    Wow! Your RX is light years ahead of mine. I'm currently at 78,000 miles, even though its a 2004. I have no plans on getting rid of this car, regardless of how old it gets. As long as it starts, it's mine forever.

      @@michaelwoyahn2238 Yeah, I really am looking forward to another Lexus. There are a few ES350's in the Chicagoland area for under 10 grand. The one I'm keeping an eye on is 9 grand and it's got around 75,000 miles. I hope to get it!

    How are the seats on long journeys? I drive 16 hour stretches and even my iS 350 gets uncomfortable, but I don't think any car seat can be that good for that long. I got an RX 330 2004 with 202k and ready for a long trip. Hoping I can get as good of mileage as you.

    • @michaelwoyahn2238

      I would say the seats are really good! I’ve never gotten to the point where I’d call them uncomfortable, though sometimes it still feels nice to stand up after some stretches. I think the longest trip was 12 hours though, so not totally sure about how they feel at 16 hours.

    Ever replace the radiator? Mines starting leaking at 140k miles. Mechanic think it was lack of coolant flushing? Had it flushed around 80-90k miles

    • @michaelwoyahn2238
      @michaelwoyahn2238  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      We've actually replaced it twice! I can't remember the exact timeframe of the first one, but I think it was around 130k. The second one was not an OEM replacement as far as I know, and that was replaced at least five years ago. Honestly, we haven't done regular coolant services, which probably has contributed to them going bad.

      @lorenfok1097 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaelwoyahn2238 might be a design flaw TBH, did some digging on clublexus forums and others had reported the same problem. Gonna get mine fixed on Thursday at a radiator shop quoted me $500 which is a fair deal.

    • @michaelwoyahn2238
      @michaelwoyahn2238  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Loren Fok I could definitely see that! I know there was a TSB for the radiator which definitely points to a known issue. $500 is definitely fair!

    what’s up man, nice! Question.. what type of gas do you use? Reg, Super, premium?? I’m so confused

    • @michaelwoyahn2238
      @michaelwoyahn2238  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      A2ZFBC We’ve only used regular in this car and my dad’s RX350! I think premium is recommended in the RX330 and it’s “required” in the RX350. But we’ve never had any issues running regular! At the heart of them, they are just Toyota engines (as far as I know), so they should be fine with regular.

    Hey Michael, I have pretty much the same car but mine is a RX 350 2008. I have about 188 Plus thousand miles on mine. The only issue I have right now is faded headlights the back handle does not work on the hatchback and my cruise control gives me trouble every now and then. Did you have any issues with the cruise control yourself?

    • @michaelwoyahn2238
      @michaelwoyahn2238  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mark Ducote My dad has a 2008 RX350 too, and he’s actually recently started having issues with the cruise control not engaging! It seems to get better when the car is warmed up so I’m wondering if a connection is starting to wear down. My 2004 hasn’t had issues with the cruise control yet.

    • @markducote3066
      @markducote3066 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting. That’s cool that your car still has no issues with its cruise control. I really like this car a lot! It does excellent in the snow! No issues at all. I have a 99 Honda Accord that has 230,000 miles on it. But it’s only front wheel drive. I got tired of having issues with bad weather so I finally got an all wheel drive vehicle. This really is an excellent car, my Lexus I mean. Thank you for taking the time to talk to me. And thanks again for posting this video on your car. It’s helped me to decide to get my Lexus. What do you use to get rid of the fade on the headlights? That’s something I want to get done soon myself.

      @@markducote3066 You're more than welcome! I'm glad the video helped in your decision! I'm glad you're enjoying your RX, too. They are just such good cars. My RX is 100 miles shy of 275,000 miles and still is very solid. I'm planning to do an update video once I hit that milestone since I've had a few things I've had to address.
      These cars are so good in the snow, too. It's gotten me through some pretty nasty weather where I've watched a lot of other cars struggling, and this one gets through entirely drama free. I've driven a few front wheel drive cars in the snow and it made me realize how spoiled I am with this car in the snow!
      I used the 3M headlight restoration kit! It came with a clear coat that you wipe on and that lasted for a couple of years- my headlights are a bit yellow again now. If I would have put more wax or sealant over them, they probably would've stayed clear longer. I may be using that kit again this summer to address this. Let me know if you have any other questions!

    My god, the RX just shrugs it off as if 263k is nothing! Also, it is really impressive that the engine doesn't burn any oil at this mileage. My mom's Accord is at 150k and that thing... burns a fair amount of oil

      @michaelwoyahn2238  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly, it's still crazy to me that I hop in my car everyday and drive it without any thought, just like any other car, and the only thing that reminds me of its age is the odometer. The oil is always my bragging point haha!

    I just got rid of a 2004 RX 330 with 350k miles, bad transmission, leaky steering rack, bad struts, and a wrecked front end for 5,500.
    There is a certain price point to where you just cant find these cars and I was right at that line. I have seen a few 4k dollar prices but everything else was in a junk yard. I may have sold one of the shittiest high mileage rx330 to date.

      @@michaelwoyahn2238 It was a funny situation. I sprayed the motor down with engine cleaner and pressure washed it. I detailed the interior. I shoved the bumper back in fenders so it didnt look wrecked, and I cleared the check engine codes before I went in.
      I brought it to carmax already warmed up because it barely shifted out of gear cold. After they gave me an offer of 5,500 I literally thought it was a joke. I took them up on the offer and got an Uber to Lexus, bought the new RX.

      @@michaelwoyahn2238 Thank you. I also have a 2014 Is 350, 1987 Porsche 944 Turbo, 1970 BMW 2002, and a motorcycle. Always a Lexus though for daily driving and everyday life. Best cars for the money but I find the new body styles make people treat me differently because they make you look flashy and rich. My 2004 RX was so low key yet held it's own. I really wish they made an RXF. Lol.
      I have to admit though now that German competition is getting more reliable I am starting to like newer Porsche Cayannes, Macans, and Q5s.

      @@ftnppg1272 That's an awesome fleet! I'm hoping to keep my RX going for awhile so I could have a fun car to complement it eventually! But Lexuses really are fantastic daily drivers. So comfy and practical.
      I could see the new ones having a different stigma which is too bad! The 2nd general RX is great for that, as you said. I can't blame you for checking out the Porsches and Audis. I really like them, too, but they are quite out of my price range at the moment! At least you've got some German cars to hold you over in the mean time!
