I'm sorry to break it to you, but you're going to run into two (or more) problems: 1. Thieves (or anyone for that matter) don't tend to stand that close to a person with a gun aimed at them. They'll probably be a few feet back from you. 2. The person wielding the gun most definitely will be able to pull the trigger before you can even attempt to do this.
React because the gun will go off as soon as you touch it so that is why he explains to get out of the line of fire and some guns can have a long trigger pull before they actually go off
anyone sticking a gun to your face really doesn't expect you to grab it, otherwise, they wouldn't be standing so close. It is the people that stand 10 feet back with a gun that worries me.
Protip: don't use this in a mugging situation. Only use this when the supervillain has finished monologing, pressed the gun against your temple, and said "Do svidaniya, Mr. Bond" or something like that.
My Soke taught me this exact technique as well as others similar to it. He was a ranger in the army before he was my teacher. Its very quick and effective. He also told me the same thing about how the gun WILL discharge and the attacker will almost always try to recoil and create space between you. One thing I will add to this is, that knowledge of how a gun works and how to actually use a gun helps a lot when doing this technique. I had a much better appreciation for gun disarming techniques once I learned how to shoot, clear and maintain a firearm.
YOU SHOULD ONLY TRY THIS IF YOU ARE AN EXTREMELY PRACTICED MARTIAL ARTIST. FIGHT OR FLIGHT CAN CAUSE YOU TO FORGET IMPORTANT MOVES AND CAN LEAD TO YOUR DEATH. ITS NOT %100 FOOL PROOF BUT THE BEST DEFENSE IS TO BE EXTREMELY AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS AT AL TIMES AND LIMMIT TIME IN PLACES WHERE THIS CAN POTENTIALLY HAPPEN. BUT IF ITS LIFE OR DEATH YOU GOTTA DO WHAT YOU GOTTAV DO.
I'm sure this guy knows much more than me when it come to martial arts. When it comes to firing a gun, all the best shooters have 'both' of their arms straight and it's only really in the movies/cop shows/ill informed the second hand is bent. I would train with nerf guns to see if you can actually not get shot, takes only a tiny movement of a finger to send a round off.
This is why the first part of the disarm is to remove yourself from the line. That small duck he does happens so quickly that the opponent cannot pull the trigger fast enough. It is humanly impossible to react that quickly. This is why the gun does go off during the disarm, but always after you have cleared. There are videos of guys doing these disarms with real guns firing blanks. As to the question about resistance, even if both arms are straight it is irrelevant. Your leverage is coming from your core as you move forward, and is acting on the barrel of the gun and therefore his wrists and trigger finger. It is not possible, even for a much bigger opponent, to counter your core and body weight acting on the lever of the barrel. He will let go, or he will break a finger and lose the gun anyway.
Thats not true at all actually. Some people shoot with their arms strait but it is proper technique to have your support arm bent. Coming from a shooter with years of experience.
@blogobre Yeah, but it all comes down to human reaction. Can you react fast than the man with the gun? That's all it is at the end of the day. We got taught to use subtle distrations (granted they might not even work) But for example, be submissive so slowly out your hands up to surrender but at gun level which cuts down the distance in which you have to react, talk a lot as well. Something like, "Have my watch" so the gun man looks at your wrist or to your pocket for money. Just very simple distractions to give you that split second reaction, which is enough for you to be faster than him.
+john smith Actually they do, but it depends upon the attacker's intent at the moment. If he wants to shoot you, it won't matter because he's already done that. IF he hasn't shot you, than his immediate goal is something else. He may be trying to intimidate, which will always bring him close, and he may have something to say, or want something from you. Yes, they do get that close sir.
+pauljackowacko552 It's not. Try it with a nerf pistol. If you do it right, you'll never get shot. That's even with the guy knowing you're going to do something. I'm not saying try this in a real life situation, but I'm saying it works.
If you are being mugged at gunpoint, throw your wallet in one direction and run in the other, zig zagging. They probably have more interest in the money than you.
***** there is a 4/100 chance of being shot in a situation like this if you do what Katie Banning said; and that is factual. Also how or why would they take you down if you throw the wallet and run OPPOSITE direction of the throw?
@@rllys1mple681 Not sure where youre from but in my state we go to jail for that. It the force continuum. The moment someone turns their back to run and is no longer a threat, you cannot pull a gun just to get your property back. It sucks, but its the law in my state.
@@dragonlee1000 you can't hold him? does it has to be the same as threatening someone? (edit.. I forgot that only police might be authorized for that lul)
@@rllys1mple681 A citizen can only pull a firearm when their life is in danger. As in someone has a weapon aimed at you, or is firing at you, or someone else. It is only to stop an active situation but if someone is fleeing (unless they are posing additional threats, like wearing a bomb vest and running towards a crowd etc) you cannot fire at them or "hold them". That is on duty police only. Additionally think about what were to happen if they didnt listen to your commands and ran, what would you do then? These are sticky law situations that land people in jail, so my advice to any legal gun owner is to really understand their local laws and maybe even take a class on just the legal aspects. As a correctional officer I see many "heros" who were trying to do the "right thing" in jail. You dont want to be locked up for that trust me... jail sucks. The legal system is far from perfect (and I am the last person who will ever defend every law because many of them need revising or removal), but not knowing them can cost you dearly.
the only problem is that you have to apply 3 different moves (ducking, pushing away the gun, and kicking) which can slow down or confuse you when you execute this move. also you can lose balance and fall when you try to kick. i think it's better to not do the kicking part. keep it simple and fast.
also what if the guy isn't standing with his legs wide open.. Also the guy holding the gun never actually puts his finger on the trigger which makes this type of disarm almost impossible
Could probably work in some situations. What most miss to inform is about the mental part. Training in a dojo or other areas is one thing, walking down the street in the night when it's raining and someone smacks you in the face and points a real gun to your face is another. Training in a dojo will only take you this far, training outside in different environments at different times will probably give you a higher chance to make these techniques work a little better. No hate though, it's fun to watch and try what others practice and think. I'm sure someone will disagree with what I think too.
I was shown this technique in Krav Maga, it has at least one flaw that I can see. On a semi-auto pistol of the type he is holding, the slide will go back when the gun goes off. If you are holding this part of the pistol the front site is going to slice your hand open and you are going to let go involuntarily.
I don't know much about this kind of situation but I do know one thing: if the gun is ready to fire, then you don't need to re-chamber a round. You only rack the slide when you're loading a round in and most semi-auto pistols --assuming the gun is functional-- will load another round into the chamber after having fired the first bullet. Long story short, re-racking the slide is unnecesary.
He said that the gun would fire when you duck and hit up at it. The chamber of another round is assuming the gun did fire when you shoved upward in the first move. Or the intended victim could just stand there pointing the gun in the person's direction with the attacker knowing there's not a round in the chamber. (That would be the mistake I'd make so my only protection would be to throw the gun at him!) Again, assuming it did fire in the first move.
This is probably one of the best disarms I've seen. I incorporate some Krav Maga techniques into my street defense curriculum because Krav Maga is so bombastic and explosive. I don't teach this technique because you must already be a proficient martial artist, specifically a Krav Maga practitioner, to make this technique work. I came here from another video that shows a so-called bushido technique (it's not bushido) to disarm a gun, that if employed in a real world sutuation, you will absolutely get shot in the head. The key point that I really like about this technique is that while ducking and twisting the gun upward and back into your opponent's close quarters, your chance of getting shot is extremely low. To quote ASP, "Wait your turn." Then strike if appropriate. Always counter attack from the ambush so that your assailant isn't expecting it. Don't ever telegraph or resist, in fact, do the opposite. Feign submission and fear while assessing the sutuation. You may only have a millisecond to react and you better not miss your window. Your life could depend on it.
Great tutorial, one of our crew members trains Krav Maga (she's had a few close run ins during our travels) and she's using various youtube videos to demonstrate techniques to the rest of the crew - we're impressed how simple and effective the techniques are
By the time you kick or after the kick the guy would pull away and shoot you. Your demo has the students doing the move without any resistance, this obviously works when nobody fights, but if you resist then what?
This is the most coherent question about this video until now, IMHO... I guess you have to chase him real quickly, rotating the gun so you can have it from the attacker at the same time you keep him from pulling it off. Then you strike him, so you can stun him somehow and pull the weapon out of his hands . Krav Maga is mostly about speed, for what I know. So, this must be real quick. And it has to be a natural (conditioned) reaction from the body. I don't practice Krav Maga. This is just what I have observed and it may be wrong. So, this is open to discussion as well.
Glauber Cantacini Thanks for comment… I understand the way you try make logic of the move, however in reality it either works or it doesn't. In reality it will never work 100% and you need the move to work even when it's not perfect. Some moves work even 99% of the time.. I prefer to have something work100% of the time when my life is on the line. So our techniques work all the time, they may not look fancy but they always work even when not done exactly 100%. You do need speed, but technique and aggression are important in the same way. I am always willing to openly discuss and test techniques, including mine.
John Vadasz There is no move you can possible do, that gives you a full 100%. Never! I did Karate since i was 6 years old, got over KungFu and now do Jiujitsu, which i like a lot, but it is kind of the "Gentleman's Way", while Krav Maga was developed by Israeli special forces to counter fight terrorists and i believe no other country in the world has to face a similar thread on a daily basis,so my point is, that i do think in real live, their efficiency is almost unmatched!
Jonny Bravo What I mean by 100% is that you will defend yourself 100%. This does not mean you will not get hurt, but you will survive. The techniques we teach do work 100% in the manner I speak of above. I too did many martial arts since I was 5. Interesting also the ones you did and still do, and also interesting that you realise the limitations yourself. I know Krav Maga well and I am Israeli myself. The problem these days is that you will rarely find True Krav Maga. Most is commercialised and has not been adapted in a very long time. Just a thought, be careful of anyone claiming a self defense school of any style that has "Gentleman's Way" in it. There is no such thing in real life.
@John Vadasz hahaha i like your last sentence - very true. It was my own words, with which i wanted to express that Jiujitsu is not that kind of aggressive in it`s style. I - on a random note - do have a Krav Maga school close to my working place run by an Israeli Ex- Militar. I am really thinking of checking it out! Here the link, maybe you could give me some thoughts. And dont be bewildered, that they also offer Pilates and stuff, thats normal here for schools to do! www.centropaulistadekravmaga.net.br/index.php/
If the guy intends to kill you, he does not walk up and put the gun to your head. He shoots as soon as he sees you. You get out of your car or step out of your door, he shoots you from 10 feet away.
It takes practice..but worth it...the moves he is showing is done all together...you don't count...123... you make it all together...great job in this illustration...
Agreed, all my life I've seen numerous of techniques on how to handle a guy with a gun or knife, but I have never seen these tactics actually used in a real (guy with a gun) scenerio. Like Bruce Lee said "It looks good, it sounds good, but will it actually work in a life or death fighting battle?"
It seems to me The first beginning steps of this defense will actually get you shot ducking off the x means being totally off the angle of where the shot is intending to go all he's doing is bending his head down and putting his spinal cord in front of the bullet all the person has to do raise their hand up higher and point the pistol straight down to shoot you never disarm a gun where is the first part of the defense leaves you standing in front of the gun.
Completely unconcerned with all of the "this won't work in real life comments" because this system was developed in combat and under combat conditions and has been used in combat as to where those who make such comments have done so with no experience what so ever.
I agree. Out of all the known close quarter combat systems, krav maga has been tested on the battlefield probably the most (in recent times). Most of there weapons disarming techniques seem pretty good to me. As far as the people who say it won't work, it may not because the dude with the gun has a big advantage and especially if he knows how to use it.
For the setup, this would work but if you watch the vids on ASP's channel, you will see that most perps or muggers use a stiff arm to keep people at a distance while holding the gun in the opposite hand and back. The problem is the gun isn't reachable without climbing over the stiff arm and you will get shot trying to do it.
One thing I have to mention to everyone that sees this comment. The second that gun goes off close to your head you could be stunned. A gun close to your ear is LOUD. Continue with the action despite the pain in your ears.
@@cmds5604 they've got speed reloaders for revolvers and Jerry Miculek has the world record for shoot 6, reload, and shoot 6 again at like 2.99 seconds
***** I am from Brazil and here exactly that happens all the time. A moto stops next to your car on a red light, gun out - money, cell and whatever handed over and you still got a bullet in your head! Just last month my co-worker got shot. Bullet entered at his left shoulder - got out right side near his ass. All the way though!!! After 3 weeks of hospital he survived!
Come live is South Africa where they kill you just for shits and giggles. You never know what will happen. I've trained in these techniques for home invasion though, because the first step is to avoid conflict. Someone asking me for my wallet at gun point, I will just give it to them. Someone comes into my home and threatens my family, I will defend them because too often here that ends in executions or life threatening beatings.
What are the odds of him just killing you because you're black/islamic/jewish? What about if you drive a rich car and he gets you as you walk out? It's naive to assume that a person who holds a gun to you is just after your money or that a criminal thinks like a rational person.
If the gun fires when you grab it, you don't need to pull the slide, there will already be a fresh round in there. Every time you fire, the casing gets expelled and a new round cycles.
#1 a robber usually never approaches u from the front, they come from the side, and mostly from your back. So this senerio usually never takes place. Remember, crooks r always sneaky , so before you go anywhere like around a corner,or in a back ally, always check out your surroundings before u go any further, look for shadows , sounds in odd places that should not be. Don't be using headphones going in them areas either, unless u want to be blindsided. Being very observant will save your life,I don't care if someone is with you, always keep up your guard, a lunatic could be lying in wait for u just around the corner. .😈😈😈
Just for mention: There is also a small piece of iron that is called TRIGGER. Can you imagine the next sound? Yea...now imagine this teacher headshoted....yea and now please focus on how you can calm the attacker through psychology!
VERY NICELY DONE SIR...PEOPLE KEEP IN MIND THAT THE MORE YOU LEARN THE BETTER PERHAPS YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF IN THIS PREDICAMENT AND USE THIS TECHNIQUE. .YOU NEVER KNOW ! INSTEAD OF RIDICULING THIS INSTRUCTOR, LEARN FROM HIM...
Every tutorial i see shows a guy holding it with one hand. What if you came across a guy who holds the gun properly with both hands? would it work the same?
In a situation where the attacker/robber has 2 hands placed on the gun. If it's money they want, then pull your wallet out as to give it to them. Not only are they distracted by the wallet, but you have freed up a fighting hand.
Bosnian Muscle Most criminals don't hold it properly though, because they aren't trained usually. But there are techniques to be used against a two handed grip as well. It's more about adapting to the situation then having a set technique for everything.
Bosnian Muscle You are not supposed to let yourself get in this situation in the first place, these kinds of techniques are just as a last resort kind of thing, and may or may not work all the time. When dealing with a gun using your bare hands it is always a risk, techniques like this one do not remove that risk, nor do they claim to.
@@BhBc8f8 ohh its very easy to explain why it wouldn't work. A bullet is faster than me, this isn't a movie and I've not gone through military training for my body to pull this off in that kind of mental stress
This is what I teach as one possible defense against a gun. Problem is when that gun goes off most people I would say better than 80% have never been in a close proximity of a gun going off with no hearing protection, you can never discount the fact that a ton of people will freeze or make a mistake when that 157 to 164 decibels assail your ears. In comparison a jet taking off is 150 and can blow your ear drums if you are working near it. If anyone has a suggestion on how to train for this besides joining the military (that was my method).
Actually depending on the laws of wherever you are, if you're able to disarm the attacker and you draw your own weapon you become the aggressor. If you fire a shot you go to jail because your life was no longer in danger. If you plan on defending yourself in this way just be sure you know the law.
Idk if that would work because the person will shoot if you try to fight them and if your hand is on the gun like that the slide of the gun could cause serious damage to your hand
Actually the slide won't move. There's a video by Active Self Defence, he shoots his gun while holding the slide. The bullet leaves the gun but because the slide fails to move the empty case remains in the chamber. Effectively preventing a follow up shot until the slide is reworked.
Usually a shooter is moving is'nt he...so we are talking probably a split second when he puts the gun to your head..but this is very helpful to watch thank you. 👍
As an American Kenpo and handgun self-defense instructor, with many years of training and experience in law enforcement and private security, I can say the instruction in this video is bogus. No person holds a pistol like that when they are using it to attack. If they are well trained, they would always place their trigger finger on the slide or trigger guard. Or a untrained person might place their index finger on the trigger. But no one who's about to shoot someone would place all four of their fingers on the grip alone. Therefore, if the would-be attacker was indeed holding the handgun correctly, it would be much harder to disarm him then is portrayed in this video.
+TheFew TheProud If you have all those qualifications, you should know that no-one trains pistol disarms with a finger inside or alongside the trigger guard. It's way too easy for the uke's finger to get jammed, twisted and broken during the technique. The technique still works the same with the opponent's finger on the trigger, they're just far more likely to end up with a broken finger as a result of the disarm. Basic safety principles.
Yes, yes... you see this is no good; in a situation like this I would simply use one of a legion of disarmingly sarcastic witticisms making reference to the assailant's personhood, family or station in life which would render the hooligan quite helpless emotionally. Huzzah! Sarcasm!
What if ur a kid or ur someone way weaker then the armed robber and u try to get the gun even if u can get it what should i do if I don't know how to use the gun and I don't have my own weapon and what if the robber has multiple weapons should I smack him in the face and run but if he or she had multiple weapons if you make a video about this u have to do it in different situated with a knife with gun or other weapon and if ur weak or strong or where u r and other stuff cause I want to know what to do if this ever happens to me even if I am olny a preteen
If you don't know how to use the gun, just throw it away across the floor, at least then you know he won't get it again. However, If you're a kid and you're attacked by a guy packing two guns and a knife, your best bet is to cry for your mom. Nothing is going to put you in control of that situation.
Pull the trigger and always aim for the head. I think every college girl should carry guns on campus. The hand gun is semi auto same with rifles and shotguns. An mp5, uzi and an m60 are all fully autos.
Not trying to bash anyone's technique here, but I was always taught to get the barrel away from any vitals quick as possible, meaning instead of going in an upward direction toward my brain, I should direct the barrel to my side.
Toy gun, black belt, predetermined positioning, calm "assailant." You give yourself about a 30/60 chance that the gun will go off before you can clear it, and a bullet is a lot faster than your hands. This video should be called "How to get civilians shot."
that is a good motions, but if the gun is far or in a lower position with your head, you should get the head to the side and push the enemy's arm out.then take the enemy's hand and hold it tightly while keep use the other hand to punch.
This requires a little effort with no guaranteed result!! I'll give him my money at least to offset the price of the gun, His work is expensive and deserves community support.
Yeahhhhh...... Ok if they just wanted money they can have it. I'm sure my annual earning power by far exceeds whatever cash I'd have on me at the time...
That's how you get shot, this shouldn't be a thing any normal person tries. If you do you'll most likely fail and be shot as a result. Plus, most thieves know to keep their distance and would tell you to drop the stuff on the ground and walk away. In that case you really only have two options, be shot or give them what they want. What's worth more - your phone, wallet and keys to your car or your life?
And when armed robbers start getting wise and carrying 2 guns? Not smart... if it's physical property they want, give it them. You can always get it back later, your life, cannot.
And if it's not? People learn, teach and use these methods for a reason. Even after you give them what they want chances are they will still shoot you and it is almost guaranteed in my neighborhood. Don't depend on the kindness of an armed criminal.
Then it's a different situation that calls for a different response. The fact of one gun against the face here is assumed for the sake of this specific move. Of course you're right about giving up physical property, but nobody knows until they're in that situation whether or not they're going to have a sense that this is going to be more than a robbery. Again, we're talking about a technique for disarming and gaining advantage here. It's the person's own decision as to whether that's advisable or necessary in any given situation.
+GatoMolhado ... I know...it really sucks to be in that predicament to begin with. it also sucks to be at the mercy of a bad guy. but I know for sure you are not going to out draw someone who has a gun to your head

Man when you on the streets and someone randomly pulls a gun on you your reactions are different am not hating on the video! just a fact one thing is training in a friendly environment with plastic guns and the other thing is having a guy or two pulling out a loaded gun and putting it on your face.... Self defense is a serious thing a lot of people make a business out of it and its not a joke you making people believe they can really fight someone armed with a gun and a knife... am not saying this guy is necessarily making a business out of this but still its a delicate very serious topic when you talk about weapons.
I see what you are saying and agree with much of it but I bet that I can take your weapon away from you at 7ft away and snag your wallet at the same time! And BTW like I said! I REALLY see what you're saying ok and you make a very good point. :)
I taught for the US Military and people need to understand when unarmed against weapons you are in a acute disadvantage...you need options...don't attempt to defend yourself is a option...you have to make a personal choice as to many factors ..but if you choose to fight for your life you need options..and to train hard keep a open mind to techniques and practice is better then sitting around debating what might work or not. when I teach higher level students I wold have each wear a white t shirt for Knife against knife and knife against unarmed..and have the attacker use a red sharpie so they can see with the red slices on there shirt or body the effectiveness of there practice. There is no magic techniques...but to practice is much better than doing nothing.
Dojocho Im not exactly sure what you teach BUT the concept of --> (don't attempt to defend yourself),, IS NOT AN OPTION TO PEOPLE LIKE ME! Sorry if I misunderstood your comment ok! Pretty sure that I didnt tho!
We did this defense last night in my Krav Class, and it was actually very logical when talked through. The first thing we got taught. Give them what they want and be safe. Simple. Secondly, like this video, if the guy wanted to kill me he would have shot me instantly instead of holding me up. He wants something. Also for us it was more being robbed by a member of the public and not a military personnel with training. So they won't be experts on guns. People take these videos as gospel, that's not what it's about, the gun disarm is a last resort in that situation when things are getting out of hand and you have to respond in some fashion. In that way the defense is solid.
what if the guy who had the gun FIRST does the SAME thing to me to get the gun back because he saw this TH-cam video too !?

I'm sure this guy knows much more than me when it come to martial arts. When it comes to firing a gun, all the best shooters have 'both' of their arms straight and it's only really in the movies/cop shows/ill informed the second hand is bent. I would train with nerf guns to see if you can actually not get shot, takes only a tiny movement of a finger to send a round off.
Great!
Thanks for the info
Thats not true at all actually. Some people shoot with their arms strait but it is proper technique to have your support arm bent. Coming from a shooter with years of experience.
@blogobre Yeah, but it all comes down to human reaction. Can you react fast than the man with the gun? That's all it is at the end of the day. We got taught to use subtle distrations (granted they might not even work)
But for example, be submissive so slowly out your hands up to surrender but at gun level which cuts down the distance in which you have to react, talk a lot as well. Something like, "Have my watch" so the gun man looks at your wrist or to your pocket for money. Just very simple distractions to give you that split second reaction, which is enough for you to be faster than him.
Am sorry for telling you but people don't stand that close when they have a gun
john smith yes some do not all but some. I mean come on there are 7 billion people in this world!
john smith That sounds like a great reason for disregarding training for if they do.
+john smith How else are they going to mug you?
+john smith Actually they do, but it depends upon the attacker's intent at the moment. If he wants to shoot you, it won't matter because he's already done that. IF he hasn't shot you, than his immediate goal is something else. He may be trying to intimidate, which will always bring him close, and he may have something to say, or want something from you. Yes, they do get that close sir.
+Bro Sany it could still be above 7 billion
I think my finger is faster.
my elite 10 hours of CS:GO made my reaction time fast enough.
+pauljackowacko552 It's not. Try it with a nerf pistol. If you do it right, you'll never get shot. That's even with the guy knowing you're going to do something. I'm not saying try this in a real life situation, but I'm saying it works.
That's why you give your money first
@@justviewing8387 likely Not, give him your money.
Just Viewing games don’t help that’s why they are called games trust me.
If you are being mugged at gunpoint, throw your wallet in one direction and run in the other, zig zagging. They probably have more interest in the money than you.
I agree.
Serpentine man! Serpentine!
Katie Banning no thats not true. I'm pretty sure they would shoot you then get the wallet, or atleast take you down.
***** there is a 4/100 chance of being shot in a situation like this if you do what Katie Banning said; and that is factual. Also how or why would they take you down if you throw the wallet and run OPPOSITE direction of the throw?
Guns make noise so if your in a public place they probably won't shoot you.
Damon T Easy. The wallet's not going anywhere. They shoot you first, then pick up the wallet at their leisure and flee.
I had to do this and it actually worked
This looks to be an effective technique. Perfect practice makes perfect.
+ChainReaction! Lmao
+J Cole I had to do it too once, I ended up giving the guy the gun back as done in the video though.

@@dennisgoe3537 but then you'll draw your gun on his back, if the gun is not discovered
You have to disturb the concentration of the attacker, you have to make an atemi.
also what if the guy isn't standing with his legs wide open.. Also the guy holding the gun never actually puts his finger on the trigger which makes this type of disarm almost impossible
Thats why you practice
it’s only confusing if you do not practice and make it muscle memory. Watching a video on TH-cam does not suffice
Doesn't take an actual groin shot; point is to put the attacker totally on the defense from multiple points.
1:43, if I had my own weapon I would not be in this situation lol.
+Ben Toby you can be surprized , a gun won't make you become superman
If I had my own weapon I'd be surrendering it to the attacker with my hands up as I say please don't hurt me I'll do whatever you want.
kevin webster well I bet my finger is faster then them
If you had your own weapon, you wouldnt have enough time to draw it and you will be just shot, unless you are planning to mug someone yourself
I like that you mention the "assumptions". Very realistic approach.
I asked the same thing in a seminar. They told me, would you rather lose a hand or lose a head?
This guy is very brave ,,,, ,,,, for making this video and letting people see it .
(That would be the mistake I'd make so my only protection would be to throw the gun at him!) Again, assuming it did fire in the first move.
no. you re rack it because during a fight over a gun it is commonly jammed, especially after one round is fired and interrupted.
I come here to check the comments whenever am depressed 😂😂😂
Then you strike him, so you can stun him somehow and pull the weapon out of his hands
.
John Vadasz
There is no move you can possible do, that gives you a full 100%.

Few seconds later... Woah am I in heaven
I pretended the two students got stuck in a paradox where both wanted each other's money till the end of time.
AHHAHA I LAUGHED SO HARD WHEN HE SAID GIMME THE MONEY OMG
gimme all da moneys
Why? if getting robbed that's what the criminal says.
I tried this now I’m on the hospital bed with 50% chance of survival
It seems to me The first beginning steps of this defense will actually get you shot ducking off the x means being totally off the angle of where the shot is intending to go all he's doing is bending his head down and putting his spinal cord in front of the bullet all the person has to do raise their hand up higher and point the pistol straight down to shoot you never disarm a gun where is the first part of the defense leaves you standing in front of the gun.
I said the same thing on my comment its obvious its fake
Yes! It works great against small Palestinian children.

One thing I have to mention to everyone that sees this comment. The second that gun goes off close to your head you could be stunned. A gun close to your ear is LOUD. Continue with the action despite the pain in your ears.
The sound effects are ABSOLUTELY necessary.

I am from Brazil and here exactly that happens all the time.
I don't think everyone would not kill someone for 20 dollars
What are the odds of him just killing you because you're black/islamic/jewish? What about if you drive a rich car and he gets you as you walk out? It's naive to assume that a person who holds a gun to you is just after your money or that a criminal thinks like a rational person.
Yea but would if u don't have your money with u
If the gun fires when you grab it, you don't need to pull the slide, there will already be a fresh round in there. Every time you fire, the casing gets expelled and a new round cycles.
What if he is in a distance?
And I don't want to try it because the risks are high.

Don't be using headphones going in them areas either, unless u want to be blindsided.
I see what you're saying, still though seems like you kind of got to get lucky, eh, gun to the head doesn't give you too many options i guess.
Most thugs aren't that smart. They'd probably be holding it sideways too.
Remember robbers hold the gun nice and high so your victim can duck under and grab it.

If you plan on defending yourself in this way just be sure you know the law.
he said, for law enforcement. who already have a weapon they are legal to use/ more familiar with

Idk if that would work because the person will shoot if you try to fight them and if your hand is on the gun like that the slide of the gun could cause serious damage to your hand
Well ur damaged hand is better than a damaged brain
+Viktor Kovalchuk i guess you r right, after all, this is quite risky for an average Joe, or even well practiced kungfuer
Actually the slide won't move. There's a video by Active Self Defence, he shoots his gun while holding the slide. The bullet leaves the gun but because the slide fails to move the empty case remains in the chamber. Effectively preventing a follow up shot until the slide is reworked.
Krav Maga Offense : How to point a gun at someone (Make sure they're not close enough to counter you.) Great lesson.
Usually a shooter is moving is'nt he...so we are talking probably a split second when he puts the gun to your head..but this is very helpful to watch thank you. 👍
But his finger wasn't on the trigger, wouldn't someone pull the trigger with that movement that he's doing?
Never put the finger on the trigger in training: when he yanks the gun, the finger gard will break it and maybe peel off the skin a bit
It's to avoid injury.
I wonder the % rate of who's gonna use this 0000.01 % lmao
Yes, yes... you see this is no good; in a situation like this I would simply use one of a legion of disarmingly sarcastic witticisms making reference to the assailant's personhood, family or station in life which would render the hooligan quite helpless emotionally. Huzzah! Sarcasm!
Thanks for the tip, from now on I'm only keeping my 2nd gun loaded.

Multiple weapons? Your joking right? And you assume everyone dab fend someone off or they are 'weak' please this makes NO sense

that is a good motions, but if the gun is far or in a lower position with your head, you should get the head to the side and push the enemy's arm out.then take the enemy's hand and hold it tightly while keep use the other hand to punch.

Lol I didnt expect to see Alois here haha
Yeahhhhh...... Ok if they just wanted money they can have it. I'm sure my annual earning power by far exceeds whatever cash I'd have on me at the time...
That's how you get shot, this shouldn't be a thing any normal person tries. If you do you'll most likely fail and be shot as a result. Plus, most thieves know to keep their distance and would tell you to drop the stuff on the ground and walk away. In that case you really only have two options, be shot or give them what they want. What's worth more - your phone, wallet and keys to your car or your life?
Once you get the gun out of their hands, don't shoot. It's no longer considered an act of self defense and you could end up going to prison for it.
And when armed robbers start getting wise and carrying 2 guns? Not smart... if it's physical property they want, give it them. You can always get it back later, your life, cannot.
Bruce Chavez Stick to picking fights on youtube, actually no, if anyone ever points a gun at you, try and grab it - it'll save tax payers money.
And if it's not? People learn, teach and use these methods for a reason. Even after you give them what they want chances are they will still shoot you and it is almost guaranteed in my neighborhood. Don't depend on the kindness of an armed criminal.
So what do you think is the best way to do if a robber carries 2 guns?
Then it's a different situation that calls for a different response. The fact of one gun against the face here is assumed for the sake of this specific move.
Of course you're right about giving up physical property, but nobody knows until they're in that situation whether or not they're going to have a sense that this is going to be more than a robbery. Again, we're talking about a technique for disarming and gaining advantage here. It's the person's own decision as to whether that's advisable or necessary in any given situation.
don't try this....cooperation is the best method. you will not win.

Dojocho Well said. I do the same drill in my courses.
What about if you have to observe special distancing protocols.. do you ask him to sanitize first?
sensei is always thankful.
you guys are funny this is not the right way to defend yourself from gun
I agree, I wrote a pretty long comment on the way I WAS taught.
Its a good technique if dropping your money doesn't work and they are intent on killing you.
howcast is getting shittier and shittier... my opinion
Going to Chicago tomorrow so I'm watching defense videos and how to care for gun wounds. Wish me luck 🤞
Wow Thanks This is very impressive I think I might take a Krav Maga Defensive Course because of this video. This is my unsolicited compliment,
