    I've always been afraid of doing any wiring on my mistress, an '07 Road King. But, DK Customs has given me light at the end of the tunnel, and I cannot thank you enough.

    Thanks for this "demonstrational" video, it takes some of the mystery out of the wiring process 😀

      Yes, a lot of folks will only solder a connection. But I have over 200K miles on bikes using Posi-Taps and have never had an issue with one. 👍😎👍

    I've heard/read that tapping into CAN bus controlled wiring harnesses can cause all kinds of hassles- can you guys comment on that and whether, or where in the system, you've got to allow for that issue?

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We have heard the same thing. But we have installed all our parts on CANBus bikes and never had any issues.
      I believe the folks that run into problems have one or both of the following occurring-
      1. Bad connections
      2. Electrical items that are not compatible

    I have a question. I have a 2021 Triglide and my mud flaps with led's is supposed to arrive tomorrow. I was doing some pre-planning after watching this video, and my rear lights connector seems odd. Once I disconnect the connector, the end with the male spades has 7 wires and the other end only has 6. After doing my test with my test light, the 7th wire on the one end that is not on the other end is for the brake lights telling me that there is no brake lights only wire on the 6-wire end. Will the connection to the turn signals pick up the brake signal through a circuit board or something to engage the brake lights on the mud flaps? I thought I would ask thinking Kevin's 2019 would be pretty similar to my 2021. Thank you!

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You want to make sure you are looking at the connector that runs to the tail lights located on the fenders, not the one going to the Tour Pak lights.
      Yes, if there is a signal from the brakes and you tie into it, the will illuminate the mud flap LED's when you put the brakes on.
      Thanks for your business, we appreciate it, and I believe you will be well pleased with the LED Mud Flaps! 👍

      I just finished my install. Everything went great EXCEPT for the length of the wires. I know copper is expensive, but for that small of wire, I wouldn't think that it would cost that much more for 6 inches more length on each. I would pay the extra to not have to make my own extension pigtails. Hopefully future products will have this change. Otherwise, they look and work great!

      @@ccmlkm Great to hear you are enjoying the LED Mud Flaps. Sorry the wire was too short. Not sure if it was shorter than normal, or if you routed differently than we normally do. Again, apologies, and will will make the wire a bit longer for future Customers. Thank you for the feedback!

    I tell you what I was astonished by. I bought the expensive mighty mites fans from love jugs for my 21 Low Rider S and when my bike didn’t come with the accessory plug these use to wire the fans, I was SOL. They literally did nothing to give me any assistance after that. Their website claims you’ll receive EVERYTHING needed for a complete and easy installation, but they certainly didn’t back up those claims. Wouldn’t even provide me with instructions! It took them about 2-3 weeks of my continued inquiries before they answered me back and told me basically to take to a shop if I didn’t have the accessory plug on my bike. When I brought up the claims made on their website along with actually emailing a screenshot back to them……..crickets. I’ll never buy anything from them again regardless of how well their product works and would in fact make someone a deal on these fans that I’ve never installed because I’m so pissed off at their shit service that I don’t want anything from them on my bike. $500 spent to be treated like I’m some a-hole bothering them or something. Unbelievable.

      Yeah, it is a good product that they copied from a Veteran...then went and got a patent on them and put the actual inventor out of business. (Wards Parts Werks)
      It sucks, because they work so well and you can't get them anywhere else...but, as you've experienced, the company sucks, from the top down.
      You notice we do not sell them. That was a very conscious decision on our part to Not do business with such a company.
      Also, unfortunately, in the last year or so they have had a drop in quality and availability.
      You may have noticed, I am now running a Force Flow Fan. They are a good company...BUT, they are also having supply chain issues.

    Would you add dielectric grease to this fitting 🤔☕️🇨🇦

    • @DKCustomProducts

      I do not use dielectric grease on the positap connectors. But I do wrap them in silicone tape.

    When it comes to a lot of Harley dealerships , wait until your warranty is over before adding anything that doesn’t do plug in a lot of stealerships will void your warranty on electric wiring . Even with plug in wire , personally do not trust the stealerships they are looking for reasons to make you pay for anything that is not factory .

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Those days are over. If you find a Dealership that tries to do that illegal warranty practice, report them to the FTC.
      Check out this video on the FTC cracking down on Dealerships (to the tune of up to $40,000.00+).
