Over the past 2 years I have been diagnosed with C-PTSD, ADHD, GAD and major depression. 2 years ago my ability to handle complexity shut down. I’m on meds for all of these. These issues are lifelong and I didn’t recognize them for what they were. The C-PTSD was a result of living in a 24/7 abusive environment provided by my parents from birth. As a kid “fight or flight” was a constant. ADHD and GAD were always present as well. I’m 65 years old. You can’t imagine the difficulties that present themselves through 65 years of a damaged executive function. Both of my siblings have even greater issues than I do. I ad lib better than most, which is how I have survived. When you have a damaged executive function, ad lib is all there is and you had better be very good at it, as the alternative is homelessness.

Mental health + Substance Abuse / Addiction in my personal experience are 100% linked.
The mental health issue drives the abuse of substances like a way of handling our mental issues.
Like the only form of normality.
I hope more people understand that peoppe baddly addicted dont wamt to be addicts. But something bigger is causing this flaw.
People even at their worst whom have a glimmer of getting help on their own can succeed.
We need more education for familys of people undergoing treatments and also understand it's a process .
I got my life back . 2 years counting sober and great mental health. I wanted it and was blessed to find a program that stuck with me .
God Bless every person who is dealing with issues like this.

He was a dominant wide receiver especially in the early 2010’s but he was a ticking time bomb and would melt down very easily no matter how much success he was having. I remember being maybe 12 years old and seeing a story of him and his wife arguing which led to her stabbing him and just being blown away. To see who he’s became now is incredible great show by Dale too.

As a person with Bi-Polar 1 disorder, I can admit that every day can be a war. The stigma is real, and unfortunately the stigma is real as real gets. Even on meds, even when you take responsibility and attend therapy, even when you are as mindful as can be, the disorder is still there. The people that truly accept you are angels, and I thank them for those who accept me for who I am:)

2 comments. 1 Brandon you should have stayed with my Bears. Damn you were tops. 2. Jr. I read comments recently about Bubba Wallace and his thoughts of a F1/ NASCAR double header next year. Though an avid and long time fan of Both series, this idea popped in my head. NASCAR has added more road classes in recent years than had ever been introduced into the top bracket. I still love Watkins Glen and, well I remember it still as Sears Point (Infineon) and the introduction on the Daytona road coarse not in the season runnings. My thought was haring the road coarse with F1. I'm not thinking the same weekend. Maybe the weekend before or after. I am real curious to your thoughts on that. Feasible it is more possible than the double header Bubba thought of. But NASCAR has never run the same coarse as F1 has in any season. Neither Indy road coarse or Texas road coarse when F1 has run at those tracks. For me as a motorsports fan of Both series. Its like the IROC Series of old, but instead of a select few drivers from each series, it would be the entire fields of Both series.
