James Lankford, the Oklahoma Republican who was among the three senators who negotiated the immigration deal, took to the Senate floor Wednesday to make a case for the deal and bipartisan legislation ahead of a key vote in the Senate. "You can do a partisan bill in the House," Lankford said, "but in the Senate, we have to look at each other across the aisle and then figure out a way to be able to solve this."

Mr Lankford, although I appreciate what you are doing to support this bill and stated that even DJT agreed new laws were needed, you neglected to remind people that under djt both house & senate were republican, and yet NOTHING was done

Senator Lankford proved himself to be a strong negotiator by working across the aisle to help craft the strongest border bill in generations. Then he defended it because it is the right thing for the American people, and that is who he works for. Now the MAGA GOP is roasting him alive in service to the worst human being on the planet, and I'm sure virtually none of them even read the bill. It is one of the most sickening things I've ever seen.

Why is this so complicated? We are full….close the border, until all that are here are processed the proper way. 10 years is a long time. When you have low income and you need housing assistance there is a waiting list when that list is full it is closed. When the list opens up again you put your name on it….wait your turn.
American business is clamoring for workers, and American business owns the Republican party. They want their base to be riled up, but they will never let the party close the border. I feel bad for republican voters who are being played like a fiddle.

There se to be a time when politicians recognized and accepted their differences but were still willing to work with fellow Americans despite the letter (R or D) after their names. We need a bill that closes the borders & expedites the backlog of asylum claims and deports the illegitimate asylum claims. A 10 - year backlog is not acceptable and should have never gotten so large! We also need to build more border wall, and close up the open gaps.

Thanks James. I appreciate your work and willingness to do what is right. It is sad doing the right thing for the country is so unusual and courageous these days, but obviously it is. I always tell people I don't have to live with everybody else, but I do have to live with myself. You can live with yourself after your work on this whether it passes or not. God job.
