Interesting idea. At some point it would be nice if the process of panning could be automated within the game using wind power, like that of grinding, pulverizing and hammering - panning would seem to be something that could be legitimately automated with Vintage Story technology, without it seeming out of place or unreasonable.
@@VintageCopperman Well, to be fair, it is a valid strategy early on if you join a public server and are not ready to travel out far from spawn. Most of the ground copper may have been scooped up, but panning will supply for early tools. Even though I've got steel now, I still pan the bony soil for ancient goodies while I am waiting for daylight during the long cold winter.

I agree, though I came up with this back when I was way newer to the game and didn't know how to get copper any other way haha!
