      Right this technique leaves the attacker with a free hand and still in possession of his weapon for most of the exchange this is severely flawed

    The better thing to do is listen and follow directions. You have a higher chance of surviving. Anyone holding a gun at you is going to be on edge, and will function on reflexes, so as soon as you move, they'll likely either shoot you, or move back and still keep you at gunpoint.

  • @gaborkalocsa1840

      @kynigosthewolf4573 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah you probably would want to drop a bit lower than he did so that you NOT off balence. assuming the weilder of the gun isnt an idiot, he could at the moment smash into your sholder and make you do a faceplant. but if you go lowe in sutch a way that you lower your center of gravity, you will be harder to topple.

    If you are aware that a man with a gun is approaching you from behind with a gun, THIS IS YOUR BEST CHANCE. If you turn around you acknowledge his presence and appear threatening which warrants space. Stay calm and react fast when the man approaches. I also wouldn't turn around if the person calls out for your attention. Even if its obviously directed at you, respond without facing the person.

      Then get out the way, grab the barrel of the gun and twist it the opposite direction the wrist is supposed to move. He should get uncomfortable and let go, don’t forget to actually grip it properly shortly after and shoot them all in the knees.

    The California DMV has statistics on human reaction. It tales 3/4 of a second to recognize a problem and another 3/4 of a second to react to it. The body is slow. You CAN take a gun away, but be ready for the shot that is loud and the gun may still be in his hand. He is pumped up with adrenalin before he even approaches you. If you are smaller, you might not take the gun and he is gripping it with white knuckles.

    • @graphguy

    A mugger/gunman is going to do whatever he wants to do. You can't expect every one of them to be portrayed like this. He CAN choose to stand afar from you at gunpoint on your back if he wanted to. You can't dodge bullets that fast mate, we're only human. If you can give me an explanation to me at how you're going to evade a gunman from what I said, then props to you. Otherwise, it's still a deathly ordeal.

    What most people don't realize is that human reaction time is slower that human action time. I did an experiment with a laser gun. And my body was never pained with the laser. If a cat could shoot a gun, these techniques wouldn't work because cats have faster reaction times. Hence the saying reflexes of a cat.

  • @IHSparkour
    @IHSparkour 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you're the Flash I bet you can do that. But in all honesty, the gunman can just flick his wrist to the side and/or back up and shoot you regardless. At 0:05 I don't think a gunman will be standing still like that and watch you turn and do a maneuver on him. It's just unrealistic.

  • @elegantlyou
    @elegantlyou 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Exactly, and you even knew he was going to do it and you couldn't flick your wrist or do anything against them. If it would be in real life, the person holding the gun won't expect anything and it's gonna come out as a shock, therefore kind of paralised because his mind won't be able to come up with something to do against you. So you don't have to be Superman to be able to succceed at doing these techniques.

  • @milos_djekic
    @milos_djekic 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    The instructor here totally left himself open to receive a punch to the head while turning around to put his hand beneath the attacker's. This...might...work, but if the other guy has reflexes, you're done.

    Dude, don't you get it? This is real-life, and not a movie. A gunman will be VERY reluctant to shoot you, especially if he is a robber. He will be confused by the situation and what you are doing; so no, realistically he may just be standing there in shock for a split-second.

  • @shanadeali9410
    @shanadeali9410 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    if I take the gun, do I shoot him. And even if I do or do not shoot him, what do I do with the gun after? I can't keep it.

      Hold the gun at the guy, Don't ever shoot him/her, if you do and the person didn't even harm you. You can be arrested for trying to murder someone, because even if the person threatened you, they did not try to physically harm you. Even with a gun pointed at your back, it might not even be loaded. You should hand the gun to authorities, it can be traced back to the store it was bought back and traced to the buyer. But! BUT! I would be careful the police might arrest you by accident, I would drop the gun when you are at a safe distance to run away or if the thug runs away, Just to be safe, unload the clip.

    this will work i suppose ,unless its a pro hitman or a trained shooter

    • @ssrrapper
      @ssrrapper 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +David Charoux If a pro hitman ever has a gun to my back, then I probably ticked off someone powerful and made some bad choices to end up in that situation - maybe then I deserve what is coming to me. Otherwise, if someone has a gun in my back, then it's probably some street thug trying to rob me, and they probably aren't experienced or sophisticated.

    There would be no reason unless the gun jammed to pull the slide back to put a new round in because if he didn't fire the round would still be chambered and if he fired the gun would cycle

    • @alex-um8ml
      @alex-um8ml 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      the attacker may not have a round in the chamber to start , even if he did there is definitely a round now. Good thinking though.

    • @blakegaming1
      @blakegaming1 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alex Hutchinson if he is trying to rob you there is going to be a round in the chamber

    • @jakedrumfellow
      @jakedrumfellow 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      To add, often times the weapon will discharge during the technique, but the slide will not allow a round to cycle due to being held in place by the hand. Making "Tap, Rack, Pull" muscle memory when you gain control of the weapon never hurts in any situation.

    • @kaim268
      @kaim268 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Blake Huffman mate it's a precaution, youd rather be 100% sure that there was a round in the chamber than pull the trigger and hope there was one in the chamber

      Some people forget to chamber a round.
