live with less in the US. To each their own. But if I had $300,000 I'd live 20 yrs comfotably....in the Phil's. Granted you'd have to take inflation in to account.
At the age of 17 I was working in a hospital in the village (Manhattan) and all the hospital rooms were full of dying young men and a few women. Years later when drugs were helping people live longer a counselor I worked with would point out all pretty girls that had AIDS and I would have been happy to sleep with those girls had I not known. I NEVER went bareback with any girl after that, always wore a rain coat no matter how pretty no matter how hot things got. I slept with 100's of girls and never caught anything, not a sore, not a wart, not a baby, nada. I am happily married and I can bareback all I want now and not worry about the wife catching anything. protect your Johnson at all costs and possibly save your life.
I’ve seen it first hand..old guy loses his mind over smorgasbord of ladies in the PI and is a ticket to US as well as security! Average marriage: 7 years.. long enough to apply for citizenship.
Great video. Very informative and I love the straight talking honesty. I was there in 1985 before the Internet came . I got married there and have 2 great kids . I am now remarried to a Chinese. No regrets. I would say to all guys going out there do your homework first . Be streetwise I was always a target. Keep your brain out of your pants. Don't get into a taxi with 2 men . Don't talk politics or religion. Trust know one. Things may have improved since I was there when Marcos was in power. There was a lot of street poverty and kids looking for money options, so be on your guard again trust know one because I got ripped off so many times. Apart from that. Enjoy. Thanks for the video. Brings back memories.
Oliver - in what way? Positive or negative? I am just meeting a girl from Filipino... to be honest, I am pretty lonely here in Europe. I would like to have a warm wife and family... what do you mean? They are just about your money or... ?
Frenky B. I see he didn't answer You, so I will, I Married a Filipina a couple yrs ago, and while it's true you marry the whole family that can be a good thing, my new in-laws are wonderful, caring honest people, and just like my Wife, they also go way above and beyond to make me feel welcome, some of friendliest people I have met in my 54 yrs, also be prepared, Filipinos Love to celebrate, especially birthdays, they will cook up a feast you wouldn't believe for these occasions, and these people really know how to cook! My in-laws even have a party and cook up a storm for my birthday when I'm not there for the occasion, I am truly blessed to have these people for in-laws. If you have a Filipino girlfriend you are a lucky man, although I'm sure there are some bad women there, as there is everywhere, my Wife would go to the ends of the earth for me, and is completely faithful, I have friends married to Filipinos also and they agree it was the best decision they have made. Also I have found that people in the Philippines are some of the friendliest people I have ever come across, much more so than people here in the States, just don't act like an idiot. This had been my experience, and I hope it helps you out, if your girlfriend is one of the good ones, Marry her, you'll be glad you did, I wish you well on your journey.
Frenky B, what Oliver meant was if you marry a filipina you marry the whole family, means to say the whole family is looking up to you financially, especially families coming from very remote areas and, yes poor. There are plus and minus points in it but mostly minus on your part. It doesnt mean you can shag the whole family. But this is not always the case, but this happens due to economic reasons. Also please bear in mind that this is a catholic nation and such they have this notion of extended family where a married son/daughter is still living on the same roof.
Abstain from discussions about: Politics Religion Drugs Don't say things against: Government or it's officials. Person's Family. Religious affiliations Live in a provincial area and not Manila, because it is cheaper costs and there are less: Corrupt people per Capita. Less mosquitos, depending on locale. Less dependence on foreign 💰. Avoid being kidnapped by: checking with the USA Embassy Travel Advisory. Be in well lit areas whenever possible.
Well said my friend. Nothing better than a Filipina who considers you "Her Man" ... I will keep my wife and avoid ANY Bar / KTV girl. But my Asawa does NOT Share!
Ha ha yes I married to a Filipina your totally right :D lol Lolo nags me constantly :D - weird .. is it me or do all Filipinos sleep hugging pillows???
Way to go! There are quite a lot of valid points in this video that will help others wanting to spend their time and money here in the Philippines. Endeavoring to be an expat anywhere involves a lot of risks, even in a country that some think are full of friendly, accomodating people. Just do your research. It will be YOUR decision to move in to this country as an expat anyway. If good things happen, be thankful and happy. If it's the opposite, learn from it and move on.
wish i saw your video 14 years ago hehe. met a filipina had a son and supported both of them. when i caught her messing around and got pregnant with her Bf i asked her to let me take my son to the USA and she agreed. He is 11 now and the best boy anyone could have and she is with the cement and rebar that i left behind. i did spend so much there building and supporting her but i have a son who is worth every penny i spent. i guess i met one of the bad ones so be careful. i still love phil and the people there but if your a foreigner to them your rich and they will tell you anything to get your money period. i should have bought a condo in makati and that would have been money well spent.
@@JeremyClodfelter what i like about you is that you're keeping it real for many of us who have been thinking of jumping on that big silver bird, I've been trying for over 10 years to go there.
Yes , lots of people think the Philippines is really cheap for everything , but it is NOT. some things are cheap , But lots of things are around the same price as back home in your western country . Try not to drive cars in manila and other crowded places. If you are in an accident , it will always be YOUR fault . no matter who was in the wrong . Police corruption exists . and nearly all filipinos who see you out and about will always think you are rich. Yes it is easy to drink yourself to death there . alcohol is very affordable, same with ciggs . Don't do drugs , have respect for the people , and don't act like an idiot or big shot , and you should be fine.
What if i look like a movie star? Does that help or hinder me? How much money is required to buy the police off or is that expected ie a bribe which is not punished. All of this stuff i am hearing is literally making me ill. Ive heard so many good things but it only takes 1 really bad day to ruin ur life. Yep. To me pi just doesnt have enuff positive reasons to say yes on a visit or move at this time.
My niece as well as many others said I look rich. I don't know why- its just the way it is. I won't be able change the situation in the Philippines. Maybe being the Boss has caused all this?
Best thing I can recommend is, get on the internet. Don’t go to the dating sites, but to the TH-cam videos such as this one. Learn from them. Heed their warnings. Never go to the Philippines, or anywhere, without a contingency plan.
Woh.... Just finished the Thai video... this one is just as informative & spot on. You speak my language my friend. I appreciate your logic... #respect
because she will soon feel homesick and sad, because family will write her that something bad happened and they need help. Because mom and dad want to come to visit and you have to buy the plane tickets, because her brother is in trouble and need money. But this is not something that could happen only with filippinos girls. This is commonplace if you marry a girl from "poor, faraway exotic countries", be them southamerican, south-east asia, whatever. Not always, of course, but probably

Depends on the girl and you. If you know she is a bargirl or golddigger, u get what is coming to u in the USA. Keep it simple, dont talk about income, and just chill.
Great information! You have a good heart my man. And, you are very intelligent. I appreciate it - you have a good sole.. Working on getting my wife and child here to the states - would love to get together next time in the PI.
The decency and sincerity of this man is so evident. What a great guy!

Yes he is!!
Congrats on your success Steve. That's an amazing story!

Hey, would you tell a little of what was the proccess in order to buy yourself a place in the Philipines and also move everything you had to move?

Thanks for sharing
I like this man. I really do. He speaks common sense. That's all. Just common sense...
Thanks Oscar!
He's correct about just about everything! Follow his advice, especially stay away from bar stools!
That’s a fair observation EJ. Thanks for the comment.
Smile.Keep your mouth shut. Never talk politics and religion. Keep your income to yourself.
Do not wear flashy jewelry.Never piss off a local-you don't know who they may know .
I have lived abroad on and off for years and this is my best advice.
Exactly. Well said
Excellent advice
Gold but true for all countries
I couldn't agree with you more.
Thanks Ta.
Good show!
Thanks a lot J.R. I appreciate you tuning in! Congrats on the relationship.
Thanks for the video. Good advice.
Thanks for sharing your story. I truly hope your situation improves!

Wish you the very best and hopefully adjust with her (perhaps with her family, lol j/k) and the environment.

Lol. I hope the Philippine govt likes your suggestion!
Ain't going to happen. They can barely build secure buildings to save their people from typhoons.
Good points John.

Cactus Jack, great advice, i had to check if i was the one to write your comment long ago and forgot it. First time I've seen one of your video's and have to say that was very good advice. I've subscribed and hope to enjoy more of your videos now that I've found your channel.

I also love the PH!
I agree with everything you said with exception to your first independent clause. However, that’s just my opinion. Thanks for the comment.

Hi Jeremy, I missed your kind of videos like this in 🇵🇭 Philippines.. Good point for expats whose gonna stay in 🇵🇭.
Now you're the Mexican.

I was in Cebu City for four months. I feel your pain!
And i am still here till mid Feb and get readjusted @@JeremyClodfelter
Good Video , i would just add , always always keep some emergency cash for a flight out, its not a good place to be stuck,
Agreed
I'm Filipino and I agree with the things that Jeremy Clodfelter says on this video.
Thanks Gerald!
100 to 300 thousands dollars wont last you 3 to 5 yrs . Pft I live with less in the US. To each their own. But if I had $300,000 I'd live 20 yrs comfotably....in the Phil's. Granted you'd have to take inflation in to account.
Solid info.
I live fine in NCR for 1200$ month
I'm glad you have no problems. Unfortunately, your story is a rare one. Thank you for the comment.
I’ve seen it first hand..old guy loses his mind over smorgasbord of ladies in the PI and is a ticket to US as well as security! Average marriage: 7 years.. long enough to apply for citizenship.
Thx for your help and tips to survive in the Philippines godspeed to you sir!
So nice of you
Dude your one smart man ty for the advice
Thank you for subscribing David. Welcome to the channel!
excellent, down to earth advice,as real as it gets !!
Thanks for the comment Pete!
Don't accept tampo whatever you do. Pretty good ideas. Watch out for the family black holes where the money disappears.
whats tampo?
Thanks for the comment. It doesn't sound like things have changed that much. You pretty much nailed it!
This is the opposite of a nike add..."just dont do it"😂
Lol
Very informative. Thanks for the heads up!
Welcome Dylan!
Thanks a lot! I didn't expect a response and especially one that quick! I plan to be in the Philippines within the next few months. Thanks again!
if you have a filipina wife, the whole family realatives, cousins is your family now lol
That's one reason I moved to Thailand! lol. Thanks for the comment.
You will always be the outsider, never on the inner circle, you will be met with jealousy and indifference, get used to it.
nice to hear a honest opinion and the truth, sounded all ever so real in todays world . thank you for your video i learned more information now.
Very welcome Scott. Thanks for the comment!

Excellent video. EVERY BIT OF THIS IS TRUE. GREAT ADVICE
Thank you!!!
Well said my friend. Nothing better than a Filipina who considers you "Her Man" ... I will keep my wife and avoid ANY Bar / KTV girl. But my Asawa does NOT Share!
Hey bro ... Wht u have said is right ... I have a Filipino wife ... Till now going great .. TC god bless you
Thanks!
Nice video..just straight to the point..no sugar coating..lol
Thank you for the comment Steven!
I'm an indoor person so I don't mind being inside all day. Going out to eat or food shopping is all the outdoor activity I need.
If you marry a Filipina, you are marrying the whole family HAHAHA
In many cases, that is true! Thank you for the comment.
Lol.... thankfully I married just my darling 30 yrs now and still going strong. Am fortunate too she comes from an upbeat family in Manila.
MrDiabotical make it know before you get married that is not going to happen. I did and it's no problem.
Yes that's true.
I agree!
wish i saw your video 14 years ago hehe. met a filipina had a son and supported both of them. when i caught her messing around and got pregnant with her Bf i asked her to let me take my son to the USA and she agreed.
Yup. most of these girls have been sheltered by their families and they can easily flip flop on relationship.
Cool video. I'm married to a Filipina and living in China. Planning on moving to the Philippines in the future. I love the country.
That’s awesome! Best of luck, and safe travels!
Good sensible video and advice.
Thank you Robert!
Really like watching your videos, everything you say is what i agree with , youve motivated me in so many ways. Im going there end of this month!
That's fantastic DJ. I wish you all the best! Be safe over there, and have a great time! Thank you for the comment!
Thanks for the comment.
Lots of wisdom. Thanks for practical reality in your video.
Very welcome!
Best thing I can recommend is, get on the internet. Don’t go to the dating sites, but to the TH-cam videos such as this one. Learn from them. Heed their warnings. Never go to the Philippines, or anywhere, without a contingency plan.
I completely agree. Thank you for the comment.
Woh.... Just finished the Thai video... this one is just as informative & spot on. You speak my language my friend. I appreciate your logic... #respect
Thanks again Billy! Much appreciated!
What NOT to do in the USA: Bring your Filipino Wife.
LOL.
Why?
because she will soon feel homesick and sad, because family will write her that something bad happened and they need help.
@@lyn846 because once here she will like the european/american way of life, she will go out much more that in Asia, will expend much more money and will finally find another man who she finds more interesting than you.
Thanks for the comment. I will be back in the PI later this year. I am currently in Thailand.
